I took lessons with Aya when I was in high school 13 years ago. She was very inspiring and because of her I decided to major in Music. I’m currently finishing my doctorate in Music and I am much indebted to her for exposing me to such a high level of artistry and instilling me with so much confidence at such a young age. I have very fond memories of Aya’s wonderful teaching.

When my son was 11, he decided to take piano lessons. Mr Montavo, asked him why he chose that instrument and proceeded to have a conversation about the importance of practicing and not giving up. He is an amazing pianist and has a good knowledge of how to help kids succeed and grow as a musician. He helps with educating the parents on what kind of keyboard, piano, and music is best for your child

If you want to learn how to begin playing the piano, I am you man. I focus on scales, selections, and cadences to help you learn the beginnings of piano playing. I can take you through simple four part melodies with pedals, playing from a lead sheet, and even a bit of transposition. A small amount of music theory will be involved in your lessons.

I have been playing the piano for 7 years and have a Bachelor's Degree in Music. I am also a Certified Montessori Teacher that knows how to inspire and motivate children to reach their full potential. If your child is a natural musician that has a desire to learn the piano, give these lessons a try. Depending on your child's goals, I think it's important to encourage children to improve their music reading skills and learn new songs. Lessons should always offer opportunities to learn while having fun. Reading music takes time and effort, so having a patient teacher that knows how to challenge each student is important. With these lessons your child will have some songs to play for the family in no time. Hope to see you soon!

About Lauren

I am a trained opera singer, pianist and performer. I sing for all kinds of audiences ranging from the collegiate level to weddings and even open mic nights. I was a part of auditioned ensembles from High School to College. I sang with the Winthrop Jazz Voices, Honors Choir and the South Carolina

I like to watch a child's face light up when they learn something; I make it fun and bring incentives (stickers, snacks, treats, lil rewards for a job well done). I make sure to ask if they've practiced (I ask for 15+min a day). I always start with the hand position and strong posture, and then start with scales to warm fingers up. I like to work on 1-2 songs per week and then as the student progresses add more challenges. I also incorporate youtube or fun art history or interesting "stories behind the songs" too if possible. (For instance, for homework, ask your parent if you may go online and view a picture or a video of a full orchestra, or watch a waltz).

About Christiana

I started playing piano when I was about 9yo. I played for vocalists in college too. I play for churches and I love to teach beginners. I love my dogs and am active outside and in the gym. I am a foodie, I love movies and soundtracks, and am an eclectic musical lover.

Piano is such a beautiful instrument. I think it is a foundational instrument to learn for younger children. There are so many benefits gained in a child's life from learning an instrument in addition to learning the instrument. I'm especially good teaching younger beginning students. I also enjoy teaching beginner piano to all ages! I'm a children's music therapist and love to incorporate singing into the lessons if the students wants to sing and play piano. Students can expect a fun, relaxed and positive experience in their lessons. Lessons are adapted to meet the needs of each individual student.

About Heather

Heather holds a Music Degree for Music Therapy from the University of Iowa. She is especially good with younger children and those with special needs. Much of her work experience has been with people of varied developmental and learning challenges. Her specialty is developing adaptive, one on one

"I took piano lessons with Ardalan for quite a while. He’s knowledgeable, patient and caring. He is experienced working with both adults and children and modifies his approach to meet each student’s needs. I had a bad experience learning music when I was a child and was reluctant to take lessons as an adult. Ardalan definitely helped me gain that confidence back and feel that I could actually enjoy the music while learning it. Besides his teaching skills, Ardalan is a wonderful artist and anyone who takes a class with him will look forward to each session and learn a lot from him."

"Wonderful Piano Teacher!

Ms. Miller is a caring and friendly piano teacher. Unlike my piano teachers in the past who were very strict, my daughter is very lucky to be under the tutelage of Ms. Miller. She's well experienced in teaching children, though I'm not sure if she has adult students. In addition, she has a cute, little assistant with her who welcomes all her students when they come in for their lessons."

5 Jazz Piano Exercises for Beginners

Do you want to sharpen your jazz piano skills? Below, piano teacher Jason B. shares five jazz piano exercises you can do to bring out your inner jazz pianist... Jazz is one of the few piano styles that allows total creative freedom. Expert jazz pianists reshape not only the rhythms and melody of a song, but they are also given a solo section that allows them to create new melodies on the spot. While this creative freedom is liberating, it also can be overwhelming when you're just sta …
