I have been singing since I was old enough to sing and it's something I do professionally almost every day. I will teach you some basic techniques such as breathing, posture, singing exercises and how to select a repertoire that best fits you. From there, we will go on to develop your goals as a vocalist and make you feel great about taking the floor, whether it be at karaoke, a party, the stage or your living room. I'm excited to meet you and sing with you!

About Jessica
Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. Please feel free to ask me any questions. -Jessica

***About Jessica***
Jessica is known worldwide for her music which incorporates her original comedy, artwork and videos. She spent a decade touring the US and the UK and has performed in many festivals including the Reading & Leeds Festival, Latitude Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dublin Comedy Festival, End of the Road Festival, NY Funny Songs Festival, NY International Children’s Film Festival and more.

Jessica’s music and comedy is inspired by being the oldest of 6 girls and growing up in a small town in Maine, where she taught Sunday school and counseled teens and twins in a local after school program for four years. When Jessica was 19, she moved to Philadelphia to study animation after receiving a par
tial scholarship to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and relocated to NYC shortly after graduating.

Her unique music, performances, art and internet videos have won many awards and critical acclaim.

She has performed her music and written segments and songs for television (including ABC’s “Good Morning America”, MTV’s “I Bet You Will”, Fox News “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld”, IFC's "Comedy Music Hall of Fame", HGTV's Flea Market Flip, TBS’s “Saving Grace” website and “The Tyra Banks Show”), radio (including "The Dr. Demento Show", "The Jackie Martling Show", WFMU's "Spreading Yourself Thin with Jessica D" and “The Opie and Anthony Radio Show” on SiriusXM, BBC’s “Loose Ends Radio Programme” and BBC’s “The Simone Show” in the UK), feature films (including “What Would Jesus Buy?” directed by Morgan Spurlock), commercially for major clients and also on stages across the US and the UK (including London’s prestigious Soho Theatre, NYC’s Irving Plaza, Joe’s Pub and The Bowery Ballroom as John Waters’ opening act, and LA’s Troubadour).

*** Lesson Details ***
Jessica brings a lot of fun to her lessons. She is like a cool aunt or a big sister who likes to have a good time but who also wants to teach you to play guitar or ukulele and sing, hopefully at the same time. Jessica's laid back style and attention to your needs as a student will help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Together, you will go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you. Jessica works with classic rock, pop, folk and all your favorite songs as your step ladder for learning. Jessica also can help you develop your own musical style and teach you to write YOUR OWN SONGS from beginning to end, if that is of interest to you.

*** Studio Equipment ***
amp, microphone, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, music stands

*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar and Ukulele. Students can rent instruments initially but must get their own, as soon as possible

*** Specialties ***
Classic stringed instruments such as acoustic / electric guitar and ukulele, and several unusual instruments such as singing saw and electronic and standard autoharp, singing, songwriting and guidance on how to monetize your band, including acquiring sponsorships and arranging local and international tours.

***What Are Lessons Like?***
Student(s) and teacher sit together and start with the basics, then move on to learn others' songs (The Beatles or other classics are a good place to start) and then may even try to compose original songs, if that is of interest.

Jessica is a virtuoso on the ukulele. She has the patience of a saint with less than adept students. Yet she is insistent, in a gentle way, about instilling correct form in her students' approach to the uke. In addition, she is a walking encyclopedia of songs that span the range from traditional to standards to current day favorites, and from country to r&B to rock and roll.

About Eric
I'm the vocalist, lead guitarist & songwriter for a well-known touring rock band with a worldwide fan base and over 3 million You Tube views. I graduated from New York University with Bachelor's of Music in Jazz guitar and trained with the most highly respected rock/pop vocal coaches in the world. I'm currently teaching students of all skill levels (beginner to professional), locally, nationally and internationally. I am experienced, versatile, dedicated, and highly trained which helps to make lessons easy, stress, free and fun.

I play in 3 active bands (gigging regularly) & produce/cowrite with a number of artists for their own projects. I spent much of the past 15 years touring, writing and recording with my bands and with internationally known artists/celebrities. My songs have been licensed for national/international TV (E!, MTV,
VH1, Oxygen, TBS and more), commercials for CBS, Nike, Coca-Cola, Samsung and in video games. Recently, I contributed to the development of an iOS meditation/breathing app.

In 2015, I signed a major label publishing deal with Fieldhouse Music/BMG played throughout Europe (and taught online lessons while away). Since 2016, I have released 3 singles and 2 EPs, for my own projects. I am currently endorsed by PRS guitars, Elixir Strings, & Godin Guitars/Bass Guitars.

I teach my clients in my creative and comfortable home teaching studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I work with Vocalists/Singers, guitarists/bassists, pianists & songwriters/producers/composers in a wide age range and of various skill levels. I help my students reach their goals!

I regularly teach these styles: Rock (Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative Rock, Hard Rock), Metal, Punk, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Blues, Funk, Soul, Classical, Folk.

I'm highly experienced as an online (Skype, Facetime and G+) instructor, teaching online lessons worldwide for the past 4 years to students who reside locally, nationally and even internationally.

Lead and Rhythm Guitar:

I've developed a step-by-step approach to learning to solo and improvise.
Using simple, "guitarist-friendly” techniques you will quickly learn and begin to apply major/minor scales/modes, blues/pentatonic scales and “licks.” You will learn triads, arpeggios, interval studies, and extensions and how to use them to create interesting and melodic solos. With my line development/phrasing techniques, you will have your own library of “licks” that will help you navigate both simple and sophisticated harmonic progressions. I will help you to become a become a well-rounded, three-dimensional guitarist with a unique voice!

A few of techniques I teach:

∙ triads / arpeggios
∙ strumming
∙ alternate/sweep picking
∙ tremolo picking
∙ hybrid picking
∙ scales/modes
∙ slide guitar
∙ hammer on/pull off
∙ (up to 8 finger) tapping
∙ bending / double stops / unison bends
∙ whammy bar techniques
∙ diagonal scales,
∙ arpeggios & note groupings
∙ 3 and 4 finger per string scales
∙ fingerstyle
∙ Jazz scales, chords including
4 note open/closed voicing
7th, 9th, 11th, 13th chords
∙ chord melodies
∙ rhythm and grooves of various styles

Bass Guitar:

Right hand:
∙ finger style, pick
∙ slapping/popping
∙ groove, rhythms and playing time
∙ time signatures, walking bass lines,
∙ arpeggios, double stops,
∙ chords & improvising
∙ writing bass lines.

All of my students learn:

Sight reading (standard notation/tablature)
∙ music theory & ear training
∙ rhythm / timing (including reading rhythms)
∙ composition/songwriting

We will focus 1/2 of the lesson on repertoire and 1/2 the lesson on technique. Many of my students text/email me a few days prior to our scheduled lesson with a song selection for the week. I focus our lesson's technical study with the song in mind. It has proven to be very effective and makes the technique and theory are less "boring."

Studio Equipment
I have (7) guitars: including (4) electric, (2) acoustic/electric, & (3) electric bass
(2) tube guitar amplifiers, and various guitar effects pedals.

(1) full-size 88-key MIDI keyboard, (1) 61-key USB keyboard controller, and (1) Arturia MINILAB MIDI controller.

Also, I have an assortment of industry standard dynamic & condenser microphones for live performance and recording applications.

DAW recording software (Pro Tools 12.x, Logic 10.x, Ableton Live)
software synthesizers by Arturia, Fabfilter, Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, Steven Slate, Toontrack and more. I use plugin effects by Izotope, Fabfilter, Plugin Alliance and Universal Audio and Waves for many of my lessons and recording projects.

Travel Equipment
I can provide a guitar, videos, music recording, music workbooks and everything else a student may need. I prefer for students to print chord/fretboard & staff paper and bring to their lessons. Although I can do it if they can't. Students should just bring a list of songs they wish to learn to our lessons and a desire to learn

Specialties

I am a performer with a ton of touring/stage experience, a composer who understands the art of writing and a producer who is fluent in the latest recording technology. In addition to technical studies, my students receive performance coaching/career development. I will help you to find your unique voice, a polished and distinct sound, and your true personality as an artist. I am 100% committed to making you a success!

I will recharge your passion for music and making music.

Your singing lessons will be fun! I will teach you with a great classical technique, that will enable you to sing correctly throughout your lifetime.

If you are a special needs student, please ask for more information.

About R. ROBIN
*** Specialties ***
Hi, I'm Robin and have been teaching voice, piano and music theory/composition for many years. I have had a professional career in singing, songwriting and performing, beginning at a very early age. I welcome new students and love bringing out the best in every individual. I also specialize in vocal audition preparation, bringing the student to a higher level of performance, ready to impress and make a great presentation when auditioning. I've had several students audition for The Voice and America's Got Talent, as well as numerous local productions. Below I'll go over a few things I consider very important with a few of the subjects I teach.

For voice lessons, I specialize in teaching what the student has a desire to learn, together with great technique that will last a lifetime. I emphasize breath and diaphragm c
ontrol, flexibility and range extension.

For piano lessons, I combine great technique with a lot of music theory. For piano lessons, I do require the student having 24-hour access to a piano or keyboard. It's nice to have an 88-key, weighted key digital piano or keyboard. If you don't have an 88-key instrument, you want to strive for that. I prefer the student own a 'real' piano, if possible.

When it comes to composition/music theory, I love making it easy to learn, so it is never overwhelming. Learning theory properly can open up a whole world of songwriting. Having a heavy background in composition, I love the creativity that can happen utilizing the tools of music theory.

I can teach students with some special needs. Please use the tool "Ask A Question" to correspond with me more about this. Thanks. Also, I do have 45-minute slots available, it may just not be reflected in my schedule, as the calendar doesn't allow me to show 15-minute time increments. I also have a rare time slot! An every other week time slot on Monday from 1:45 to 2:15. This is a rare occurrence, so if you are interested, I'd grab it ASAP. If any questions about my schedule, please just shoot me a question, I'll we'll talk about it!

My home studio is a fun, relaxed atmosphere and even though I focus heavily on technique, we're always going to have FUN learning and enjoy what we're accomplishing! Please keep in mind that when you schedule with me, I can only hold a time slot for one week for you. Also, if you are under 18 years old, you MUST have an adult sign up and pay for lessons for you. Thanks and I so look forward to meeting you!

I've been playing and singing music professionally for about 25 years. As a family
man and father of two, I also I earn my living and support my family with music. I have a very student-driven teaching style, work with students of all ages, with focus on helping the student achieve his or her individual goals, small or large. I try to keep the lessons fun but focused at the same time.

I bring a balanced and personalized teaching style to my lessons, based on a well rounded education and wide range of real-world life experience. I have a B.A. in Liberal Arts and have performance experience on many different fronts, from local rock cover bands to Top 40, from acoustic soloist to fronting a nationally touring Metallica tribute.

I come from a musical family - my father is also a pro musician. The biggest thing I've learned as a teacher of guitar, bass and voice is teaching the instrument has only made me a bigger student. The learning process never ends and that is one of the great things about music.

No matter where you are with the instrument - a beginner picking it up for the first time, or a seasoned pro of 10 years that just needs help "putting it together," I believe I can help you to get wherever you want to go.

Regarding availability - make sure to inquire if you don't see a time open that suits you - I am flexible. I perform 4-6 times a week and teach full time. Flex lessons tend to work very well.

We'll use warm-ups to work on breath, range, placement, projection, rhythms, solfege (do, re, mi...) and ear training, then apply those techniques to the songs and genre of your choice. With music moving so far into technology, I also like to offer the option of incorporating studio equipment into lessons. This will allow you to learn about mic technique as well as what recording vocals is like! My ultimate goal is to teach you how to better your singing voice in an easy and fun fashion :)

About Calee
With a deep understanding of music, 15 years of studying, and 3 years of teaching under her belt, Calee is equipped to help break things down to make learning music fun and easy. She understands there are many routes to learning music and wants to teach the way you want to learn. Begin your journey with a method book; study your favorite artists; learn how to create songs; discover improvising (this does not exclusively apply to jazz!); become a better sight reader; learn from the classics; learn from Hip-Hop; you get the idea. I want you to learn what you want to learn! Choose any of these routes via voice and/or piano and together we'll make you the musician you've always dreamed of becoming! 😄🎵🎹🎤🙌🏼

Calee has been so helpful already in my short two months that I’ve been taking lessons. She makes things easy to learn and has a great, positive attitude. She’ll give you assignments and practice pieces that will challenge you, but also lets you go totally your own pace. Would 10/10 recommend!

As a young adult, complete novice to learning piano, I really appreciated Calee's approach to learning the basics while keeping it fun and relaxed. She's comfortable to work with and will go at your speed while pushing you to learn more in a gentle and professional manner. She has patience and a welcoming demeanor which makes learning to play enjoyable and a reprieve from the daily grind. She's very respectful of my time and scheduling and easy to get ahold of.
I have had nothing but a good experience with Calee. Highly recommended to other busy adults who want to learn a new hobby :)

Calee is AWESOME! I found her online and I’m so glad I did! I had never taken voice lessons and my experience with her has been fantastic. The newly renovated space she teaches in is really great. In the few months I have been taking lessons I have really seen such tremendous growth. She is well versed in so many areas and really does a great job explaining techniques in ways that are attainable and understandable. I cannot recommend her enough!
