Whether singing is your chosen career or just a treasured hobby, my goal is to help you succeed! I offer voice lessons to students of all backgrounds, ages and a variety of styles. I take a healthy, classical vocal approach to encourage freedom, ease and power in the voice. A student of Bel Canto, Alexander Technique and Yoga, I incorporate a full body approach to singing. My students range from amateurs to Broadway talent. I have prepared students to perform on stage, book agents, and to be featured in television and film. My younger students have been accepted into top performing arts programs such as The Professional Performing Arts School, Interlochen Center for the Arts and various conservatory programs.

Singing of all kinds begins with healthy vocal technique. Learning the correct warming up and use of the voice and breath is essential for a career in singing with any longevity. I use a combination of classical (bel canto) and contemporary styles of singing to bring out the best in each student's voice. My work with world renowned Vocal Instructor Jeanne LoVetri, has increased my proficiency in helping students with many kinds of vocal issues, at all levels of experience. We will work on breathing, range, voice blending, resonance, flexibility, projection and articulation. I am excellent at diagnosing and resolving vocal issues, as well as teaching students to connect to their material and sing with ease and expression.

I have been teaching this subject for over 10 years. I have a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Vocal Pedagogy. My students can expect vocal technique through warmups, appropriate repertoire selection, language guidance, and an integration of singing and acting (performance skill) appropriate for auditions. We will work on consistency of resonance, intonation, breath, and interpretation.

As a vocalist trained in Classical, Jazz, and popular styles of music, I have come to understand that the art of singing is inherently a highly emotional, physical and intellectual experience. With precise discipline, motivation and perseverance, music can seemingly fall into place. When these elements are united in preparation for a performance, the voice becomes free and the possibilities seem endless. My goal as a an artist and teacher is to discover these boundless possibilities for myself and therefore my students.

To best do this, I have adopted an adaptive and collaborative style of teaching. At the start of each semester I assess each student’s unique strengths, goals, and expectations. Once this is done I am able to create a personalized lesson plan that will evolve as each student progresses in his or her training.
