Finding your real voice, free vocalizing, harmony, blending, improve usable range, the mixed voice. The first steps to mastering vocal freedom are the building blocks for vocal success. Whether the student is a child or an adult, with little or no training, it is my goal to make singing an enjoyable and freeing experience. Singing with complete vocal freedom and confidence can seem very elusive. Surprisingly, it's not as elusive as one might think! The steps to vocal freedom are within reach and most students experience a measure of freedom within the first lessons. Using a systematic method incorporating learning technique and songs the student loves to sing makes learning more fun and gives the student a greater appreciation of music as a whole while encouraging a passion for music that lasts a lifetime.
About Cosima
For students who are just beginning their vocal journey or are busy performers who want to improve healthy technique and sing with more confidence; or perhaps a worship leader or backup singer is struggling with vocal strain, my goal is to help them find vocal freedom and maintain an amazing, healthy voice that will confidently meet their expectations, year after year, in every situation, every time.
As an active performing vocalist, musician, songwriter, and Christian worship artist and band lea

Singing with complete vocal freedom and confidence can seem very elusive. Surprisingly, it's not as elusive as one might think! Vocal freedom is within reach and most students experience a measure of it within the few first lessons, some even gaining a full octave in their range in their first lessons. Using a systematic method incorporating the study of good vocal technique and working on songs the student loves to sing makes learning more fun and gives the student a greater appreciation of music as a whole while encouraging a passion for music that lasts a lifetime. I encourage and teach sight reading, and theory basics especially for those students who are considering music as a profession.

The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you need to understand how each part of your instrument works to create music. You also need to know the best way to take care of your instrument so that you don't permanently damage it.
I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship.
About Tina
Students I have worked with have won competitions and even been accepted into the AMDA in New York.

I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons not just instructional but fun.

I use a wide variety of techniques to sing, play piano and other instruments. Techniques include straight vowel singing (no words) to test how long to hold notes, using color to help people sight read, using improvisational techniques in order to play jazz, rock, classical and many other styles of music.
I use what they student has under his or her belt as a starting point to see what lessons we could start them on.
I also assist with online lessons to make transportation a thing of the past. If you've got a webcam or Skype, I can do long-distance lessons with you! So, I am here to help!

I am a strong believer in making the learning process fun and enjoyable. I want my students to be motivated to learn and practice as much as possible. My teaching style consists of starting with the basics (technique, theory, and reading music) then graduating to style and phrasing. *** Specialties ***
I believe that technique is very important when it comes to piano. I start with teaching the basic scales, hand positions, and good posture. Then I begin teaching music theory, in which the student learns how to read notes, rhythms, dynamics, etc. Once the student becomes proficient in reading and technique, I give them more difficult pieces in order to work on style, voicing, and phrasing.

I want to create a music learning experience tailored to you! Whether you're looking to pursue a career in music or just get comfortable with an instrument to play at parties or around a campfire, we can create a plan to make you feel both comfortable and challenged.
We'll start with the basics (posture, placement, theory, breath) and build from there. As you are learning about your instrument, I am learning how best to support you. Every person is unique and your instrument is no different. Depending on your knowledge and ability, I can speed up the process or slow it down.
About Katey
I also teach and play piano, guitar, ukulele, and clarinet. In my free time, I write music with my guitar and ukulele, mostly about social justice and my kitty, Rumble.
PLEASE NOTE: I do not have a piano at my studio. I have a keyboard but, if you are a piano student, I recommend meeting at a location with a piano.
Don't let money hold you or your child back from learning an instrument. Please reach out to me if you would like a sliding scale fee.

About Stormie C.
CloseI truly love being a part of their journey furthering their love for music and helping others find their voice . Throughout my singing career I've been involved in state vocal completions, multiple choirs, musical theater, acapella groups, background singing and having a blast singing with live bands. I have been a vocal instructor for over four years and in that time have taught students ranging from 3-71years old. During my teaching career I've learned every voice is different and has the potential for great things and my job is to help my students discover it. I enjoy blending what I've learned while being a professional vocalist as well as using the tools I've gained in my music education.
About Stormie
Vocal lessons are about so much more than just learning to sing a scale correctly. When teaching I love to see my students gain self confidence, knowledge, passion and grow from where they started.
I enjoy all genres of music and love exploring many different vocal techniques to adapt to each genre and tune. My love for music stems from growing up in a musical family, my mother playing flute and my father being a vocalist and an actor. I started sing at 5 years old and began taking lessons myself at the age of 6 years old. Growing up I found that music has so many layers and while in college getting my degree in Social Science I also learned to compose music and work in sound design. Besides singing and teaching I also work for a music publishing company which keeps me update on the constant changing world of music.

Parent's Perspective:
My daughter is that Type A personality and doesn't believe in doing even her passion unless she has all the knowledge she can acquire in order for her to be comfortable. She self sought out a music teacher that could give her this knowledge. She found the Take Lessons website and then found Milton. She relentlessly inquired for me to please sign her up for singing lessons with him. I was so happy that she did the research herself that our journey began with Milton. Instantly they had a connection and she has grown tremendously vocally in the short amount of time she has been taking lessons with him. She has learned techniques that have expanded her range far beyond what she thought she was capable of acheiving. He is funny, makes her laugh, encourages her not to be afraid and knows just what she needs to push her a little further. He always inquires how she feels about what they are working on and also whether or not there is anything else she would like to focus on as well. They plan together which makes the lessons exactly what she needs. He ignites her passion fro music over and over and over again.
