Dan C. Barrington, IL

About Dan

I have been playing guitar for 30 years, starting with Rock/Blues before studying both Classical and Jazz guitar in college. I received my Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1995. I am currently a guitar teacher in the NW Chicago suburbs and in Chicago currently with 45+ students, teaching all ages, all levels and all styles. I have been teaching guitar and music off and on for the past 20+ years but in 2007 I decided to devote myself to teaching full time (yes, teaching guitar is my primary job!)...one of the best decisions I have ever made! To me, playing music is an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s also a lot of fun! But no matter what your goals are in music, I have found, through many years of playing and teaching, that every musician ...

Best Teacher and Encouraging

I have had Dan as my Guitar Teacher, he is the best in teaching Guitar from the basics. I started with him as nothing since I do not have any Musical Background, He encouraged me well to understand the Music notes and Guitar Tabs. Every lessons with him was so much interesting and particularly he asks me to choose my favorite song and explore the Guitar notes. That makes the learning interesting and willing to explore the different types of Music.
Any questions I asked about the Music, he could explain by the way that I can easily understand. Every second in his class is valuable and has some good information about Music.
He is the Best and I always feel proud to say that I am his student.

Best teacher i've had

Dan is amazing. I've had him as a teacher for a few years and I have already learned to play Hotel California, Johnny B. Goode, and many other songs. Dan brings his own equipment so that you can get printed handouts whenever you want. He is quite instructive and explains things in simplest terms. If you are having some trouble with something, he breaks it down into smaller pieces. Dan is definitely the best teacher I have had.

Martone M. Fox River Grove, IL

About Martone

I have performed professionally on stage and in the studio for over 20 years. I studied music with a double major in guitar and bass guitar. I also play flute and keyboards. I began my musical training at 10 years old learning how to play guitar. I have a deep love for music and began to teach what I know to others and found that teaching music is very rewarding. I like to help others discover the joy that comes from learning and playing a musical instrument. I am great with young students just starting out and make sure that learning their instrument is a fun experience. With teenagers and adults, I not only teach guitar methods, but also the basic principles required to "jam" with other musicians. I also work with bands and ensembles teaching basic performance techniques ...

Martone is an awesome teacher. I have learned much from him, and had fun the whole time. He has done a great job at making me feel wanted. He also has done a great job at going at my pace. On top of that, he has been really flexible in scheduling, there have been a few days I have been late or needed to switch my lesson's date and he worked with me to get it all figured out, pain free. If you are looking to learn guitar, Marty here has you covered! He is skilled, kindhearted, and easy going.

I have been taking lessons for about 4 weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying the experience with Terri. She listens to where I am, and while she is patient, challenging and encouraging, she also takes into account my schedule and my current life circumstances. As things get more challenging, we take our time, because that's what my life needs. As an adult student, I have a fairly busy life with work and other interests outside my music lessons. I appreciate Terri's flexibility with my pace, and her understanding with regard to each client as an individual with individual needs.

Lisa has been my 12 year old son's private cello teacher for almost 2 years. He has learned a considerable amount from her and her Suzuki teaching method. He now plays with much more confidence and really enjoys playing. She will gladly teach in your home or at her convenient location in Barrington, Illinois. I would highly recommend Lisa for your private cello instructor needs.

Lisa is an amazing cello teacher who has made a real difference in my daughter's life. My older daughter has studied cello with her for nine years—since she was nine. She is still a student at age 18. Thanks to Lisa, she was accepted into CalArts' prestigious cello program. My younger daughter studied violin at a well-known, local Suzuki violin academy, and doesn't have a fraction of the theory knowledge that Lisa taught my older daughter through cello.

Lisa is that rare teacher who is so much more than a top-notch music teacher—she truly cares about her students and teaches life lessons along the way. You or your child would be lucky to study with her.

Vocal Training · In studio
Kimberly is the best teacher I've ever had. Growing up in Barrington, we had a wide variety of private tutors and vocal trainers. My mother once put me up for private sessions for three months before my school musical. I thought I had received good training. Thought. My mother referred me to Kimberly after hearing her sing at a venue. I perused some of her videos and I must say that I was highly impressed. I signed up for a lesson, and my vocal range increased magnanimously! I am now able to sing in octaves in which I previously was unaware existed. My range is now more comfortable than my boat shoes whilst I cigar with the boys. I would recommend Kimberly to the highest degree possible and then some. If you don't know Kimberly, you are nowhere near your potential in vocals, guitar, or even life.

Wonderful Teacher!

Hi I am Matt Ellis and I have been taking lessons with Kimberly for about 5 months. My singing ability has improved incredibly. When you sit in on a lessons with Kimberly she analyzes your voice very carefully and matches exercises to what she thinks is best for you.Personally I have had trouble with sustaining my voice for long periods of time due to vocal damage.I noticed right away after my first couple of lessons my voice just seemed healthier and in better shape with the exercises we did.Now my voice sustains better than ever! With a larger range and I now have a ear for Harmony as well. I would suggest Kimberly to anyone who wants to improve there voice and learn in a very comfortable environment.Within the first 10 minutes of my first lesson I was totally comfortable to just let loose and sing!Without being worried about my tone because she creates a very safe atmosphere for improvement. So If your looking for great lessons and a great teacher GO TO KIMBERLEY!
