I am a high school choir director and have experience working with all voice types, ability levels and experience -- and I love every single one of them! One of my favorite aspects of teaching private lessons is that I get to find out and help shape my students' goals, whether it be recording their own music, auditioning for music programs/competitive music scholarships, or simply gaining confidence as a singer! The sky is the limit and it's important to me that I am helping each student in the unique ways that they need!

I have a passion for teaching people to sing to the best of their ability with the instrument they have been given! I want to teach others to sing like THEM, not like someone else or in a certain style, but to unlock their potential! There aren't shortcuts, but we can be relaxed, comfortable, and laugh on the journey to improvement! This is first and foremost a safe space to make mistakes and learn the correct way to use our bodies to sing. I have a bachelor's degree in music and performance from the University of North Georgia and have been teaching lessons for over eight years with students of all ages and backgrounds. I am excited to share what I have learned to help YOU sing to the best of your ability!

I've been teaching Singing for three years and have 13 years of professional singing experience. The curriculum I use is based on the wealth of music in my personal music library that is available for students to use. Students are also welcome to bring in their own sheet music. My teaching philosophy is content-based. I like to demonstrate the songs for students, and then let them fly with their own ideas.

Singing .....for the very first time in my life.
I did an Internet search, and it turns out the universe was very good to me. I discovered Stephanie.
She is a beam of energy and positive light… That makes everything fun, interesting and exciting. She has a knack for mixing physical, mental and technical intricacies of music, voice and sound… with the ability to deliver it in a succinct, understandable package… that even a complete novice like me was able to digest, and to my surprise, eventually execute.
Personal discovery can be a very exciting event. This was certainly no exception. I have Stephanie to thank for this one!
I would highly recommend her for anyone searching for a music or voice teacher.
Next up… Piano. My teacher… well, Stephanie of course!"

She help bridge the gap in my transition in moving up the scale smoothly embracing my head range voice.
I already know I had it but wasn't comfortable nor confident in useing it.
Thanks Sooo.... much for building my reassure in myself.
I am what God says I am!"

I am a woman in my 40s with very little formal vocal training. I sing very part time in a cover band (mostly 80s & 90s rock). I have had weekly half-hour singing lessons with Arlys for the past 16 weeks. In just this short time, I have experienced a dramatic transformation in my voice and confidence. I have learned how to warm-up my voice, stand and breathe correctly, form vowel sounds to enhance pitch and tone, transition more easily through chest and head voice, and I have added at least 4 notes to the upper end of my âperformance range.â My stamina has increased as well. I can now easily sing without tiring or vocal fade-out for 90 minutes or more. Arlysâ strengths are her knowledge of how anatomy affects the voice, her ability to explain techniques in a variety of ways (so that at least one of them clicks for me), a prodigious sense of humor, flexibility, and a passion for both teaching and her own continuous learning. Arlys is delightful, and I wholeheartedly recommend her for anyone who wishes to sing better, especially shy singers, young people, and those who need to know âwhyâ or âhowâ something works."

Since the first lesson you could hear something happening. I've never heard the progress like the first seating. Matthew knows how to teach! He teaches to warm up your voice. My daughter is getting more familiar with keys and her notes. My daughter is excited and looks forward to her next lesson. He is definitely a keeper!"
