With over ten years of professional experience playing in all styles and genres, I believe together we can set key learning outcomes and joyfully help build your confidence as a pianist. I will give you the tools you need to build a healthy relationship with your instrument in a safe and fun environment. My goal for you as my student is to reach your musical potential while having a wonderful time!

I have been helping beginners and other more experienced musicians to learn to play the piano for 23 years. We can start from scratch and advance through five levels of piano methods. I have used various published methods over the years depending upon the experience and age of the student. I emphasize fundamental techniques of piano playing and music reading. A good piano player can eventually play any style he or she would like to focus on. It is never too late, you can begin to learn to play piano today!

My background in classical, jazz, pop, songwriting, composing, and arranging all make me an extremely versatile piano teacher. I teach using a personal method which combines parts of all the most popular methods for piano to create an extremely varied and flexible method for each individual student. Using my experience as a composer/arranger, I frequently create arrangements for students when they express a desire to learn specific music, as I skillfully appropriate arrangements for each students' skill level.

Students will not only learn how to play the piano, but how to express themselves with it, as I keep creativity a high priority in students' progress and encourage improvisation. Students will also be introduced to basic music theory which will help them grow even further in their musical development and stimulate creativity. In English, Español ou Português! The piano classes are a very fun and practical way to learn and practice classical songs, as well as pop and Brazilian tunes! Can be based on playing by ear or reading sheet music and chords. Also, can includes some trainings on technique, creativity and composition, to start putting your ideas together to create your own songs or creating your own arrangement for composers you like!
