Im a graduate student at East Carolina University working on my masters in violin performance. Between undergrad and grad school I maintained a private violin studio of about 25 students for five years and am certified by the Suzuki association to teach their method through book four. In lessons I’m a big advocate for playing with ease. Playing violin can often times feel like your fighting with yourself but with good technique, it can be a joyful fulfilling experience.

Liza is an amazing person inside and out. She has so much experience and versatility. She studies her students and makes sure that she's giving them all the techniques they need to improve. I've had many vocal coaches in my life and she is by far the most inspiring! She is funny, nice, and she always makes me feel comfortable, even when doing things that I might think are out of my range. She pulls the potential out of me.

In my lessons I take more of a psychological approach to things, and so my methods work for just about any age group. My lessons aren’t focused on the boring stuff, like books. They’re focused on getting your foot in the door of playing as quickly and effective as possible. I was self thought, I’ve been through it, and so I know what you need to know to get that foot in. I’ve taken everything I’ve learnt and stripped it down to what I actually needed to know to get to that place; you’re basically learning from my mistakes. So you’re getting what would usually take at least five (5) years to learn, in under a year. So come on, start playing songs in no time.

"Fawn has a clever way of teaching each student the same important basics and more but as individuals. As she says, she "teaches to the personality." Whatever it is she does, it works great! From beginners to the big shots, she teaches all levels! Before you know it, you've shot all the way up to the big stuff in note reading without much effort! It's like BAM!! You're sight reading like nobody's business! It's truly incredible. The results Fawn get are amazing."

Think it's too late for you to learn how to sing? Here, Hayward, CA teacher Molly R. explains why it's actually a fantastic time to start up lessons--as well as some helpful singing tips for making the most of them... "I'm 70. Is it too late for me to learn how to sing?" As a voice teacher, I get inquiries from singers of all walks of life.
