You will find that my versatile background in voice can and will tend to your every need as a prospective vocalist. All voice types and genres are welcome!

I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. I have a lot of knowledge and experience in understanding the art of singing. I've studied with some of the best voice teachers out there and have many amazing exercises that will help you to glean some insight on some of the physiological components of singing- breathing, chest voice, head voice, mix voice, and falsetto that will in turn expand your range and enhance your overall tone.

I can teach you in any style of singing and all styles of music. My specialty is Classical Music, but a healthy foundation is a must for all music and for all singing. I will teach you how to warm up your voice professionally so that you will never hurt yourself. How to develop the power to be heard at the back of a large theater without blowing out the flame of a candle in front of you. I can teach you the art of circular breathing which is beneficial not only to players of wind instruments but also to singers as well. I teach voice lessons to various ages, incorporating techniques from various genres of study. I was trained by the best commercial voice coaches at Belmont University and I am well-versed in several styles, from classical to country to pop music. Students are able to choose what style or styles they are interested in working on!

I sing professionally in Nashville, and my experience as a stage performer, session singer, and songwriter on music row has provided me with great insight on the demands of the industry. Students can expect to learn about the music industry, as well as a great amount of vocal technique, ear training, basic music theory, and stage performance skills in their lessons. Many of my students choose to incorporate songwriting or basic piano/guitar into their voice lessons, as well.

I am an experienced Vocal Instructor. I have trained singers of all ages including: elementary, middle school, high school and adults. I was musically trained at the University of California Riverside. While studying there I was a soloist/vocalist for the Andean and Mariachi Ensembles; also I was a choir member of the Choral Society. Further I played several instruments in the Gamelan, Taiko, and Rondalla Ensembles at UCR. I am patient and enjoy the challenge of working with different personalities and backgrounds. I am bi-lingual in Spanish.
