About Lauren
Hello! My name is Lauren S., and I am excited to bring out the musician in you!

We have all sorts creating and learning—children and adults in their first lessons, teens and preteens performing and competing, working professionals looking for a creative love, and retirees coming back to an instrument from many years before. We have parents & children, siblings, and friends who learn and love to make music together!

Whether you're searching for yourself or your child, I would love to invite you to Musical Life—my beautiful in-home studio—and help you meet your musical goals.

We focus on developing true artistry and giving them the fundamental tools to be able to play and create various styles of music including classical, musical theater, folk, contemporary, Christian, and more.

We play from the very first lesson and learn o
ther concepts such as music theory, literacy, and technique in subsequent lessons.

My students are involved in school & community ensembles, school & community theater, and district contests. I support and seek out these opportunities according to their interests.

Please send me a note! I can't wait to get started.

About Chaul
I have been playing the violin for over 24 years. I like to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students regardless of their age. I would prefer beginners to take at least one year of piano lessons prior to learning how to the play the violin. This way students can transfer basic music knowledge into violin playing, especially in the field of reading and learning new music. My goal is to help music lovers learn how to teach themselves one day when a music teacher is no longer available.

I started teaching in 2011 while I was completing the Master of Music degree at Rice University. As I finished my Doctor of Musical Arts degree in December 2017, I decided to build and expand my own studio in Burleson, TX.

I also tutor beginning, intermediate, and advanced Chinese and have always loved Chinese literature.

Thank you Chaul for a great lesson and also for being so patient with me when my computer didn't log into the session right away. I enjoyed my first lesson and am excited to have such a fabulous teacher that sent me material and information to prepare for my first session. I feel confident that I will be able to progress and I know that I will enjoy learning with you. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.

About Nick
My name is Nick Novy, I recently graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Environmental Science. Although science is my profession music is my main hobby. I started teaching myself to play acoustic guitar in middle school and started getting more serious taking lessons and playing with friends in a band in high school. Since then I have taken multiple guitar courses at FSU and practice regularly. I enjoy any and all types of music and love playing everything from rock and blues to reggae, hip hop, and pop. I believe electric guitar is the most fun to play, but suggest any beginners looking to get into playing start on an acoustic guitar when I can help develop fundamental skills but I am not against those interested in or only have electric setups. For more intermediate players I am willing to learn any songs you wish to l
earn and work them out together learning lead parts and providing backing track. I have equipment available for electric players without amplifiers and can even offer recording sessions. I live near Florida State Universities campus, and can host my house as a studio for practice or can come to more convenient locations or households. Please contact me if you have any questions, or are interested in scheduling lessons. Thanks!

About Derrick
Greetings!

My name is Derrick Montgomery and I am currently the Professor of Trumpet at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. I am also working towards a Doctorate in Music from Florida State University.

I have been teaching students of all ages for over 10 years working with students of all ages. Many of my students have won accolades as for their playing including college scholarships, placement in All-State and District Bands, and Superior ratings in Solo/Ensemble Evaluations.

My approach to the trumpet is simple, produce a beautiful tone and the rest will fall in line. Much like learning to walk, speak, or drive, we do these acts unconsciously and easily, without thinking about it. I firmly believe that with practice, trumpet can be just as easy.

I look forward to working with you!
