I've been playing piano since 1989 it's a great instrument, I love it sound and all the possibilities that it brings to a musician.... some people think it's easy to play but not so, because the one and only contact you have with this big instrument are the tip of your fingers... and you have to send all your information (feelings...) through this tiny part of your body.... it's not easy... but it might be fun and without any doubt it will be worth it....

Hello! I've been teaching violin and piano for 10+ years to students of all ages. I love helping beginners learn about the fun world of music, and helping intermediate/advanced students hone their skills.

I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University. I love to have students try music from different styles, and also teach basic music theory and ear training skills.

I am very patient, and like to pay close attention to see what works best for each individual student. If a student is interested, they can participate in my periodic recitals (currently online) for performance opportunities. I also encourage my students to take advantage of local piano contests, and to see live piano performances.

If you are new to piano, and want some help learning your way around the keys, and getting an idea of the building blocks of music, a few chords, how to read music, how to listen for and learn a melody by ear, a little technique and and some exercises for dexterity and ease, I can help you get started!

If you're not ready to commit or hire an expensive instructor just yet (note: experienced instructors who have studied music for a long time are certainly worth the expense), and just want an introduction from a very patient teacher to see if you want to continue, I'm happy to help. We will move at a pace that is most comfortable for you!

I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. I started teaching beginners when I was just a teenager, and as I learned more about pedagogy and about piano myself, I branched into teaching more advanced students. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major.

Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Piano lessons are strictly for beginners or for students who have little to no training. The first few lessons are dedicated to learning the proper playing technique and practicing several exercises to increase the hand’s coordination, flexibility, and mobility. Once the proper technique has been established we move on to Suzuki method and a series of Etudes catered to the student’s learning needs.
