About: I am a classically trained singer, music teacher, songwriter, podcaster, and a gigging & studio vocalist in pop, jazz, blues, R&B, and country. I began performing twenty years ago after my junior high school principal encouraged me to join the school choir! I then started studying voice in high school and singing has been my focus ever since. I always have felt as long as you love it, practice it, and pursue it you'll always achieve it! I have performed alongside Seal, Mavis Staples, Spiritualized, Leon Bridges, while having the great pleasure of singing in front of Sidney Portier!

Education: I graduated from UC Riverside with a BA in music and an emphasis in vocal performance. I trained classically under William Hanrahan at UC Riverside. Christina works with young singers of all experience levels and musical interests. In addition to teaching healthy vocal technique, she believes in establishing a strong musical foundation for singers and loves helping them on their journey to discovering and embracing their own unique instrument!

With over fifteen years of vocal training, Christina has a diverse array of performance and teaching experience in musical styles such as Opera and Musical Theatre, to Contemporary styles. She specializes in comprehensive audition prep and teaches music theory and aural skills.

Christina would love to help you work toward your specific goals, whether it be crushing that upcoming audition, building long-term confidence and skills, or simply for the joy of singing and music-making!

Singing is the most wonderful thing in the world! First of all you don't need anything besides- you! And you can do it anywhere (I've gotten requests at work before!) Then it's also relaxing and fun and it makes everybody happy, not just you but also the people around you! It help to connect with your own emotions as well as stimulating empathy! When I meet a new student, my goal is first to get to know you and find out your personal preferences in music. Carolyn is a true triple threat teacher. She began working professionally at 8 years old and has since appeared on stage, in national commercials, recorded voiceovers, and booked principal roles in both film and television. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011 from the Boston Conservatory, where she majored in musical theater with an emphasis in directing. She is currently in the hit Off-Broadway shows “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” and “My Big Gay Italian Funeral”. In her spare time, Carolyn has always loved working with people who have a passion for the arts. Whether it’s in a classroom, at a dance studio, or sitting at the piano, Carolyn has worn the many hats of acting coach, voice teacher, dance instructor, music theory tutor, piano teacher, and college audition coach to name a few.
