About Jill
Jill holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and has master's work in choral music and Orff-Schulwerk. For many years Jill has taught private and group music lessons to all ages with many varying styles of singing and instrumental music. Her lessons are unlike the ones she remembers from childhood; Jill's lessons are full of creativity, fun and excitement. It is amazing how students improve with each lesson. Jill brings more than just technique to the studio, she strives to find the best in each student and then concentrates on improving each individual's strengths and then delves into ways to correct the weaknesses.

Since Jill is a vocal soloist, instrumentalist, accompanist and music director, she knows what it takes to prepare and rehearse and therefore she makes it clear which concept the student will be working on during
the lesson. With an instrumental and choral background, Jill brings music to life and then shares with the students how to keep music in their lives forever. Many students who had vocal problems have achieved vocal success after taking several lessons with Jill and learning to keep their voices healthy for the rest of their lives.

Jill has worked with children, teens and adults in many schools, churches and after school programs that she designed. Her success with students who are very young or students who come with disabilities or autistic spectrum diagnosis are moved by the music Jill creates. With the help of the ORFF-SCHULWERK certification, Jill has many ways of reaching children through the use of instruments, rhythm activities, games and other fun ways of learning. Breaking barriers is Jill's best asset, she will not quit until the student has an understanding of the instrument or his/her voice.

The young and the older adults find that taking lessons with Jill has brought them to a place of realizing their potential. Successful stories include pre-school age through students who are retired. The length of time one studies depends on the student's practice and diligence. Many students have started with Jill in preschool or elementary school and have continued through high school and college. Several college age students wanted to improve their singing or instrumental skills so goals were set and met through Jill's successful teaching ability. Several students learn music theory and many students have learned song-writing and creating arrangements.

Many of Jill's students have become better musicians and a considerable number of students have chosen music professions for their careers. Multiple students have won contests, auditioned for parts in musicals, started local bands and have become songwriters and performers after taking lessons with Jill. One student has recently auditioned for American Idol and has made it through several auditions. Teaching a myriad of students from various places in the world who have come to the United States has been a great experience. The cultural differences makes the teaching of these students exciting since Jill learns about music in their own home countries. Some of the students are from China, Norway, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico and many who moved to Florida from some other state in the U.S.A. What a joy it has been to learn to communicate with these students and to verify that music is a universal language. By special request Jill is available for online lessons through internet and devices as well as traveling to student locations when her schedule allows. Students interest in online or in-home lessons should send a message to her to request certain days and times of availability.

"Jill was Steinway Pianos" Concert and Artist Director in Dallas Tx in the 80's, working with Steinway artists and Dallas Symphony, Opera, Ballet and other events like planning pianos for Prince Charles' visit and many other concerts and events. Jill also performed in many Dallas Venues as well as providing pianos for the Cowboys, the clubs, hotels, country clubs and museums including The Dallas Museum of Art.

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, plans succeed. " (Proverbs 15:22) It is Jill's belief that with her teaching qualifications and past record of success with student achievement and great experience studying with wonderful advisers, teaching YOU or YOUR CHILD will be one of success!

*** Lesson Details ***
Jill's teaching technique is flexible. Some students require a stern and strict approach while others seem to work best with more creative license. Jill is open to each student's needs. When booking lessons with Jill, one will find that the first thing she will do is find out more about the student's needs and desires to succeed in their chosen instrument. Meeting goals are important in music and in life!

Because of her flexible approach, method books vary depending on the student's need to succeed. Sometimes young students will need to review several beginning methods until their reading skills are achieved. For the young students, Jill teaches theory and gives the young students time during the lesson to explore musical symbols and try their hands at improvisation, rhythms, manuscripts and creativity.

Some students may desire to learn to play "by ear" or through improvisational skills. Jill is very good with improv and her song writing skills are strong. When a student desires to write music, Jill is there to help with questions about time signatures, note values, key signatures and transpositions.

Taking lessons with Jill is a journey that those who have tried have not had regrets. Several parents and past students would be happy to tell you how their talents and gifts improved after working with Jill for a few months. After three months of working together, Jill will know how to pursue the student's musical career. After 6 months the student will be able to play complete songs and have a sense of basic music theory. The hope is for the student to be confident of their instrument's abilities and to have a list of repertoire for upcoming events in the student's life.

Several of Jill's students have taken their skills, gifts and talents to the professional level. Students who have studied with Jill are professional music directors in high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, churches, soloists and some who are in school studying music as their major. Taking lessons with Jill will be something that will add value to the student's life forever because MUSIC is her life! Without music, the world would be a very dull place and individuals would be unhappy and depressed in every walk of life. Music brings out the beauty of creation and man's ability to skillfully play an instrument for pleasure or for one's occupation.

The act of singing changes the chemistry of our bodies! A team of German scientists have found that vocalizing spurs the production of oxytocin, a hormone commonly referred to as the "love" molecule. Oxytocin is known to heighten happiness, well-being, trust and reduce stress and anxiety. We will practice breathing exercises (pranayama) to increase breath capacity and control. You will learn techniques to smooth the break (passagio) to sing with a connected tone. You will know how to engage the "yawning" muscles (soft palate, mylohyoid, sternohyoid, thyrohyoid) to maximize resonance. We will practice exercises to relax the tongue and jaw to project high notes effortlessly. Developing "middle voice" will extend our vocal range and eliminate strain and fatigue. We will choose repertoire that highlights your vocal strengths and discuss stage presence and expression through song. I highly recommend "The New Voice" by Alan Greene.

About Nicole
"To play wrong notes is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable." - Beethoven

I was five years old when I discovered my singing voice. My youthful curiosity soon blossomed into a passion for musical expression through voice, violin, piano, and guitar. My mission is to share the musical exploration that has enriched my life by fostering my students' desires to express themselves through music.

As a teacher, I focus equally on formal technique and artistic expression. Mastering correct form provides the foundation upon which a student’s capacity for the latter may grow. Techniques used during lessons are designed to develop a holistic understanding of music through aural, visual, and tactile cues. These include ear training, sight-reading, improvisation and using visualization to navigate the instrument. Progress is e
valuated by developing a set of goals specific to each student. I find that allowing students input in originating goals facilitates a cooperative learning environment and allows me to tailor lessons to a student's interests, strengths and learning preferences. Providing students with a plan to succeed inspires a drive to learn and sense of achievement. I encourage students to play their instruments daily. Through consistent practice, students will benefit from increased discipline, patience, creativity and self-esteem. Students are rewarded with the chance to share what they've learned at recitals held biannually. For the duration of our lesson, my students are in a private, nurturing zone of free expression. Join me in an exploration of personal talent and creativity!

Nicole has performed with the Rollins College Bach Festival Society Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. John V. Sinclair. She has also performed with the Florida Space Coast Philharmonic under the direction of Dr. Candler Schaffer. She is experienced as a session musician, recording vocals and violin at Wright Entertainment Group Studios (Justin Timberlake) with producer Will Baker (India Arie, Pink). She has performed as a soloist at the White House, Bob Carr Performing Arts Center, Amway Arena, and Hard Rock Live.

Nicole holds Bachelor of Arts degrees (with honors) in Music and Anthropology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Rollins College. A member of the Honors Program (top 2%), and one of nine Cornell Scholars in her graduating class, she is very grateful to have been awarded a full academic scholarship. Nicole pursued concentrations in Violin and Vocal Performance, as well as Ethnomusicology. Nicole served as co-concertmaster of the Rollins College Orchestra and String Ensemble for three, consecutive years, under the direction of Dr. John V. Sinclair. She was featured at Christmas Vesper services in a solo performance of Winter (The Four Seasons) by Vivaldi, at the Knowles Memorial Chapel. Nicole has studied violin with Joni Roos and Alvaro Gomez, protege of David Oistrakh. She has performed as a soloist with the Rollins College Gospel and Concert Choirs and studied vocal pedagogy and performance with Dr. Edmund Leroy and Dr. Lori Lovell. At Rollins, Nicole studied piano with Dr. Gloria Cook and enjoys playing classical, jazz, and Latin styles. Nicole has studied classical guitar for seven years and especially enjoys playing Latin American folk music and flamenco. Nicole pursued her love of world music in publishing her senior honors thesis, “Cultural Fusion of Music Constructs: A Look at Hybrid World Styles,” analyzing the effects of globalization on traditional, ethnic musics. She has published research in the Rollins Undergraduate Research Journal, where she also served as Music and Anthropology Editor for three years.

Professionally singing for almost 35 years. Every student's voice lesson is tailored to each student's abilities and goals. Karaoke and YouTube provide immediate access to today's music and full arrangements which allow student to get a bigger experience with singing.

About Natalie
Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, at the age of 9, Natalie knew music was something that was just a part of who she was. Writing songs on the piano before lessons could be scheduled, Natalie found herself immersed in a medium that would bring her joy for the rest of her life.

By age 14 Natalie had won several trophies competing in Classical piano with the Illinois Music Association.

As an adult, she would go on to fill her life with the world of music as a singer, songwriter, performer and recording artist.

Graduating from Elmhurst College (1997) with a Bachelor's in Music, Natalie received high accolades earning a membership in the Lambda Sigma Psi Music Honor Society.

During her college years, Natalie created and owned a local music publication called, "The Local Buzz". At this moment she had discovered her
desire to teach. "I just wanted everyone I knew in music to know and use what I was learning, or had learned from the music classes, professionals I had been meeting and working with, and my overall music life experiences". By 1997, Natalie was signed to an independent label and embarked on a new adventure.

"Music is an adventure, but without the foundation and passion I had as a child, I would have never landed where I did. I truly LOVE to teach and share what I know about piano, and the world of music. Music is what I know, and know best. Helping to create a solid foundation and build confidence in someone embarking on a journey in music is the most rewarding profession I have ever had the honor of participating in."

In singing lessons, you will learn about the facets of the human vocal instrument and how to use your voice in a healthy and pleasant way. Emphasis is placed on healthy singing habits such as proper breathing, accessing/connecting head and chest voice, and pitch matching.

About Monica
***Prospective students, please note: My availability is very limited as I have a full studio of students! Please check my availability calendar before signing up for lessons. Thanks!***

My first priority is instilling a love for the arts into any student I teach. No matter what the skill level is, I want my students to love music and learning. I believe in setting the students up for success while also challenging them to be their best.
My experience as a classroom teacher is useful in helping me understand different types of students and cater to their individual needs and learning styles. I have experience teaching both private piano and voice, as well as experience in putting together recitals and stage shows. I have a degree in music from the University of Central Florida, which has allowed me to receive diverse ty
pes of musical education as well as hands-on experience in teaching methods.
A student of mine will not only learn techniques specific to their instrument, but also a more broad range of music theory and performance knowledge which will apply to any other musical endeavor they may wish to pursue.

*** Lesson Details ***
I offer a relaxed environment where students will be given new challenges and information without feeling pressured or stressed out. I want to make learning fun while also giving them a firm grasp on the techniques and practices. I use a variety of music books and series such as Piano Adventures, but I also like to find out what type of music the student is interested in playing and cater the curriculum to their needs.
After the first set of piano lessons, most of my students will know the basics of reading music/music theory and basic practice techniques. After a few months, they will be able to read and play a piece of music on their own. Depending on the level of skill and hard work, students can progress quickly and they will love showing off their new skills to their friends and families.
In voice lessons, students have an opportunity to focus on their personal goals while being guided toward healthy singing habits and optimal tone. Students can work with me to choose their own repertoire, and we use primarily karaoke tracks so that I can focus on the vocals and pinpoint problematic areas.
Performance opportunities and recitals are given at least semi-annually, so that students can be given a chance to show off their new skills! Our annual formal recital is also a benefit to raise money for various children's charities. We also have a studio Youtube channel where student performances are posted regularly!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a keyboard if necessary for the first lesson, but all piano students will be expected to own their own keyboard or piano within the first month of lessons. I buy method books for students and expect reimbursement, but this is a minimal expense. I provide many pieces of sheet music, folders, and additional teaching materials free of charge.

*** Specialties ***
"Head voice" singing for children, sight reading practices for piano, Broadway singing and performance, opera singing and performance

Care must be taken to develop the voice properly. Emphasis on younger students is placed on "appoggio" breathing as described in the Bel-Canto method of breathing. "Belting" is discouraged until the student has fully developed traditional Bel-Canto Techniques.

About Scott
Scott S. has been active as a performer and music teacher for over 30 years.

His teaching experience includes 5 years in the public schools of Connecticut and Massachusetts at both the High School and Junior High School levels, teaching voice, piano, music theory, music appreciation, music history and chorus.

As a conductor and music director, Scott has served at a number of churches including St. Mark United Church, Valrico, FL and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Winter Park, FL. He is also the former Assistant Director of the Warwick Chorale of Warwick, RI.

I will train you for recitals, competitions, a music career, or just for fun! With extensive experience in classical and contemporary music, I put equal focus on technique and fostering a musician'€™s personal style and passion for music.

A recorder is available so students can track their performance audibly!

I make special efforts to invest in each student's particular needs, utilizing a variety of tools such as flash cards and supplemental workbooks, e.g. ear training, sight reading, note spelling, etc.

I offer the option to include MIDI training (recording) as part of lesson time so the student can learn to arrange, compose, and/or produce their own music as well.

All ages and levels welcome.
For voice students, it is recommended that a beginning student be at least 12 years of age, due to the dangers of damaging the instrument due to proper misuse of the voice.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home studio includes grand piano, music stand, portable recorder and teaching materials. Also available is an electronic keyboard, amplification, computer with recording software, microphones and music printing capability.

*** Travel Equipment ***
All teaching is in my home studio.
Electronic equipment is available for outside recitals or performances as needed.

So you want to learn how to sing! Great! I'd love to help you!

I've been singing professionally at Walt Disney World for over 22 years (and still singing there). It is (and has been) a dream job. I sing with The Voices of Liberty at Epcot and The Dapper Dans of Main Street at The Magic Kingdom.

Also, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Penn State with an emphasis in Voice.

I want to help you to sing as musically as you possibly can while maintaining excellent vocal health. I want people to be in "awe" when they hear you sing. Let's get started!

About Kevin
Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m
usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.

I have been teaching voice and piano in the Dr. Phillips and Windermere area for four years. My studio is a fun learning environment and I take great pride in finding out what each students' goals are. I have two studios, one in Windermere and one in Dr. Phillips, for convenience. I do travel to students' homes on occasion, if my schedule allows. Lastly, there is always a very fun end-of-the-year recital.

Please note for singing, I teach a classical technique that lends itself to Classical and Musical Theatre types of singing.

My experience in music starts from an early age playing piano and singing in choirs. I attended Dr. Phillips High School, was apart of the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet and graduated with the Voice Department's Most Outstanding Graduate Award. I eventually earned a B.M. in Voice Performance from Palm Beac
h Atlantic University and I have recently received my Masters from UCF in Music.

Here is my professional bio:

Kristen, mezzo-soprano, has appeared as a soloist with the Palm Beach Symphony, Palm Beach Atlantic University Concert Choir, Palm Beach Atlantic University Oratorio Chorus and in the Palm Beach Atlantic International Piano Festival. Kristen has been a featured staff soloist in recital, concert and worship with the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach. She has also been seen on the opera stage as part of the chorus with Florida Opera Theatre and Palm Beach Atlantic’s Opera Workshop performing scenes as Rosina in Il barbieri di Siviglia and Cheubino in Le Nozze di Figaro.

Kristen as a chorister, has sung with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Choir, Atlanta’s up and coming Chamber Choir, Coro Vocati and Miami’s Seraphic Fire in their Professional Choral Institute Program. She has recorded with Stetson University’s Concert Choir: Duruflé Requiem and Seraphic Fire’s Professional Choral Institute, Brahms’ Ein Deutches Reqiuem, Op. 45, which was honored with a GRAMMY nomination.

A native of Florida, Kristen received her B.M. in Voice Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She graduated cum laude, as a member of Who’s Who Among Universities and Colleges and received the University's Music Department’s Outstanding Graduate Award. Recently, Kristen received her M.A. in Music at the University of Central Florida.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to answer them!
