I have been teaching guitar and music theory for over 20 years and have been successful in helping many people to understand how to make the guitar applicable in any musical situation.

I specialize in explaining exact details that are constantly glossed over in YouTube videos and in most instructional environments. I teach in a manner that instructs the student to become self-reliant, to eventually become their own teacher.

Have you ever wanted to play violin, but never knew where to start? Do you have trouble learning correct technique, practice strategies, or struggle finding good repertoire to learn? Well, you've come to the right place!

In our first lesson, I will likely ask you to demonstrate your level to me, either by telling me or showing me what you know. I will use this to better understand your strengths and weaknesses and go from there. You can expect to come away from our first lesson with some learning materials, a plan for going forward, and an encouraging start to our journey as musicians together!

Some examples of things students can learn from me include: expanding repertoire, ear training, music reading, improvising, jamming, music theory, and technique.

I’m Jacob, a Juilliard-educated baritone singing and teaching around the world. I currently offer remote lessons from my home studio outside Washington, DC. I teach consistent, confident technique in any style—classical to contemporary—and welcome students of all skill levels and backgrounds. My only expectations are clear communication, dedication, and a commitment to vocal happiness and health.

I hold degrees in music from the Juilliard School (‘18) and Brown University (‘13). As a performer, I sang the 2019-20 season in Strasbourg, France, following my European début in Salzburg, Austria. I’ve sung in major houses including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse.

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.

I love teaching people how to play songs they enjoy! I'm not too focused on music theory, but am more interested on giving you the tools to play your favorite songs! Playing guitar doesn't have to be difficult or boring. Whether you want to play the Beatles on an acoustic guitar, learn your favorite Metallica riffs or even learn the basics to play at church...I'm your teacher!

Been playing piano since age 5, flute since 4th grade and much more music encompassing a lot in the classical field, some jazz and other genres as well. I have a Master's degree in wind conducting and am fully capable of teaching any standard subject in music.
