Hi! I am an experienced voice/piano teacher in the Louisville, KY area. I am a Music Major at Western Kentucky University where I study piano and voice. While taking lessons with me, you’ll find that each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach. Each lesson is designed to incorporate music theory, technique and performance etiquette.

At the end of each semester, students will have the opportunity to perform in a recital for their family and friends! While this is not required, it is a great way to show off all the progress they have made. You’ll find that my rates are very affordable compared to some teachers. This is because I want to make the lessons affordable for all! I am always available to answer any questions the student has regarding any of the topics we work on. Please message me if you have any questions!

About Chase

Chase is a Music Education Major at Western Kentucky University where he studies Piano & Voice. Chase has had the pleasure to study under the direction of Dr. Wayne Pope, and will graduate in Spring 2021. I have 10 years of teaching experience and teach beginning to intermediate violin lessons. Violin was the first instrument I learned to play and I especially enjoy working with beginning string players. Developing a good ear for pitches and proper playing technique are extremely important for string players and I focus on these areas foremost. Each lesson is customized for the student’s age, interest, and technical level.

About Linnea

I am a freelance oboist, reed maker, and music teacher in the Seattle area. My teaching studio is currently based in Everett. I have eight years of teaching experience and love working with students of all ages. My primary instrument is oboe, but I also have a passion for teaching beginning viol

"Jimmy has a very in-depth approach to teach music, starting from the fundamentals and building on top of them. I've been studying acoustic guitar and mainly music theory with Jimmy for the past 3 months with no prior music knowledge, and I believe I already learned a huge amount about music.

I prefer taking the 1 hour lessons each week, since it provides enough time to think about the material being taught and to ask meaningful questions. I believe Jimmy's objective is to get the student to think about music critically, not just to memorize information.

I fully enjoy the lessons and think they are worth the effort and time!"

5 Reasons My Guitar Might Be My Best Friend

Music can be a very rewarding experience - and a personal one, at that. Most musicians spend a LOT of time with their instrument, often baring their souls in the form of melodies and lyrics. If you treat your guitar like part of the family - or your best friend - you'll relate to what Gresham, OR guitar teacher Ed P. has to say here...   Did you know that some of the old blues players named their guitars?  Some of them were even rumored to sleep with their guitars.  I’m not saying tha …
