I received my music education from The Brooklyn Music School, Cornell University and the The Institute of Audio Research.

As an audio engineer, I record, mix, edit, arrange, master and program demos, EPs albums, mix-tapes, karaoke tracks and ringtones. I also produce as well. I co-own a project recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Radian Studios.

I'm very passionate about what I do and I guarantee a creative, enjoyable and fulfilling experience!

sson Details ***
For piano and voice, I incorporate basic music theory methods but I also focus on ear training as well. My ultimate goal when teaching is for the student to have a visceral experience while playing or singing.

For audio engineering, I go over audio recording techniques and the tools & equipment needed to produce a professional sounding song.

I enjoy imparting my knowledge of music to others and I demonstrate that enthusiasm in my teaching style. I love relating what I'm teaching a student to his/her learning style. Figuring out how someone learns is a key component to my method and I'm a better instructor because of it.

Ramona is the best! I started lessons with her a few weeks ago and I am already improving tremendously. She's tailored everything to my skill level (I played piano as a child but forgot almost everything), and I'm learning theory and playing by ear. She's definitely an expert and I plan on working with her for a long time!

About Josiah
At the age of four, after watching a group of children playing their violins on the television show, “Sesame Street”, I became inspired to learn how to play the violin. Since that time I have studied violin with Daniel Vega-Albela, Dr. Joseph Koob and Renata Knific. In 2006, I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Studies. During my undergraduate studies, I learned beginning jazz guitar and improvisation from jazz guitarist, John Riemer. Leading up to my attending WMU, I had participated in Master Classes with Sally O’Reilly, Dr. Barry Ross, Stephen Clapp, Benny Kim, Katie Lansdale, David Barg, and Ronda Cole. I was a member of the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony for five years and I was the concertmaster during my senior year. I also won the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony’s soloist competition duri
ng my senior year of High School. I was a featured youth soloist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra during their youth concerts in 2003. I also performed as a soloist on WMUK’s radio program, “Bravo!” I played in the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra for two years. Over the years I have attended several different summer music institutes including “Aria” in Muncie, Indiana, “Steven’s Point” in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, “Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp” in Muskegon, Michigan, and “Sound Encounters” in Ottawa, Kansas.

In addition to playing classical and jazz music, I thoroughly enjoy the music of the fiddle. I have played fiddle with a few different bands in Chicago, IL, Virginia Beach, VA and Southwest Michigan. I have played in numerous pit orchestras for musical theater productions in the Southwest Michigan area.

In addition to being an accomplished musician, I have been happily teaching music lessons for the past six years. As a Certified Suzuki teacher, I believe in providing a positive, nurturing environment for my students to learn. I am committed to providing a friendly approach to teaching music lessons. I strive to make the learning process fun and interesting for them. I respect my students. I love helping each one of them find creative ways to achieve their unique set of musical goals. I teach classical, jazz, bluegrass and rock music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons take place in a large class room at a local church conveniently located right off of I-94. There is a lobby area with chairs where the parents can wait. Parents can also watch their younger children in the nursery area.

To start: If you don't already have an instrument, I will help you find a nice one and the proper equipment. I will also provide you with recordings of the music that you will be learning. I believe that listening to your pieces ahead of time is a great help when it comes time to learn them.

During your first three to six months of lessons, I will discover your main learning style. For example, you may learn music more easily using a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic approach. You will have lots of fun developing a beautiful tone on your instrument as we focus our attention on developing your technique. I will show you how to practice the music on your own so that you can make the most of your practice time. Your confidence and self-esteem will increase as you build a repertoire of music from the very beginning of our time together.

As you progress in your musical skills and artistic development, you will become fluent in performing your favorite pieces. Each lesson contains technical and musical points covered in a carefully thought out, step-by-step progression. You will eventually gain the skills and knowledge to play your instrument at whatever proficiency level you desire. When teaching, I divide skills into smaller units so that you will always be successful. I like to give you immediate, honest, and specific feedback after each time you play your instrument for me. I always respect my students and acknowledge the effort that they put forth.

Since music reading skills take time to become equal to playing skills, I usually teach music reading skills after the first six to eight months of lessons.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Classrooms in building, space for parents to wait in lobby, nursery for parents with younger children.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching fiddle and the classical Suzuki violin and viola method.

Hey there! I'm glad you're here :) If you're on this sight, it probably means you're passionate about music! So look at that, we already have something in common. Or no? Perhaps your just curious. Maybe you have always wanted to see how people can make a metal tube sing, or perhaps your precious child has been BEGGING you to take lessons but you're unsure because you know you wont be able to help them? I get it, and you are still in the right place.

I grew up around music, and was always so in love with the arts. I did everything from dance to painting but nothing compared to the profound experience of making music. Music has influenced my life in so many ways. It has always been a form of release, expression, and passion in times both good and bad. It gave me the opportunity to hear, rather than see, my own hard work bring success. I
t brought me contentment where I never realized I needed it. However, there is one thing that music will never fail to bring to my life, and that is joy. My goal in pursing music is that I can help others experience that same joy, and allow music to have the same amazing impact on them as it did on me.

Sound like something you're interested in? Have questions about my experience? Maybe questions about my method of teaching? Feel free to shoot me a message and I would be so glad to speak with you about any question you may have! Let's meet so we can continue down your musical path together!

About Joey
Lots of info below!! I'm a jack of all trades! And wanted to be as descriptive as possible for your benefit.

In gist, here's are the skills I can teach you exceptionally well:

- Music Production
- Drumset / drumming

Before we get into my lesson structure, a little about me and why I know I can help. Why should you listen to me if I don't know my background? :)

I am a full-time music producer, musician, and DJ. I started playing percussion in 6th grade, which was 14 years ago. Since then, I've literally immersed myself in music about as much as you can!

I've competed in honor and all-state band for 7 years in a row throughout middle and high school, was 1 of 6 awarded into the Governor's Honors program for percussion in 2010, and was the only recipient of a jazz drum set scholarship at Georgia College in 2011. Our high sch
ool percussion ensemble was one of the top competing schools in the state and so was our indoor drumline during 2007-2011.

As far as music production goes, it's now my main focus. I started learning the ins and outs of music production in high school in 2010. Since then, I've taken courses in music technology throughout college, made music as a hobby, then took the full leap in January of 2016. I'm on the journey now and since that time I've had some pretty amazing things happen. I produce music almost every day, so everything you learn from me is what's current and what works!

Music has always been my life. I was INCREDIBLY lucky to have been fostered and taught by some of the most passionate and selfless music teachers in the state. Now that I am old enough to realize it, they literally shaped my life and helped me become the person I am today. What if I can give back in the same way and help students learn to discover what they truly love?

Flash forward to today and I'm hustling harder than ever. After graduating from The University of Georgia in 2015 with a degree in Management and Music Business, and a minor in Music Technology, I am a full-time, touring music producer and DJ. I reside in Virginia Highlands (very safe, family-friendly area) in Atlanta and have my own house, studio, and drum set, in which I can tutor you. In person - or online!

My expertise:

* Drumming / Drum Set
* Music Production (Ableton)

-----------------------------------------

DRUMS

Because of my extensive background in percussion, I can teach the fundamentals of drumming, whether on a pad or on drum set.

Drumming styles I can teach:
Jazz, Latin
, Funk
, Rock
, Swing

, Metal, Classical

Drumming techniques I can teach:
Syncopation
, Chop-Building Exercises, Coordination
, Double-Bass Drum technique, Rudiments, prep for Honor Band or All- State, scales on the piano

Can even teach you the drum part to just about any song! Yes really, if that's what you want!

Years of teaching experience:
 2

Years of playing experience: +14

---------------------------------------------

MUSIC PRODUCTION

Minored in Music Technology at The University of Georgia.

What I know and can teach:
- Producing tracks start to finish
- Navigating and understanding Ableton
- Using legal samples in your music to help you
- Songwriting
- Mixing your tracks
- Workflow techniques
- Song structure
- Advice from one seasoned music producer to another!

I've been through a lot of work and stressful times to figure out what works and what doesn't. Let my experience be of benefit to you, so that I can shorten your learning curve :)

I've written an article on music production workflow that was published by Heroic Academy. A record label named Gravitas Create interviewed me recently, regarding how to finish music. I can send those to you if you want.

Years of teaching experience: 1

Years of career experience: 3

Always wanted to get into music production for the longest time, so I downloaded Ableton and decided to give it a go....and it looked like hieroglyphics to me. I tried to watch some youtube videos on the matter and it still made no sense. So I did some research and figured that an in-person teacher would probably be my best bet.

That's when I found Joey - and this guy knows his stuff. He's been producing for a few years now and after listening to his music, I could tell he was the real deal. I just started my lessons not long ago, but so far he's helped me in Ableton tremendously. I'm able to understand the various plug-ins, create new sounds when I get that creative "spark" instead of just bumbling around, and now I can actually finish a song.

I fully recommend Joey, he's super patient and has made this process just so much easier for me.
