Billy G. - guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer is a graduate of Musician’s Institute (Hollywood CA 1991).
Billy is a veteran of the New England music scene. Over the past 20 years he has performed 1000’s of shows. A few worth mentioning would be working with Grammy life time achievement award winner and Rock and Roll hall of fame legend Bo Diddley, performing private showcases in New York and Hollywood CA for Nickelodeon, Disney along with a hand full of major labels.

His current band “The Lisa Love Experience” (a band that Billy started with his wife Lisa Love in 2001) are winners of “Best Band in Boston” by Boston.com A-List, “Best of The Knot and “Brides Choice Award Winners. They also have been featured twice on the television show Chronicle.

Billy specializes in contemporary pop, rock, blues, funk and jazz electric/acoustic
guitar, voice training and live performance.

Along with his own private teaching practice Billy also has taught at Governor’s Academy (Byfield), Music Makers (Hampton NH) and is current the guitar and voice teacher at National Music (Woburn).

I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. In addition to these texts I incorporate the use of the Vaccai: the Practical Method of Italian Singing as well as many various traditional, jazz, pop, and r&b ...

I am a piano-playing singer/songwriter and graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music focusing on songwriting, performance, and teaching. I was a leader of my high school music ministry (choir) for four years (Bishop Brady H.S., Concord NH) and volunteered as a 2nd grade Sunday School teacher (Immaculate Heart of Mary, Concord, NH) in my senior year. I have several years of performance experience having performed at The Farm Bar & Grille in Essex, MA, the Lizard Lounge and Cantab Lounge both in Cambridge, MA. I have appeared on Community Auditions (2011) and compose music for local independent film company Door Eleven Productions. I am laid-back but hardworking and expect an equal level of commitment from my students. I am primarily interested in teaching beginner-intermediate level pupils. Prospective students can expect to start each lesson with vocal exercises focusing on breath support, posture and pitch. Any professional performer understands the importance of warming up prior to performing! Once properly warmed up, you give your voice the range and flexibility it needs to sing beautifully and effectively! I encourage note-taking as well as recording the lessons either on cassette or even your cellphone to assist in practicing on your own between lessons. Depending on my students level of experience, I will then decide which songs to work on that would best fit your range and area of interest. Once a certain amount of progress has been made I will open the doors to my students deciding on songs they'd like to work on specifically as well. After 3-6 months, I would anticipate my students to be able to effectively warm-up their voices on their own through exercises we will have covered, at least a basic understanding of how to sight-read your melody and certainly have a handful of songs memorized and ready to add to your repertoire!

I would bring my keyboard to each lesson unless one was provided (tuned pianos are okay as well). I would also bring music and texts that I would find beneficial to each particular student. I would expect my student to provide a journal to take notes and track progress. Also, though not necessary in all cases, I would expect my student to have sheet music for songs they're interested in learning as well as CD/cassette/MP3/etc. of songs they're interested in learning.

I would start with a foundation of proper warm-ups, breathing techniques, and vocal exercises with me accompanying on piano. We would then spend the second half of the lesson working on songs primarily of my students choosing. I would be comfortable with just about any genre thus being able to cater to each one of my student's unique areas of interest.

This product has great features

Words will never be enough to express what Danielle has done for my daughter and her love of singing. Danielle has shown so much patience and commitment through her instruction and has boosted my daughters confidence 110%. She knows how to chose the perfect song for Alexis' voice and the emails that she sends after each session provide the proper tools for my daughter to carry out her 1 hour session to a full week. I could not have picked a better vocal coach for my daughter.

Exceeds expectations

My daughter Julia has been taking singing lessons with Danielle since July. Julia is in second grade and this is her first time taking singing lessons. Danielle has devoted so much time to researching good vocal exercises and music selections for a young singer and also to learning the songs Julia was interested in singing. Danielle always follows up within 24 hours with the audio for the lesson and an encouraging email. Danielle is very patient with Julia and takes a genuine interest in her. She listens to the little stories Julia likes to share with her and remembers details of what Julia shares, and has even taken a little extra time to teach Julia a little about playing the keyboard. I can't say enough good things about Danielle. She is a fantastic teacher and a lovely person.

Singing lessons

I run a mentoring program and one of my mentees really wanted to learn how to sing. Through Take Lessons we found Danielle. She is terrific. Very professional and very patient. My mentee is learning so much with Danielle's help. I don't think this 16 year old girl has ever really been expected to work hard on perfecting something so it has been so good for her. This whole experience has been a real joy!

FOR THE SAXOPHONE AND CLARINET STUDENT

For the Saxophone and Clarinet student, Jimi uses 21st Century method books as well as the traditional methods he's used to get his students jamming and playing. A lot of time is spent in early lessons on teaching the student the correct way to blow the instrument to get a great sound. Typically, students will want to practice more when they sound great and a lot of time is spent on making a great sound to build their confidence and motivation.

FOR THE POP/ROCK PIANO STUDENT

Pop and Rock Piano Students will enjoy a modern approach to Piano that is not the typical Classical Approach that some children are disagreeable to. Jimi gets his Piano students to play modern pop and rock songs and students will learn how to jam and approach the piano with modern pop music instead of the old school classical approaches.

FOR THE SONG WRITING STUDENT AND SINGER/SONGWRITER CAREER PATH

Songwriting is approached with song analysis first and then song form models are then looked at in the Old Style from the early 20th Century to the New Style forms used today. Then meticulous time is spent on Melody writing, Chord Writing, Basic Harmony and Lyrics. Jimi uses an approach to songwriting that is unique in its methodology by having the student believe that it is a LOT easier than you think it is. This confidence building methodology will have students writing songs in rapid time.

BASIC PIANO/KEYBOARD FOR SINGERS AND SONGWRITERS

For those students who wish to use the Piano as learning tool to help their singing and pitch, as an option you can take Basic Piano with Jimi after your voice development has progressed. The Piano is an awesome tool for singers and learning to play simple vocal exercises, notes and chords on the Piano will truly enhance your singing experience. Songwriters who do not play a chordal instrument like Guitar and Piano will enjoy this because they need to be able to play chords to become the complete songwriter that can not only write melodies and lyrics, but chords as well.

AN OUTSTANDING REPUTATION TEACHING STUDENTS OF ALL AGES

Currently, Jimi leads a professional Original Country Music group that has released a full CD and plays around the New England area. Jimi teaches at three prestigious private schools and music schools in Boston teaching students between Age 6 and 18 at those schools. Jimi is also Lead Voice Faculty and runs the Voice Program at one of those schools. Jimi's versatility and background has allowed him to keep on top of the music scene providing him with an incredibly large wealth of music knowledge that dates back to the Jazz/Swing era all the way up to the pop music of today. Jimi Z. was born in New York City and grew up in Lynbrook, NY only 20 Miles from the Music and Arts Mecca of the world in New York City. Jimi is a Licensed Voice Therapist and has an incredible working knowledge of the Voice Anatomy and Physiology of the Voice. He has the ability to teach Speech, Acting and Singing. He also is networked well with some of the top Ear, Nose and Throat Doctors, Ornolaryngologists, and Speech Pathologists and works in tandem with them on Voice Rehabilitation cases. Jimi has a complete professional PA system in his Metro Boston Studio to allow the student to work on microphone technique and monitoring techniques as well. Jimi plays a wide variety of instruments and is a Songwriter, Record Producer, Studio Musician, Promoter and Talent Scout. In 2002, the company expanded and started to help musicians to expand their music careers and in 2009 Jimi's dream of having a recording studio was then realized. Jimi is also responsible for preparing Teens for Colleges and University Programs that know they want to pursue music as a career. The Higher Education Plan is built on a the development of an impressive portfolio of hundreds of songs, Demo CD, Demo DVD, Original Songs and the building of a Performance Resume in the student's teen years.

This Portfolio is then presented to Higher Education Institutions to allow a realistic chance of getting into the college of their choice and getting substantial scholarship and grant money. The success of the T.D.P. is amazing as many of Jimi's students have been accepted into colleges and universities and received scholarships. 2) The second T.D.P. is for those students and parents who simply want to learn what they need to move their music careers by doing complete development with Jimi directly. While Jimi is a graduate of New England Conservatory of Music and stresses a college education, sometimes it isn't possible or sometimes career minded musicians simply want a teacher to guide them in their career path without going to college or a university. Some musicians who have a higher caliber of talent will take this path knowing that they or their parents might want to pay for the financing of a recording a professional CD with a modest budget compared to the potential $300,000 budget Higher Education Institutions charge.

TYPICAL LESSON PLAN FOR THE SINGING STUDENT:

THERE IS A SHORTER LEARNING CURVE FOR SINGERS (MONTHS NOT YEARS!!!)

One important thing to consider about taking Singing Lessons or Voice Lessons is that The Learning Curve is much quicker for both Adults and Children compared to the Learning Curve of other instruments like Guitar, Piano or Drums. There are certain aspects of learning to sing that make the learning curve happen within months and not years. This makes singing so much easier for everyone to learn in a timely manner. This can help with younger students who might be less patient and might have lower attention spans.

SINGERS ARE GUARANTEED TO EXPAND THEIR RANGE WITHOUT BELTING AND HURTING THEIR VOICE

Depending on whether the student is doing lessons for fun or for a possible career, Jimi Z.'s teaching philosophy stresses good vocal technique that allows the student to develop maximum vocal range to hit higher notes that they never could hit by relaxing the muscles in and around the larynx.

Students will learn good posture and breathing and learn how to execute singing by doing warm-up/workouts that strengthen the correct muscles in the larynx and the abdominal muscles. The philosophy of execution on these exercises will seamlessly transcend into doing the same execution in songs.

Students will receive a Warm-up/Workout CD to practice to which is easy to follow. Songs will be introduced as soon as possible. Tone will improve as muscles strengthen. Students will later work on Microphone Technique, using Vocal Technologies,effects and really cool gadgets that are available in Jimi's studio via his product endorsements, Monitoring and the development of the student's own personal style are worked on by Pro Students.

Later in the curriculum, students can look forward to not only enjoying the benefits of range expansion and good tone because of the relaxed vocal technique, but then they'll be able to explore further range expansion through Passsagio Bridging to the Mix Voice and Falsetto register combined with microphone technique. Students will have the opportunity to use Karaoke CDs as well as a device which removes vocals off of conventional Music CDs so that they can sing in a Pro setting that is live and true.

Overall the methods Jimi Z. uses are The McClosky Technique (Jimi is Certified), Bel Canto Technique, The Alexander Technique for alignment and body mapping and The Jimi Z. Pop Vocal Approach to singing. Jimi Z. takes his approach with each student individually.

TYPICAL LESSON PLAN FOR THE POP PIANO STUDENT

Pop Piano Students can look forward to an unconventional approach not used by many classical piano teachers. This is a welcome idea that most younger students welcome with open arms because you don't need to play classical music or be trained classically to effectively play Pop or Rock as many people will misunderstand as being the norm. Pop/Rock Piano Students can look forward to learning basic fingerings to formulate melody on both hands. All students will learn major scales and then learn to finger 3 note chords on both hands. It is then that the students start to jam to recorded CDs and keep up with the recorded version by playing simple chords and simple melodies. Later on in the development, if the student wants to take things to a higher level, improvisational studies can be introduced that are more difficult. A lot of time is spent learning things by ear and a lot of jamming is encouraged with simple songs first evolving into more challenging songs later on.

Studio has an electric piano/keyboard, full PA system, microphones and state of the art Vocal Technologies and cool gadgets professional singers use. Karaoke and Production Tracks can also be used and one of Jimi's really cool gadgets removes vocals off regular CDs if students can't find a Karaoke Version of song they're performing. This allows every student to sing with cool equipment in the best setting possible. About Albino
Albino was born in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a country in southern Africa known for its rich musical and cultural heritage. Fueled by the resourcefulness and determination that have always characterized Mozambicans, he built his first guitar at 16 from a 5-liter can of oil, scrap wood, and strings made out of electrical cords.

Drawn to the sounds of neighborhood street musicians in Maputo, Albino began to play in a number of local bands. As with his home-made guitar, Albino wanted to combine styles and incorporate diverse elements in his music. For his talents to grow, he knew he needed experience new places, cultures, and sounds.

While studying music education and Performance at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Mozambique, he heard about the Berklee School of Music in Boston, USA, where he could expand his musical horizons
. Soon after, he was one of the first students to receive a full scholarship to Berklee through the African Scholars program. In 2009, he settled in Boston, Massachusetts.

At Berklee, he was exposed to a variety of influences, but wanted to go deeper into the roots of jazz and expand his knowledge of music. He auditioned and was selected to participate in the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, which is directed by Danilo Perez and the residency teachers, including Joe Lovano John Patitucci, and Terri Lyne Carrington. The Institute emphasizes an artist's original vision in jazz, and has helped Albino find his own unique voice in the art form.

Albino still felt the absence of his own Mozambican traditions in his music. With the help of his mentors, Richard Bona and Lionel Loueke, two of the most prominent African musicians in the United States of America today, he began to bridge that gap.

Today, Albino's music succeeds in combining many disparate parts into an organic whole. It incorporates his musical experiences from Mozambique, the U.S., and many other places around the world, combining rhythmic patterns and musical concepts to create a unique Moz-Jazz sound. He will always continue to combine and capture the energies of different musical traditions to create a unified and original musical style.

Albino's original composition “Mozambique Dance” was recorded by Jazz Revelation Records, a student-run record label at the Berklee College of Music, for the 8th annual album released in 2011. He also recorded “Awusiwana,” his own composition, for the Berklee 2012 summer album. His debut album, also called Mozambique Dance, is to be released in Spring 2013.

Albino is an active musician, and has performed in several countries including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Italy, the U.S., and Mexico. He has also produced and recorded various projects in Mozambique and in the United States. In 2012, he will graduate from Berklee College with a degree in Music Production & Engineering and Performance, and a minor in Acoustics and Electronics.

Patient, Supportive, and Encouraging.

It was what I was looking for when looking for a coach. Although, I wasn't trying to be the next American Idol, I did want to not butcher anymore of the songs I love to sing. I had taken singing lessons in the past and was hesitant with this experience, the issue was my instructors wanted me to learn what they wanted to teach and honestly didn't make for the best experience.

Albino made this experience different, our first few lessons were focused on learning some basics skills and drills. We explored what songs might be suitable to start off with given my range and where I was and started to practice and practice and practice, until i felt comfortable. The more comfortable I became and the better I became with my drills, the more options we explored, the more of the songs I wanted to really sing started to come into conversation and I felt as though I was and continue to make progress.

Albino has never made this about himself. He has never pushed his own style on me and I can really appreciate that. He genuinely enjoys helping you achieve something you never thought you could or were nervous of doing. He pushes you just enough that you feel challenged and want to continue doing it.

I've come so far in such a short period of time and I have him to thank. This is the man you want to be coached by if you're looking to be pushed in the right direction without feeling like there is only one way to get to where you want to be.

I am an adult voice student who took voice lessons with Emily to improve my singing in a church choir. She succeeded, and in the process changed the way I view my voice and myself.

Emily is a very knowledgable, patient, and supportive teacher. She is also one of the most charismatic and funny people I have ever met. A joy to work with.

Emily is a great teacher, who really is invested in her students progress. She makes the lessons a great blend of technique work and repitore. When she picks music she gives options to the student and makes sure to pick something that helps you grow as a musician but isn’t too difficult or challenging. Over all I have had only good experiences while taking lessons with her.

Dr. Bryan Pollock, countertenor, completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts (Voice Performance) at Boston University where he taught private voice and class voice for three years in addition to holding his own voice studio. In 2013 he graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with his Masters in Fine Arts, vocal performance. In 2010 he received his Bachelors in Music from East Carolina University in vocal performance. He received vocal instruction from Dr. Lynn Eustis, Dr. Darryl Taylor, Dr. Louise Toppin, and John Kramar. His piano instructors were Dr. Keiko Sekino and Rebecca Miller. He has performed in over twenty fully-staged operatic productions and five fully-staged musical theatre productions.

Dr. Pollock has travelled extensively during his career throughout the U.S. as well as England, Austria, Italy
, Turkey, Canada, and the Czech Republic. He has a firm knowledge of German, Italian, and French vocal repertory, diction, and languages while specialising in English diction for the non-native speaker and/or singer.

Alyssa is an upbeat, encouraging, and patient teacher. Her own singing voice is beautiful, and she sings very professionally in a wide range of genres. She is reliable, pleasant, sincere, and capable. She gives each student her full attention and tailors her lessons to each one's particular talent (as well as where they're in need of improvement).
