chair in the 9th grade Orchestra in seventh grade. I took trumpet lessons a=
t Kennelly Keys at Arts Food Center on Holman Road in Seattle. Roy Kennelly
told me at the time that if I wanted to be a musician that I would have to=
get used to playing the same thing over and over again. I took that to hea=
rt and try to impart the same type of philosophy to my students.
I periodically take trumpet lessons in the Seattle area to brush up on my c=

Lessons are tailored to each individual student with a strong foundation in the set-up of the instrument, note-reading, intonation, and especially the knowledge of how to practice. I believe that teaching students the correct way of practicing makes taking private lessons even more exhilarating and fun! I enjoy teaching all genres of music from classical to any of today's tunes that a student is wanting to learn. Taking private lessons isn't only about learning how to play the instrument. You are also learning how to manage time, take responsibility, be creative, and be respectful of an art form that has been around for a very long time. Lessons with me are fun and go by so quick, you wish that we still had another hour to dive into the things you want to learn!

Classical piano is very beautiful. Your fist homework assignment is to listen to it regularly to begin to understand it. Piano is a very logical instrument. I will break everything down for you in a simple way for you to understand. We will learn different styles and genres to make things interesting. We will learn how to write a song, play along to a track and learn to play by ear and by reading music.

"I couldn't be happier with Judy as a piano teacher. We cover a vast amount of material during our lessons. She is fun, intuitive and very supportive of my efforts. I have taken piano lessons in the past, but I didn't really "learn" how to play. Judy provides a spectrum of materials which help me to not only play songs, but hone my skills and explains the "why" and "how" of the way music works in an understandable way. She also has a very flexible schedule, which helps greatly. I would highly recommend her."

"I've been taking lessons with Raymond for a few years now and plan to keep taking them for as long as I can! Each lesson is a great experience because I learn so much. Even if I play the same piece for a few weeks, Raymond shows me a new detail, technique, or perspective related to it so I'm always stimulated and inspired to try to practice and improve. For Raymond, music is a way of life, and he expresses all of the dedication and artistry that that fact entails. I'm always in a better mood after lessons. And so glad that I decided to try lessons with Raymond!"

The warm and bright tone of the ukulele instantly transports you to a tropical island. The instrument had its beginnings on the island of Madeira off the coast of Portugal. The word “ukulele” literally means “jumping flea,” due to the fact that the Hawaiians played all over the strings, jumping around as it were. Today, dozens of YouTube vloggers transpose popular songs for the ukulele, giving classic tune …
