Fingers or a pick? Why did you you choose electric bass over the guitar? I’ll help you understand the role of a bass guitar and show you basic techniques to those catchy fills that have been remembered for decades.
Beginner level: technique and positioning is paramount. I prefer to use fingers over a pick to begin with but it is purely your choice. I will start from one position (left hand) and work with the right amount of finger strength (both hands), timing of notes, and coordination. A plethora of popular songs can be played in just one spot on the fret!
Next, I will incorporate some simple theory and show you how to move around the fretboard comfortably by shifting or sliding and really emphasize cooperation with the right hand. You want to make those notes shine and “mean it”. You are the band’s “anchor” and you Must listen to your bandmates (even if you are just jamming to your favorite songs).
My goal is to make you feel comfortable in your role and get the ...

I have a passion for teaching people to sing to the best of their ability with the instrument they have been given! I want to teach others to sing like THEM, not like someone else or in a certain style, but to unlock their potential! There aren't shortcuts, but we can be relaxed, comfortable, and laugh on the journey to improvement! This is first and foremost a safe space to make mistakes and learn the correct way to use our bodies to sing. I have a bachelor's degree in music and performance from the University of North Georgia and have been teaching lessons for over eight years with students of all ages and backgrounds. I am excited to share what I have learned to help YOU sing to the best of your ability!
About Melissa

I have been teaching voice lessons since I was in college! People kept asking me to teach them, so I did. I teach both classical and musical theatre singing, so if you would like to learn to belt or sing in Italian, I can help! I am experienced in French, Italian and German diction. For musical theatre, I teach both classical style (high voice) and belt (lower voice). I have a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a Music emphasis, so I can also help with aural skills like counting systems and solfege. Solfege will help A TON if you want to pursue music in college. For younger singers, I can help with picking appropriately ranged songs to build vocal agility and strength.
About Nicholette
I take a very positive approach to teaching. I'll encourage you and guide you to reach your fullest potential, whatever your goals are. I focus a lot on technique(breath, sound, vowels and vocalization) because that is foundational for everyone and it will help you no matter what you want to achiev

You walk into your sheet music store and start browsing. You look at the method books, technique books, repertoire… and then your eyes see something else. You pick it up and see it is called a "fake book." An odd name for a real book. You open it up and see that it contains music. So what exactly is it? A piano fake book allows you to read and play music on your piano. But unlike your typical books, which contain the score as written by the composer or arranger, a fake book is more of a …
