Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prospers in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career. And the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of music that will always enrich their lives.

I begin each voice lesson with a warm-up to prepare the student for their session. Next, we do a series of exercises specially designed to help each individual develop their skill in a way that best fits them. We then work on a piece of their choice for the remainder of the lesson, perfecting their technique and helping them become performance ready. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good habit of practice.

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I want to help my students develop their vocal ability by meeting them where they are and applying the lessons I have learned from practical experience as well as from what I have been taught. My goal is to equip students with the skills so that they can develop a reliable technique that works under all situations.

In 2013, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies (with regular appearances at Dallas Opera) and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I was an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera from 2011-2012. I received my Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts, my M.M. in Voice Performance from Boston University and my B.M. in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College.

I am studying to become a professional classical singer. Through my own training, I have discovered that having an amazing teacher – one who is supportive, caring, and hard working, and who will push you and work with you to be better – is the most important tool an aspiring musician can have. I believe that every student is different, as no person's body is the same, and no vocal instrument is the same. Based on my performance in the Teaching of Singing course at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I was selected to be a voice teacher to non-Conservatory students at Oberlin College. I have now had several students, two of whom, with my assistance, have just been accepted to prestigious summer programs in classical voice. Though I have only been teaching voice to others for a year now, I have been teaching myself alongside my own teachers through practice and independent work for the past nine years, and I have discovered countless techniques and tricks to help every aspect of singing.

I am an opera and musical theatre performer with years of teaching experience. I offer voice lessons for all genres and abilities, beginning piano lessons, and acting coachings.

I am trained and have experience in opera, musical theatre, pop music, and other genres, and I am eager to teach students of all ages and abilities! I aim to facilitate a positive, enjoyable learning environment that is constructive and productive.

My students have performed in professional and community theatre productions, have won local competitions, and have been invited to national auditions. I have music directed several musicals and summer camps, including Annie and Captain Louie.

I have been singing as long as I can remember and teaching for more than 20 years.

Because the voice is uniquely individual, my approach to each student is strictly based on their needs as a vocalist. I listen to each student and develop a program for development based on the needs I hear as well as the desires of the student.

Of course, good technique is universal and there are some exercised I use with all of my vocalists to develop good habits.
