Very relaxed atmosphere. Most are very shy about singing. I make sure from the very start that students feel they're in a relaxed, non judgmental space where every voice is beautiful.

I have been teaching voice for 30 years. I teach all levels - beginning through advanced. Singing with excellent technique and development of your artistry are the goals of my teaching. You will learn classical songs as well as songs in whatever style you choose. If you do not read music, I will teach you. We will also study solfege which is a method of ear training and sight reading. Lessons begin with vocal exercises and move on to singing songs.

My name is Gretchen Tucker. I have been singing over 20 years. I have experience in a variety of choral settings, I hold a B.A. in music from Keene State College. I am also currently attending music therapy school. I am experienced in singing at weddings, funerals, patriotic, and historic events. My vocal training is popular, Broadway, religious, opera, and jazz. When I teach lessons I care much about the process, warmups, the anatomy, music theory, getting into character, vocal technique, and I have a kind and holistic approach. I believe music is a gift for everyone and that everyone can succeed. I love teaching beginners the power of music as well as seasoned musicians. I look forward to working with you.

No matter what genre of music or age of student, singing in a healthful and fun way includes great posture, good breath management, and producing a free and easy sound.I believe that each student has their own unique way of learning, so I tailor my lessons to fit. Immediate feedback and specific practice instructions help my students gain a sense of confidence and assess their progress. Last but not least, singing should be fun!
