I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. In addition to these texts I incorporate the use of the Vaccai: the Practical Method of Italian Singing as well as many various traditional, jazz, pop, and r&b ...

You will learn the basics in order to develop a correct vocal technique and the best repertoire which you feel more comfortable singing and where your voice will shine. I teach different styles and I guarantee you will see results from the first lesson. I have more than 15 years teaching and I will teach you with patience and care.

I have been teaching music to students of all ages for 17 years and I absolutely love it! I am a fun loving teacher who has high expectations of my students. I have a bachelor (UM) and Master (CMU) degree in music. I am a school band director as my full-time career. I am able to teach all of the brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, including piano, to varying degrees. You will receive a multi-faceted lesson with me including music theory, music history, new techniques, musicianship skills, performance skills, and much more. Voice Lessons:
The goal is to help you access the core of your body to bring out the best singing voice possible, whether you want to sing classical music, musical theater, country, gospel, pop or rock. The vocal technique and musical training you will receive will enable you to sing any style of music with more efficiency and ease. Voice lessons build a strong and healthy voice as you create confidence in performing. I help students to improve their musicianship and successfully find the true beauty and power of their natural singing voice!

Whether you are shooting for the Hollywood Bowl or the local karaoke bar, I am here to help you reach your goals! Together we will work towards gaining a better understanding of your voice and how breathing, placement and resonance affects your tone. Topics include, but are not limited to:

- Strengthen your upper, lower and middle register with a contemporary approach
- Get a better understanding of vocal technique and how it affects your voice (breathing, placement, resonance)
- Original and/or cover material
- Performance
- Confidence

All lessons will be personalized, utilizing a mixture of methods in order to best suit the student. All lessons are started with vocal warmups!
