Teaching is what I do! I have TAed multiple classes and taught dozens of students. I teach piano and other music concepts, as well as STEM fields in school. I only teach concepts that I'm completely fluent in, however, so you always get the absolute best instruction possible!

I have been playing piano for over 12 years. I retrained from scratch in the Taubman Technique a few years ago and play with ease and effortless musicality! I have taught tons of students how to play the instrument, incorporating these concepts into their playing as well.

I also tutor in STEM topics, including all math, physics, chemistry, and others. I have tutored over 2 dozen students and helped many achieve great results. I have a Master's degree in applied physics, graduated Magna cum Laude, and am fully prepared to help you master your math/science class
es!

Schedule a lesson with me! See yourself improve from someone who knows how people think and understands the topics enough to impart the same onto you!

Alex is extremely passionate when it comes to teaching piano. He breaks down music theory in a way that you can understand, allowing you to take that knowledge to learning pieces all by yourself.

Alex is fantastic. As a student, it's obvious he's had years of experience dealing with the material taught, and he explains problems in a thorough, well-contrived manner. Since beginning these sessions, my grades have risen greatly. I can't recommend them enough!

I was honored to take a hand percussion lesson from David after hearing him perform with a major arena tour and a phenomenal jazz trio!. Although the setting for the lesson happened to be intimidating, David was able to help me focus on my strengths as a player and showed me how to build on them. He excels at building confidence and inspired me to integrate world percussion into my work as an elementary school teacher. I highly recommend him as an educator who knows how to motivate and bring out the best in students. I look forward to taking lessons online in the future!

David taught me since 2011. He is the most handsome, serious, responsible teacher I ever had. He helped me become a well-round musician rather than just a percussion player. To be honest, he is the most suitable teacher for me.

As an instructor, David exudes the perfect balance of amiability and intimidation. He will inspire you to work your absolute hardest without scaring you away. Personality-wise, he is that happy medium somewhere between Mr. Rogers and J.K. Simmons in Whiplash. I studied with David during my college years and 7+ years later I still utilize his concepts in everyday practice. There are many specific stories, ideas and exercises of his that have always stuck with me and come up quite often when I am working on something new or teaching a lesson or class of my own. Whether we were learning orchestral excerpts, 4-way independence, Bach fugues or just playing quarter notes with the metronome, I always left our lessons feeling highly motivated and anxious to practice. It's also great to have a teacher that can blow your mind with his own playing. It might be difficult for some teachers to get students into something like the tambourine or triangle but when he picked one up and casually played some insane rhythms and advanced techniques I was immediately inspired to learn to do the same. Not to mention his drum work on Matt Herskowitz's "Forget Me Not" - some of the things he does on that record still keep me up at night. I'm very grateful for my time as a student of David's and glad I can still learn from him as a friend and colleague!

About Max
Hi, my name is Max. I have been teaching for over 15 years, teaching a range of instruments from saxophone, clarinet, and flute, to jazz piano. I also teach music theory, ear training, song-writing, and electronic music production. I teach students of all ages and skill-levels and hold a Masters degree in jazz saxophone performance from Manhattan School of Music, where I am currently on faculty to teach Music Theory and Eartraining at the Precollege Division. I also direct the jazz band at Gill St. Bernard’s School in New Jersey.

I love helping students achieve their goals, and I think learning music should be something fun and enjoyable. I also believe every student learns in a different way and at a different pace. With this in mind, I tailor my lessons towards each individual student and help them set achievable goals, making sure
they are having fun in the process.

Besides playing and teaching the saxophone, I also teach the clarinet, and flute, as well as music theory and electronic music production with Ableton Live. From my wide experience as a performing musician I can teach in a variety of genres, including jazz, classical, pop, and World Music.

I have been fortunate to have taught students all over the world, including Singapore, Africa, and the UK, many times performing along the way. I have led my own band for many years, with performances around the world, and with which I have recorded numerous albums, which can be found on Spotify and iTunes.

When I am not playing or teaching music I love to hang out with friends, be outdoors, and travel to places I have never been before.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you realize your goals in music.

Max is a fantastic teacher! As a parent I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a very experienced, kind, and fun teacher. Max is all of these things plus more. What I really like about him, besides that he is very knowledgable and amazingly talented, is that he always has a positive attitude! Lila loves to go to her lessons and she learned so much during her time with Max.

About Matthew
Hello, my name is Matthew F. and I am a professional opera singer based out of Philadelphia. As a current roster musician with Philadelphia Opera, I know what it means to perform at some of the highest levels houses in the country. My travels have taken me across the country, singing in over 20 productions in the last three years. Now, I am returning back to Philadelphia to teach full time as I once had. Previously a student teacher at the Masterman School, I have had a true passion for music education for as long as I have been a musician. My students have grown both personally and musically through our tenure together. This is because I offer lessons that not only grow your singing ability but help to enhance your comfort for performance, public speaking, and general engagement in the production of sound. Through our lesson plans, you w
ill even begin to see changes in how you speak as our core focus will be on breath control, vowel placement, and healthy vocalizing so that you may feel comfortable singing any genre of music. While we will focus on classical training, I want to work with you on whatever repertoire you’d like! If you’re preparing for your school’s musical, a great karaoke with friends, or just some fun shower singing, I will get you there.

About Bryan
I have been playing guitar and bass for over 15 years, which has been a remarkable and rewarding musical journey. After teaching myself for seven years, I decided to attend the Atlanta Institute of Music from which I graduated with a performance-based scholarship. My own approach to learning has helped me to teach students from all various backgrounds as I am able to adapt my lesson plans to accommodate either a more classical or more colloquial approach to effectively relate the material to each student effectively. My lesson plans are structured around the goals that students set for themselves, which I then show them how to achieve in a practical manner. This is a great life skill that will extend even beyond music. The only goals that cannot be reached are the ones you tell yourself repeatedly "I can't", which is the only real ba
rrier to learning and creating.

About Tom
I am a professional classical pianist, singer, arranger and composer located in Los Angeles, CA. I am also 2 years from graduating the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors of Music, with concentrations in both Piano Performance and Music Composition.

My life has regularly revolved around music since the early age of 7, following until High School I became immensely active in almost all the High School ensembles and programs offered. Ranging from Jazz Band, to Marching Band, to Symphony Orchestra, I gained familiarity with a wide array of instruments other than piano, which include the Bb Clarinet, Cello, Viola, and Guitar. In 2017, I also successfully earned the Certificate of Merit for Piano (Advanced Level), where I received Branch Honors for excellent marks on my playing of memorized solo piano repertoire, sight reading, th
e ear-training test, and the music theory test.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. Having studied classical piano for 10 years, and composition for 7 of those, I am confident in teaching from both a professional and personal perspective. At the Conservatory I currently attend, I enjoy finding ways to improve teaching students because I believe each student not only deserves effective teaching, but an open environment to feel free to ask questions-- as it is essential to learning. I am committed to making sure every student of mine is able to achieve their musical goals, expand their knowledge of music, and grow as a pianist.

At the current moment, I am heavily involved in the following CSULB Ensembles: 49er chorus, Concert Band, and the New Music Ensemble. Along with these ensembles, I am continuing to study many solo repertoire for classical piano by famous composers such as Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, and Bartók. I am additionally an MTNA Certified Collegiate Member in District 3: California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Collegiate Chapter.

My personal passion is Classical and Pop, but I firmly believe that all styles rely on a well-rounded and cultivated foundation. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

Take guitar lessons with a Berklee College of Music graduate! All levels welcome! I will help you reach any goal whether you want to play professionally or just want to learn your favorite song. I have a strong background in music theory and have learned both Jazz and Classical theory from some of the best professors and musicians in the world. My favorite thing as a teacher is to dissect a student's favorite song and show them the "how" and the "why" of the song. What makes it sound so good? It's so gratifying to see a student use a concept that I've explained to them from their favorite song and reuse it in their own way to make their own music. I can't wait to work with you and watch you flourish as a musician!
