Kay seems very knowledgeable and has great experience!
Julian
I have been working with Kay for 4 years and have seen great improvement in not only my sound, but my technique, going from a frequent ensemble member, to being fortunate enough to be cast in leading roles, Kay has brought me a very long way.
Elijah
Kay has been teaching me for about a year now and it has been a wonderful experience. She is always polite and kind when we meet, she is flexible with scheduling when the issues of life come up. Of course she is incredibly knowledgeable with vocal technique and the world of Professional Singing which is very helpful for someone like me who has little experience.

Kay is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. She is very encouraging and never makes me feel dumb when I hit a sour note. (As a beginning beginner, that happens a lot!) I am amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time!

I have been playing and teaching banjo since 2006, and I'm always very excited to introduce new students to this unique instrument. I focus on the "Scruggs-style" method of playing 5-string banjo, and we'll work on techniques used in common bluegrass and folk tunes. As you advance, I'll help you in creating your own banjo solo breaks.

So far so good. Very patient as mistakes after mistake was made. Corrected quite a few mistakes I was making so that my habits would be good habits from the start. Let me talk to myself as I messed up and complimented me when I was on the right track.

Great lesson! Thanks!
Robert C.
complete novice; adult student. First lesson very relaxed. Excellent blend through-out lesson of questions and information my goals and background as well as instructor's goals for me and his background. First "technical" part of lesson was manageable and care taken by Lyle to make sure I understood what was being presented. I left the first lesson feeling this would be a good fit between instructor and student

I am a graduate from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins with a Master's degree in vocal performance!

In addition to the formal training I have accumulated in Opera and classical music, I have over five years’ experience coaching students in pop and musical theatre, as well as 15 years of performance experience. I am willing to work on an array of musical genres with students of all ages and skill levels.

Whether you or your child would like to start working towards a professional career in music, wants to just have fun, or anything in between - I can help you get there. More than anything, I want my students to experience the happiness and healing that music performance has brought to me.

I also have experience working with remote lessons and I am happy to share my ‘tips-of-the-trade’ for adapting to our current circumstances as a professional singer!

I have loved doing singing lessons with Claire! It has been so much fun and I look forward to doing them every week! Claire is such an amazing teacher and is an awesome person to work with!

Claire has been an extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and flexible teacher! I started lessons a few months ago and have struggled with nerves, projection, and breathing all of which we've been able to work on virtually. I have felt so much progress working through stage freight, and I even recorded myself singing and listed to it after our last lesson (which I never thought I'd have the guts to do)! She has been absolutely incredible to work with making sure to prioritize whatever I am looking to get out of the lessons. As someone who has never taken voice lessons before, I have gained exposure to new techniques as well as learning my vocal range and what pitches work best for my voice. Definitely recommend!!!

Claire is amazing! She is the most knowledgeable and patient teacher I’ve ever had. Claire has helped me find my voice and build my confidence. She is helping me push towards all of my goals with her positive and reassuring attitude. If you need an instructor to bring out the best on you, she is the one to go to.

"Mr. Johnson is a FABULOUS violin instructor. I haven't played in 20 years, and after a few lessons my technique is coming back. His teaching style is one where he pushes you beyond your expectations. He's an excellent teacher for beginners and experienced violinists. I also love that he is so talented in many genres of music...such a gifted violinist. Hope to play like him again soon. I highly recommend this teacher."

In particular, Ian is able to keep my grandson interested and enthusiastic by encouraging suggestions for new songs, as well as my grandson's own ideas for his own music."
