I graduated with a BA in jazz studies from Columbia in 2007 and have been teaching since 2005. I have played in many different projects, covering many styles including Rock, Jazz, Latin, Hip hop, classical, orchestral, and country. So, I have a strong understanding on the specifics of each of these styles, and a big part of my lesson plan is to teach my students to be as versatile as possible. Hence they have many options as far as playing music. I also play a wide variety of instruments including Piano, Latin Percussion, Mallets, Drum set, Guitar, and bass, so if at any point a student has an interest in trying something different t they have many options.

rformance from Columbia college Chicago, where he studied Drumset with Chicago legend Tom Hipskind, conga virtuoso's Rubin Alverez, and Giovanni Hildalgo, and studio vibraphonist Rick Embach. Gabriel has a high success rate with his students including the winner of the "Heat Strokes" drum competition 2007, Joey Handley. Gabriel's method of teaching is relaxed, yet enthusiastic he strives for making even the most complex musical ideas as simple as possible, and overall making learning fun.

It's always overwhelming when your trying out a new instrument for the first time but David is the one to show you in the right direction. In just a short hour, he had showed me the basic principle on how to play and how to read the notes off the page which were greatly helpful. I can't wait to go to my next session!

About Trapper
Trapper is a Wisconsin-based tunesmith and teller of tales (both tall and true). His songwriting and storytelling have landed him on international tours with artists like the Wallflowers, Jayhawks and Old 97's and he's most recently released his second album Rangers & Valentines through the London based record label, Xtra Mile Recordings. The record follows his critically acclaimed 2012 debut Run Engine, Run, with his band the Shades. That LP earned notices in Rolling Stone, American Songwriter and Paste, with the folks at Huffington Post calling him a “master storyteller” and PBS hailing his “story songs that explore and explode the conventions of rock and roll.”

Aptly, Trapper has a Certificate in Rock and Roll Studies from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and spent time as a DJ at NPR's Milwaukee Public Radio. His musicianship a
nd industry experience have led him to instructing, where he'll help hone guitar skills from beginner to intermediate players.

About Damien
As stated in my teaching profile, "Taking lessons from me would open your drumming world up to your own interpretations. Once you're ready I take it a few steps further and pick up a bass and/or guitar while you are drumming to develop your feel for timing, fills, rhythm changes, and give your muscle memory and critical thinking skills a workout." In addition to that I have a network of musicians that would make themselves available to play along as well.

There's many teachers out there but finding one that is compatible with you and your personality as well as having the ability to let you develop and grow as you want to versus urging or forcing you to be a carbon copy of themselves is the key. If you put me at the top of your list you might not have to look any further. The good thing is that if you do try me first and don't think I
'm the right fit for you there are still MANY teachers out there for you to try.

I'm currently in a band that's gigging around Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha and beyond. We've just passed 8yrs together and have been performing live for over 7yrs. I'm a member of the Council of Festival Committees. I have been on the Board of Directors of WAMI, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry, for the past 3 years and have been on the WAMI Youth Showcase Committee, which is held every year at Summerfest for the past 6 years. I am an advocate for original musicians and increasing market share for original music as a whole. I'm proud to announce that I have created and successfully launched an all original performing arts showcase titled, the Midwest Original Music Festival, that took place at Croatian Park in Franklin, WI over the weekend of 8/18 - 8/20. I have many connections within the music industry and I'm an all around good guy to know.

I have not paid the $20 through this website for a background check because it would just be a redundant expense for me. I'm a family man with a 9yr old son. No criminal record. Non smoker. No drug or alcohol dependencies. My background has been checked by my son's school so I would be able to be a chaperone. Also, In 2016, I had passed a background check through the Wisconsin Department of Justice to obtain my concealed carry permit for my part time job.
