Becky was a phenomenal instructor! She has a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and music is obviously a large part of her life. She provides great analogies to help her students grasp concepts. And she inquired about my goals and was a great resource for pursuing them. I had to suspend my lessons because life got a little too busy, but if I find the time again, I'd definitely look to return to her for instruction.

About Jon
My life long passions have been for guitar, music, and business. I received my very first guitar at the age of 12 years old and have been studying, playing, and improvising ever since with over 28 years of experience. I have had the honor to train under some of the finest Guitarists in the Chicagoland area: Dave Uhrich, Eric Mantel, Toshi Iseda, and Tom Hess.

I have performed as lead guitarist on worship teams for over 15 years, currently at Kenosha Bible Church. As the lead guitarist of Aural Groove, I recorded under industry pro Michael Charles of Moonlight Studios. As lead singer and guitarist of Manna (an acoustic duo) I recorded under Rex Carroll of Whitecross.

I teach and train in a method I have coined "8 Cycle Guitar". This approach alternates areas of focus each week; like a fitness program. By routinely rotating through t
he 8 cycles of guitar training, the student gains the skill needed to master the instrument quickly and effectively.

My Promise to you, simply put, "You Will Learn to Play the Guitar, period." I will be your own personal Guitar Coach. Look through the pics in my profile. 90% or more of those students started out as absolute beginners. I will help to keep things moving along, keep you motivated, keep you inspired, and keep the lessons fun.

What do I want in return: committed students, students who show up to their lessons, students who will practice a half hour per day or more, 5 to 7 days per week. Students who do not use the words "I can't," but instead use the words "How can I? Please show me."

I am here to teach, train, coach, and mentor you to the best of my ability. If you do the things I request you to do in and outside of your lessons...I personally guarantee you will learn to play the guitar and impress all your friends and family.

Let's start this journey together. You won't regret your decision.

I am a music teacher in Southeastern Wisconsin, specializing in clarinet and harp. I graduated from VanderCook College of Music, and previously studied clarinet at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. I have been playing harp for more than 15 years, performing for various events, both as a soloist and in ensembles. Clarinet and Saxophone were next, widening my performance experience, and inspiring me to continue learning to play and teach various instruments. I added other woodwind and brass instruments into my repertoire until I became a certified K-12 music teacher. I still perform, but my main focus will always be teaching!

Instrumental lessons are ideal for school music students, but are available for anyone who wants to learn. Your goals determine our progression, and it's never too late to start!

Harp can be a daunting instrument
for beginners, and I strive to make it as accessible as possible. Students may choose to play on my harp for as long as they would like before purchasing their own instrument.

I am a professional singer in the Milwaukee area currently performing with a band that plays original pop/rock music and as a member of several professional choruses, such as Bel Canto, in which I am a section leader and soloist. I learned to sing by taking lessons at a young age which progressed into a degree in vocal music education from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. After teaching at two different schools in the Greater Milwaukee Area I moved onto teaching individual voice lessons, as it fit my teaching style better.

Students taking lessons in my studio can expect to learn something new every week while reviewing old material to maintain peak performance level. I pick lessons based on fixing flaws in individual voices that I hear as well as building strengths. I've narrowed all vocal techniques into a list of seven categor
ies, from which I pick one per week to focus on. The list is: 1. Thinking 2. Posture 3. Breathing 4. Phonation 5. Resonance 6. Articulation and 7. Communication.

Once students understand what they are doing and how to control it, they will be able to sing whatever style song they would like. It is my philosophy that good singing should never be an accident.

About Krystal
I have been teaching private trumpet lessons since 2006 and have been playing professionally for nearly as long. I received my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education (505, 506) from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2009. I spent a year teaching privately and gigging, and went back to school for my Master of Music in 2010. I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013 with my Master of Music in Trumpet Performance and Wind Conducting. I spent my time at UW-M as a Graduate Conducting Associate and Teaching Assistant, working with students ranging from middle school through post-college. Since then, I have been maintaining a regular trumpet studio and freelancing in southeast Wisconsin.

I have performed in a wide variety of groups and ensembles throughout the years; consequently, I am comfortable teaching a
wide variety of styles to a variety of age groups. I have performed with the Madison Chamber Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra, and the Milwaukee Philharmonic. I am a regular member with Milwaukee Festival Brass, a European-style brass band, as principal solo cornet, as well as the Beloit-Janesville Symphony on Principal Trumpet. Contrastingly, I also freelance regularly with New Orleans-style brass bands similar to Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, jazz ensembles (I am an active member in the East Side Jazz Orchestra), funk and blues bands, in ensembles accompanying professional choirs, and for religious services in the Milwaukee area.

My daughter has been taking trumpet lessons with Krystal for many years and loves her time with her. She is professional in all ways and has limitless knowledge of the instrument. My daughter has faced a few challenges since starting and Krystal has gotten her through them all, working with her to prepare my daughter to audition for and be placed as one of the youngest students in our local community youth orchestra, as well as earn first ratings on her district solos. She is beyond accommodating with our hectic schedule, which is incredibly rare for a private instructor. Krystal is a huge reason my daughter loves playing as much as she does and I cannot recommend her enough. As a parent, the most important aspects I require in a private instructor are a love of music and a love of teaching. Krystal embodies these both, and we are lucky to have found her.
