Our voice is the most personal expression we can share. I feel very passionate about helping others create a personalized 'toolkit' of exercises designed to promote proper posture, ease of breath support and help guide the vocal explorer in developing their most perfect resonance and pitch control. The end result is the ability to sing, speak, stand and move with relaxed authenticity by encouraging a calmly energized physical demeanor which increases confidence.

My foundation is bel canto technique infused with contemporary voice exercises; to expand range, create full tone, sing with ease & power, build breath support & learn to maintain vocal health.

Additionally, we learn shape the vowel sound to change the 'color', to produce a rock, pop, R&B, classical or legit style. I've taught voice for over 18 years, backed by a lifetime of performing & 12 years of private vocal studies. I also lived and worked in Los Angeles for 12 years.
I am committed to helping people develop ...

I’ve played for 25+ years and have recorded guitar for many artists (Grammy winners as well) in the studio. I try to teach as simply so as much knowledge can be retained as quickly as possible. I’ve taught guitar for about 5 years now in person.

Blues music is at the root of all American music. It's also a vast tradition with lots of different styles and pioneers. In our lessons, we'll cover how to improvise solos over the blues, and learn how to perform in different styles of the blues, such as Delta Blues, Texas Blues, Chicago Blues and more.

"Rena was very clear, organized, and receptive to my input. She was also great in using her curriculum to support my learning process. I played some instruments growing up and always wanted to try piano but didn't try until college. I initially had some unrealistic goals for myself, and Rena was able to help me set some more reasonable ones while also making sure I was enjoying what I was learning. I can't recommend Rena enough; she's amazing!"

"Ivan is a great mentor and teacher. He has the ability to make each session very fun and interesting as he also moves at a pace that’s best for the student so no added pressure is present. Ivan himself is capable of bringing out the best in your art when you least expect it, that’s what makes him great at what he does as a person because he is very understanding and will do everything in his power to see you succeed and bloom. Ivan has worked with me for many years and if it wasn’t for his positivity and encouragement that he would bring with him to every session, I wouldn’t be the man I was today without him"

"Last November I began playing the guitar. Like most beginners I learned the basic chords (G,C,D,etc.). It wasn't much but you'd be surprised how many songs you could play with these few chords.

A few months ago, I decided it was time to learn more and sharpen my skills... starting with the basics (including reading guitar music). I decided to check out TakeLessons because I knew I could have the lessons in the comfort of my own home. So, I began researching and found Tim's profile.

If you are looking for a solid foundation in learning the guitar and feeling encouraged to push through (even if you think you can't play that one chord) I'd highly recommend Tim. Tim provides students with a guitar manual that is easy to understand and helps build one skill at a time. Like building a brick wall, the book has you put one brick on top of the other as you go through the book. In time, you will be surprised how much you've learned!

Beginners, Intermediate/Advance players if you're looking for a guitar teacher that will help you sharpen your skills and encourage you along the way... I'd highly recommend him as a guitar teacher!"

"Michele took the time to get to know my personal connection to singing and music, so she knew just where to start with me as her student. I appreciated her explanation of vocal anatomy because that type of knowledge helps me figure out how connect with and work with my body, and I also never knew how nice it feels to have someone listen to and hear all the unique qualities of my voice while speaking. I felt like she could "see" my voice, which made me feel a bit exposed, but also trust her to help me overcome vocal challenges and weaknesses in future lessons."

"I am writing this recommendation at the request of my daughter’s wonderful violin teacher, Ms. Pabst. Jacqueline is quite talented but it is her personality and character that sets her apart. My daughter is only six years old so Jacqueline’s patience and understanding goes a long way and they have developed a very sweet relationship. We hope we can continue taking lessons with Ms. Pabst for a long time. - Alan Farmer"
