Michelle feels it is incredibly important that all vocal/singing students have at least a basic understanding of music theory, reading music and ear training. This greatly assists them as they mature as a singer and as a performer, giving them the confidence, skills and knowledge to thrive in their musical endeavors. Michelle designs a specific curriculum for each student’s goals and needs so that these important music skills can be fun and accessible to anyone.

About Michelle

I believe that everyone can sing, it is just a matter of learning how to use your own unique instrument. From a very young age, as a performer, I was sharing my love of the arts with others. I grew up with an immense appreciation for the self-expression and creativity that result from all forms of

My son really enjoyed his first lesson. He is looking forward to the next session 😊.

I recently began singing again after a year and was very unconfident in my voice and my ability to improve. Albino was the perfect instructor for someone like me because of his patience and positivity. He was able to point out issues with my singing technique or provide feedback in a very positive way, without seeming critical. Whenever I was confused about something, he would work with me non-stop until I understood. Albino inspires confidence in all his students, and I highly recommend him as a teacher!

"Frances is one of the most qualified voice teachers in the greater Phoenix valley. You can stop considering any other voice teacher options right now. In addition to being an impressive and award-winning singer in both operatic and musical theatre genres, she is an excellent pedagogue who has studied the anatomy and physiology of the human voice with qualified professors at ASU. Her application of both her experience and knowledge is immensely helpful and her teaching is clear, direct, friendly, and focused. As someone who has worked with vocal professors at numerous universities on the east coast, vocal coaches on touring Broadway shows, as a choir director, and as a chorus master of operas, believe me when I say that Frances is one of the best and most qualified voice teachers I've encountered. It can be unhealthy to study with someone less qualified and experienced as Frances is. She's also wonderfully grounded, non-pretentious, and has a great sense of humor. She has my highest recommendation as a voice teacher (not something I've said before in my 17+ years of being a professional musician.) Choosing to study voice with her will be one of the best and healthiest choices you can make for your voice."

"Cory was kind and outstandingly patient with my 5-year-old son. I love the way he used repetition, provided memory tricks, and encouraged frequent participation to really sink home the lessons. In tandem with beatboxing techniques, Cory also introduced my little guy to percussion instruments and reviewed letters of the alphabet. My son really enjoyed himself, and has been playing with his new beatbox skills all day. A truly first class lesson experience - we can't wait for the next one!"

"Kyle is a fantastic guitar teacher! He takes the time to show you how to play guitar with good fundamentals, and teaches you a little bit of music theory along the way without making it complicated. I tried learning on my own using online TABs and Youtube videos and a game called Rocksmith. This was a good start, but eventually I hit a wall and wasn’t really progressing. Kyle has really helped me develop my skills. We went over all the basics like how to hold a pick, how to hold the guitar, how to play single notes vs. chords, palm muting and alternate picking. I was missing all of this technique before and I was actually making playing the guitar more difficult than it needed to be! Kyle explained it all in a very easy to understand way and gives you as much detail as you need. I like lots of detail, so we went over everything! He knows a lot of little tips and tricks from playing as long as he has and this is the kind of priceless information you can't get elsewhere. He's very easy to talk to and has a breadth of knowledge on all kinds of music. We normally geek out about anything from Jimi Hendrix to 90’s music to more modern music and everything in between. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is – highly recommended!"

The Surprising Benefit of Learning Guitar Without Sheet Music

We've talked about how to read chords and tabs before on the blog -- but what about a new approach of learning guitar without sheet music at all? Here, Austin, TX teacher Samuel B. explains his teaching technique...   During my college years, I was given a brief introduction to instructional methods common to Japan. Specifically, I was told that playing the shamisen or the koto (two native stringed instruments) is a skill learned by way of the student facing the teacher and playing w …
