Chelsea has been a great help for my son. He was having difficulty in class and was not happy to play it. He developed interest in this instrument after having these additional personal classes.

Barbara H.

Kansas City, KS

About Barbara

I love music and I enjoy helping my students to share the fun and enjoyment of making music. I am a very patient teacher and have a good sense of humor. My experience includes over 25 years of teaching private singing and piano lessons as well as school music and choral directing of students of all ages

I have Bachelor and Master degrees in Vocal Performance with minor in piano. I especially enjoy teaching Broadway singing, but also teach country, classical and pop. In piano I teach all types. I have several former students that are pursuing musical careers in performance and teaching.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are tailored to individual students needs. Fundamentals are emphasized and I always enjoy finding out what each student wants to learn and help him/her to do that. I use books that will suit the individual's needs. I guarantee a fun atmosphere and positive experience to all students.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is located in a quiet residential area and has a separate outdoor entrance. It is equipped with a Baldwin studio piano and CD equipment. There is a comfortable waiting area for parents as well.

*** Specialties ***
Even though I am classically trained, I feel at home with all types of music. I especially enjoy Broadway music and have had a lot of experience with working with students in this genre. I have former students who are performing in entertainment venues and several who are actively pursuing careers in music education.

I like to tailor my lessons to the individual student so I use many different excellent methods in teaching piano. I enjoy working with all ages----pre-school through adults.

My children have been taking piano lessons with Barabara for a little over 3 months, and I am amazed to see how well they can already play. My daughter is 7 and my son is 11 and they love going to their piano lesson. Barbara switched their music book to Christmas songs for the Holiday and my kids love to play them. She uses a mix of stickers and rewards to make the lesson fun and motivating for my children. She's a very good and kind teacher and my kids love her.

Lee is a great instructor - engaging and fun to work with. I have noticed significant improvements in my playing over the last few weeks, and my family is appreciative too, to the point that I no longer need to hide in a remote corner of the house to practice :-)
Highly recommended.

3 Reasons Why Piano Players Should Also Learn the Organ

The organ, although not the most prevalent or popular musi
