About Shannon
Music is my passion, my hobby, my career and my gift. I have been performing since age 7 and teaching for the last 25 years. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in music and love to share my knowledge and experience with all ages and aptitudes - even special needs. My approach to teaching is fun but serious, laid-back but encouraging, demanding but forgiving. I teach students how to be disciplined with their practice and how to make the most of their limited time.

*** Lesson Details ***
I can help you achieve your goals! For those who want a well-rounded music education, I include music theory (note and rhythm reading), technique, ear training, improvisation and performance practice in my curriculum using a variety of methods. I enjoy working with adults interested in picking up their instrument after a number of years. P
erhaps you are someone interested in pursuing an ability to play a certain style - pop, jazz, hymns, oldies, classics, or certain artists. I customize our lessons to match your objectives.
My students have an opportunity to perform publicly several times a year which encourages practice and also builds confidence. After a few lessons, I can provide an idea of where a student will be in 3-6 months. You can always expect to find me prepared with fun ideas for our lesson. I have a grand piano as well as several keyboards to add variety and fun to our lessons.

*** Studio Equipment ***
home-grand piano in living room seating for parents
church- digital piano and seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would bring my own violin to demonstrate but would expect students to have their own instrument.

*** Specialties ***
For piano, I use Faber & Faber, Alfred, Bastien and Music for Little Mozarts. I include sight reading books, rhythm workbooks, improv studies, and later scales and arpeggios. For violin I have created my own hybrid using traditional methods and Suzuki.

I have been playing piano for 11 years now and have been professionally employed for weddings, graduations, and church events. The first lesson is to get to know you, where you're starting from, and what your goals are. I'll let you play for me if you have prior experience, but total beginners will start with the basic motor skills. I'll include ear training, theory, and appreciation necessary to enhance your skills as a pianist.

About Sarah
Recent graduate from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. I have three years of experience teaching with excellent feedback from students. It should be fun to discover new patterns and ways of thinking! I always seek the most thorough and intuitive understanding of a subject possible and want the same for you. This creates the flexibility necessary to be able to teach you in whatever manner helps you best.

I have developed a unique piano program. I believe the key to keeping students of all ages interested in farther musical growth is to let them have a say when it comes to picking music. I do expect my students to learn classical pieces because the foundation of classical music is truly important, but I want them to come to their lessons with sheet music or tell me what they want to learn next. Music is suppose to be fun and I want my students to thrive on the genre/s they love most.

About Mia
As an orphan in war-torn Sierra Leone, I was delighted to be adopted by an American family when I was nearly five years old. Then I was further overjoyed when I walked into the living room of my new home and discovered a piano! By my fifth birthday I was taking piano lessons. Since that day more than 17 years ago, I have continuously studied classical piano. I began studying jazz piano when I was 13. I began playing the oboe in middle school, and in high school I was the English horn soloist in the Vermont All-State Orchestra and the first oboist in the Green Mountain Youth Orchestra. I sang as a soloist in the Vermont Youth Orchestra Chorus, in the Flynn Theatre’s Jazz Combo, and at the Bill Reed Voice Studio. I recently earned my Master’s Certificate in Singing/ Songwriting from the Berklee College of Music, where I am majoring in son
gwriting and keyboard through the online program so that I can live here in Georgia.

Lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs. If you are just starting out or if you need college or audition prep I am here for you! I use a friendly and encouraging approach that is very accessible for even the shyest of students. Lessons encourage discipline and build confidence over time. We will play together and sing together for an enriching and lively lesson experience.

About Leigh Anne
I am a fun teacher who specializes in building confidence through practice techniques and performance opportunities. I am devoted to making each student leave their lesson with a smile on their face. I have a Bachelor of Music from Berry College, and I am very actively involved in the Cobb County Music Teachers Association.

Piano lessons are tailored to the individual student. I teach all ages and all skill levels. We participate in Pianothon every Christmas, which is a performance at Town Center Mall raising funds for a local music scholarship. We also do an annual Spring Recital, which may have a special theme (last year was video game music). Piano students will learn theory, history, and a love for their instrument.

Voice lessons are any genre the student prefers. I love musical theatre, art songs, lieder, pop music, anime music, ja
zz, or even rap/hip-hop! Each year high school students have an opportunity to go to a state vocal competition. We prepare for school events or All-State Auditions or any other auditions or performance opportunities that may arise. Vocal students will learn theory, history, and technique applicable to the songs their singing.

I also offer field trips! I like to take my students out of the studio and to musicals or shows or even the Renaissance Festival to experience music in real life. Come along for the ride!

I offer practical experience in playing and performing piano. I usually prioritize technique, since playing with bad form can lead to serious injury, while good form opens the door to expressive musicality. Hi there! My goal is to share my passion for music along with the technical skills that make it possible. I've been playing and performing the piano for about twenty years, and guitar eight years. I've given private lessons on a case-by-case basis. Regardless of what level you are currently at, I enjoy teaching people who are genuinely interested in learning.
