My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!
Steve
Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

As I said in my profile, I play all styles and so I teach all styles. This is an important point as many teachers only teach classical and if you want to learn a song by Sam Smith, the Beatles or perhaps something from "Frozen", they'll say 'buy the sheet music'. I teach music theory (after the fundamentals of music are learned) and if the student desires, he or she can learn how to improvise. This does not mean jazz necessarily, but learning to elaborate on a dull sheet music arrangement.

About David

Greetings, future students. I've been teaching piano for 30 years. I'm a professional pianist working mostly in Manhattan's major hotels. I play all styles of music and so I can teach all styles. Classical (I was accepted to the Juilliard Preparatory School at age 12), pop, jazz, blues, Broadwa

my first lesson with David was great. He makes you feel very comfortable & knows how to highlight the students talents and teach from there. He is also extremely talented. I am looking forward to the rest of my lessons.

Coming back from my third lesson with David, and looking forward for many many more to come. I have been by many teachers before and never had such a good experience. At our first lesson David already knew my strength and weaknesses and together we are working for me to become the "consommé" musician.

Roberta is everything you would want in a teacher. She is exceptionally talented herself and knows how to share her knowledge with others. She is especially very kind and nurturing in an environment which could be quite intimidating for a beginner like me. You can tell she truly enjoys teaching and gets excited to see her pupil learn. I have learned so much in a short time.

I really like Kimberly because she lets me pick my own songs to learn and is really nice in general. She makes music sheets for me to take home and study and I’ve learned a lot from her since my first lesson. I think she is a great music teacher and I hope anybody who wants to take guitar lessons will give her a shot.

"Justin is very clearly a very talented guitarist with an eclectic repertoire and a knack for distilling a wide range of concepts into a simple form that is very easy to absorb at any skill level. Studying with Justin has opened me up to new kinds of music and concepts that may have taken me years to gain exposure to otherwise, but he's also able to understand and connect with the type of music I want to play in order to help me reach my personal goals. He's also very laid back, easy to work with, and pleasant. Highly recommended."

"Brad is an excellent piano teacher. I have watched him guide my 9-year-old son over a two year period. My son know has a strong musical foundation in piano he can apply to other instruments. Brad has a very relaxed and calm demeanor. He guides students in a subtle way, so they take ownership of their learning and maintain motivation. Most importantly, Brad's personality creates a stress-free learning environment. This is crucial for children to maintain a love and passion for music. Brad is very encouraging, warm and cares about the students he teaches. I highly recommended him to parents who want to instill a love of music in their children!"
