I have been singing since I was old enough to sing and it's something I do professionally almost every day. I will teach you some basic techniques such as breathing, posture, singing exercises and how to select a repertoire that best fits you. From there, we will go on to develop your goals as a vocalist and make you feel great about taking the floor, whether it be at karaoke, a party, the stage or your living room. I'm excited to meet you and sing with you!

tial scholarship to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and relocated to NYC shortly after graduating.

She is like a cool aunt or a big sister who likes to have a good time but who also wants to teach you to play guitar or ukulele and sing, hopefully at the same time. Jessica's laid back style and attention to your needs as a student will help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Together, you will go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you. Jessica works with classic rock, pop, folk and all your favorite songs as your step ladder for learning. Jessica also can help you develop your own musical style and teach you to write YOUR OWN SONGS from beginning to end, if that is of interest to you.
*** Studio Equipment *** amp, microphone, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, music stands
*** Travel Equipment *** Guitar and Ukulele. Students can rent instruments initially but must get their own, as soon as possible
*** Specialties *** Classic stringed instruments such as acoustic / electric guitar and ukulele, and several unusual instruments such as singing saw and electronic and standard autoharp, singing, songwriting and guidance on how to monetize your band, including acquiring sponsorships and arranging local and international tours.
***What Are Lessons Like?*** Student(s) and teacher sit together and start with the basics, then move on to learn others' songs (The Beatles or other classics are a good place to start) and then may even try to compose original songs, if that is of interest.
***Affiliations*** Women In Music ASCAP The Recording Academy, Associate Member Comedy Musician's Coalition
Really enjoyed my first lesson. I got a lot of applicable tips for my future processing. Jessica is very talented. Hoping my next set of lessons so be just as promising!

Jessica is a virtuoso on the ukulele. She has the patience of a saint with less than adept students. Yet she is insistent, in a gentle way, about instilling correct form in her students' approach to the uke. In addition, she is a walking encyclopedia of songs that span the range from traditional to standards to current day favorites, and from country to r&B to rock and roll.

I am so fortunate to have found Jessica to teach the Ukulele. She is sweet, kind and truly a pleasure. very unassuming yet so focused on my particular needs when I lose my way. I strongly recommend her. I am so fortunate. Wait, did I say that already? Thank you Jessica.
Together we build your singing instrument using breath, vowels and tone so that, whatever style you choose to sing in, you are able to do it with ease. I recommend adults take from 45 minutes to 1 hour lessons weekly for skill building. The price of lessons DECREASES by 10% after each 5 lesson purchased for the first 15 lessons.
I have a Master’s in Opera Performance from the Boston and New England Conservatories as well as graduating from Vocal Performance programs at Boston University and Western Washington University. I have sung professionally with Boston Lyric Opera, Children’s Theater Companies, churches and synagogue and have toured on the east coast as well as Athens, Greece. Premiering new music is a specialty. I can help you prepare your pieces for auditions. My students have successful auditions for college opera and music theater programs, and as choir soloists.
Students gain a larger vocal range and an easy, natural way of singing whether it is in a rock band, choir or as a soloist. Together we find the joy of singing while building a solid technique.
I have worked with small children as a Musikgarten teacher and have toured artist residency
programs which introduce children to music and theater in schools. I was adjunct faculty at the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University and local music studios as well as maintaining my private teaching practice.
*** Lesson Details *** I am persistent and positive! Working and performing with singers and master teachers has helped me to be a resourceful teacher who understands the process of becoming a singer. I believe that a sense of fun and play helps you to accomplish your goals quickly. For beginners you will learn how the voice works and how to care for and develop your instrument, I recommend adults take 45" - 1 hour lessons weekly for skill building. We will choose music that interests you and helps to build your voice starting with basics before moving to more complex and challenging music. Understanding music theory and sight-reading will help you get the most out of your singing. After 3 - 6 months you should have a good command of breathing and an understanding of how to sing with an expressive tone. For the advanced student, I can help you work on trouble spots and give you tools to help with the changes that voices naturally go through. I look forward to giving you my full focus and celebrating your growth and accomplishments!
*** Studio Equipment *** Condo w/ open area with piano. Visitor's parking lot w/ seating in studio for parents to listen. Parents with younger siblings can use play areas outside. Basic library of vocal music, giving the student a way to sample different kinds of songs before purchasing books or downloading songs on their own. Music stand, iPhone plug-in/Amp for accompaniments and examples you want me to hear.
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide a basic library of vocal music at my home studio and will bring targeted books with me. Students should print out their favorite popular songs from such services as Music Notes website. I expect my students to provide a keyboard, music stand and notebook as well as a low distraction environment.
*** Specialties *** As an opera and musical theater, Oratorio and church singer, I help singers of all levels improve within their genre from popular music to opera. A good singing technique will help performers in any style stay healthy and enjoy an expressive singing instrument.
My daughter has learned so much with Julia in the past few weeks. It's been a true pleasure to witness the progress. They have worked on sight reading, tone, physical posture, and many other aspects of singing and sound production. Julia is a very caring and supportive instructor. She is full of enthusiasm and humor, and this shows in her choice of singing materials. We look forward to having more lessons with her!

I really liked my first lesson. I learned things that I can’t learn on my own.

She's nice and pretty, and try her best to help. Thanks.
My goal is to train voices to sing in a free, natural manner, while keeping your lessons engaging and fun.
Good singing technique offers you many more options as a singer. Technique can ultimately give us more freedom to express ourselves as artists, assisting style and expression. I will work with you so that as a singer, you will be able to sing through a greater range with more consistency. As a performer. you will become confident that your voice will deliver time after time.
I was born into a family of musicians. We must have had every style of music floating around every family gathering. I would roam with delight among the Mariachis, Rockers and R&B singers and musicians in my family. As early as 3 or 4 years old, in an effort to get me to quit bugging them, they began to invite me to sing with them.... at least that way I wasn't twirling around knocking down their equipment, or asking a bunch of questions while they were rehearsing or jamming. Music was always and continues to be part of my existence, as normal to me as breathing. I love to sing and enjoy sharing that passion with others. It makes my day to see my students grow in their talents and confidence.
From beginners who just want to sing for fun to the more experienced vocalists, I can help you understand how your voice works and how to ge
t the most out of it.
**In your first lesson, I will get to know you by asking for your vocal history, influences, goals, and style. Most importantly, “What would you like to get out of this lesson?” Every singer has different challenges, needs, and goals, so I approach each student and lesson as a unique experience where the student’s most pressing needs will be addressed.
I’ll give you an honest idea of where your voice needs to grow and then will work with the tools to get there! You will get a personalized lesson plan to practice with. Like a gym workout routine, these exercises will target your weak areas to correct bad habits and build a strong, balanced instrument.
**I will ask you to sing a song…… your latest repertoire, “Happy Birthday,” "twinkle twinkle little star", something just to get an idea of your voice and style. Then I will take you through a few singing technique exercises to quickly assess your strengths and challenges.
**As your technical abilities grow, you need to apply them to songs. The key is to maintain the same easy feeling in your songs that came out in the exercises. Bring in your music and we can work out any kinks and I will also suggest appropriate material in your key and style that will build upon the successes of your exercises. Stylistic and performance coaching is available, but our focus is technique, if you don’t learn HOW to sing, WHAT you sing will always be limited. I will work with you so that as a singer, you will be able to sing through a greater range with more consistency. As a performer. you will become confident that your voice will deliver time after time. My goal is to help you sing in a free, natural manner, while keeping your lessons engaging and fun.
-EAR TRAINING - As a choir and vocal director, I am trained to listen and pay special attention to all the details including pitch, vibrato, dynamic and harmonies. I will help you learn to listen and gain confidence to "hear" progressions in the music and their voice.
-STYLES/GENRES - Being a worship leader, choir and vocal director in a major urban church in the Sacramento area, I have over 13 years experience as a gospel artist and contemporary christian singer, singing, performing and recording with many gospel artists and contemporary christian artists, both local and professional. I have recorded and performed with such artists as Israel Houghton, Lincoln Brewster, BJ Putnan, Trent Corey, Darnisha Taylor and the Porter Brothers.
-SINGING/VOICE TRAINING - I am a Voice Teacher (student) with the Institute for Vocal Advancement. The IVA technique is based on 17th and 18th Century principles of singing developed by the Old Italian School of Singing. Our goal is to train voices to sing in a free and natural manner, smoothly, from the bottom of the range to the top with no breaks or sudden changes in quality. Training in this technique gives the singer access to all dynamics, with tonal clarity and flexibility. Also, training in this technique helps improve a singer's range, endurance, stamina, breath control, resonance, vocal strength and vocal quality across all styles of music without fatigue or damage to the voice. We accomplish these results by training the singer to find a balance between airflow and intrinsic muscular resistance, all within a resting laryngeal posture.
=PERFORMANCE OR AUDITION PREP- As a former entertainment business professional and singer, I have experience in dance, choreography, stage blocking, performance technique and vocal coaching. I will help you prepare for your performances and/or auditions to present the best YOU, that you can be!
My first session with Teresa was amazing. I really noticed an improvement in my voice through specific yet simple techniques. She is fun and very kind-hearted. I am looking forward to my future lessons with her!
August 10, 2017
Teresa's style is energetic, fun and very professional. Her instruction was awesome. My goals are being met and my first lesson has exceeded my expectations. I trust Teresa's expertise completely and look forward to our next sessions.

I am very lucky to have Teresa as my vocal teacher. Her passion for music is contagious and when she sings, her soul comes through. She's patient, encouraging and energizing. I love lessons with her, she truly cares for all of her students and she adjusts the lessons based on how comfortable you feel. Not only is she a great teacher but she also has an amazing personality and a tremendous amount of energy.
Within a few months, my vocal range has extended and I learned how to make my voice sound more powerful. Vocal training really doesn't get any better than this!
For many years I sang in my school Chamber Choir and took voice lessons. The choir performed regularly in pubic and in statewide competitions. I also have years of experience teaching the basics of singing in a low pressure way. Topics we learn about include breathing and breath control, pitch and intervals, keys and scales and singing harmony. I can accompany a student while they sing, and hopefully teach them the basics of accompanying themselves.
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen years, and I'm looking to get a few new students. I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I have a knack for teaching young people, probably because I was young when I started my musical journey. I've been very successful at inspiring a student's love of music and instilling the patience required to take on the challenge of playing an instrument. The first thing I like to do is get to know you, the music you enjoy and your goals. In a way, I l
ike to begin by letting the student lead. In addition to learning from you, I intend to present you with new information, to try and broaden your musical tastes and teach you how to be an active listener.
David has been so amazing with out 9 year old daughter. We have gone to him for over 2 years and she has come so far with her skills! He has so much patience. He's so kind and wonderful with kids. We were recommended by a friend and now we recommend him! He's high in demand for sure! We are sad we can't use him anymore due to scheduling issues. His prices are better than others too!

Quickly contextualized my needs as a student, and got me familiar with components and techniques of composition. The goal was to be able to help me more easily communicate ideas and designs to audio engineers at a company I work at. There has been a very observable benefit to this in the expedience of discussions, and fidelity of concept being engineered.

David is very kind and sweet to my kid. He has so much patient. He makes the class fun, entertain and way beyond expectation.
So you want to learn how to sing! Great! I'd love to help you!
I've been singing professionally at Walt Disney World for over 22 years (and still singing there). It is (and has been) a dream job. I sing with The Voices of Liberty at Epcot and The Dapper Dans of Main Street at The Magic Kingdom.
Also, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Penn State with an emphasis in Voice.
I want to help you to sing as musically as you possibly can while maintaining excellent vocal health. I want people to be in "awe" when they hear you sing. Let's get started!
Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m
usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.
I'm a professional singer, actor and voice teacher living and working in NY. I work with students on building a solid vocal technique and developing healthy singing habits. Working together we will develop the skills required to hone your craft and help you reach your full potential as a singer. I believe it is never too early or too late to study voice. If you are looking to prepare for auditions and/or performances, we will work on "acting the song" and interpretation as well!
Hi! I'm a professional singer, actor, and voice teacher and I love teaching my craft. I am a certified VIP (Vocology In Practice) teacher, and I offer affordable voice lessons in NYC, Queens, and Long Island. I am very passionate about healthy singing and firmly believe that armed with the proper knowledge and tools anyone can learn to sing! In terms of children, it has been proven that children who study music are happier, smarter, and more confident. I will introduce your child to the joy of music not just by singing songs, but in a course that teaches music literacy, vocal technique, and ear training as well. Most importantly, we are having fun while taking this journey! I can also work with you/your child on acting monologues and/or sides for auditions. This especially comes in handy while preparing for musical theatre auditions. Chee
I have been a professional singer and actor for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I coached my fellow professionals on the techniques I have developed to improve my vocal quality, projection, range, and stamina - in all those years I have only missed one 45 minute set due to vocal fatigue. I’ve coached musical theatre performers, actors who want to add “singing” to their resume, professional singers, beginners (both children and adults) and everything in between.
I'm a passionate professional vocalist and a fourth generation music educator. With 20+ years of professional performing, coaching and teaching experience under my belt, my vocal teaching method unites my classical and musical theatre educational background with the techniques I have developed for singing Jazz, Rock, R&B, Country, etc believably, beautifully, and above all, safely!
In expanding my teaching practice to include piano and ukulele, I emphasize rhythm and musicality alongside technique and note reading. I always set myself the goal of learning what makes a musician sound "right," and not just "good" in a particular genre. This versatility has made me extremely employable as an artist, and, I think, uniquely qualified to teach. I believe that students will work harder on music that moves them, and I always encourage students
to suggest songs that they care about. Good technique(s) can be applied to any repertoire!
Note: I believe that regular weekly lessons are essential to establishing good habits and making progress. As a result, I can only accept students who are interested in taking a lesson each week. Requests for biweekly lessons will regretfully be denied. Thanks!
Julia is an amazing piano teacher who is always more than accommodating with her schedule. I love the way she teaches and she always uses great analogies to help me understand the lesson better. I am an adult who has never played piano and she has really made the learning experience fun for me. I look forward to continuing my lessons with her. Highly recommend!!

Julia is great. Very professional and with great attitude to students.
November 20, 2018
Julia is simply AWESOME!! She is intuitive and patient!! And let’s not forget knowledgeable and extremely talented!! I am so lucky to have her as my teacher!!
"My daughter very much enjoyed her lesson and cannot wait for her next lesson."
"My son (14) and daughter (12) take voice lessons from Michelle (and Robert) and they have learned SO much. Michelle is great! She is patient and always
goes above and beyond. She has become a positive role model for them both and they really look up to her. My kids started voice lessons because they are interested in musical theater, so she has helped them with preparation, auditioning and confidence. Michelle teaches them so much more, though. They are learning songs in different languages and different styles to expand their knowledge and their voices. Their voices have grown so much since starting lessons and I am so proud of them! We are very lucky to have found Michelle and Robert and consider it a blessing to have them in our lives."
Benjamin is very professional and pleasant to work with. He possess great knowledge about music and shares his talent with enthusiasm and
brings out the best in his students. The open-minded attitude in imparting training in different languages or style that he brings to every aspect of his instruction is unique. We are glad to have him as a teacher for our children. We highly recommend him."
"Just had my first lesson and I feel like I already learned a lot. Can't wait for more lessons with him!"
"Camille is a great instructor! She is calm and encouraging. She has taught me so much about vocal anatomy and important aspects of singing such as breath
support, posture, mouth and jaw placement, etc., which in turn has helped in hitting those higher notes. I highly recommend Camille as a vocal coach!"
"Lauren is an exceptionally talented instructor. I am looking forward to the continued refinement of my singing voice."
"Most fun I have had in years. Loretta breaks it down!"
There are dozens of excellent alto songs to choose from, whether you have an upcoming audition or performance.
The most important part of vocal auditions is taking a piece and making it your own. When looking for talent, directors don’t want to hear another rendition of something they've heard many times before; you need to make sure you stand out!
Check out this video for a few alto audition songs, and then keep scrolling for more options that are bound to make an impression.
