About Kendra R.
Hello. My name is Kendra and I have been performing and teaching professionally for over 25 years. Utilizing the Suzuki curriculum and supplemental methods, I like to provide a solid technical foundation as well as tailor each lesson to my students' personal musical interests and goals including classical, Irish and Bluegrass fiddle styles, jazz, blues, and popular music.
Please note that I reserve studio space on a weekly or bi monthly basis. I look forward to helping you study music and reach your goals!

It went greater than I expected. Very very impressed - explanations very clear, easy to understand - some tricks to improve a few things - couldn’t wait until I could practice those tips. Practiced another 25-30 minutes after my lesson. I’m already looking forward to my next lesson in a week - she made me feel at ease very quickly.Show More
She is a great instructor! Very patient, especially when there are weeks where I don't get to practice very much because of work. She is understanding and always looks for the progress.
My 12 year old daughter had her first violin lesson today and this is her response on why she is giving Kendra a 5 star
- she was patient when I didn’t understand something
-she was good at explaining “how to” do different things throughout the lesson that I could understand
-she was overall really nice
Kendra is amazing! She's perfect at finding problems and helping the student to resolve them while challenging to be better and better.
Kendra has been a wonderful instructor for our daughter, Kate. She has a great way of "scaffolding" the learning, so that Kate is almost always at the edge of her abilities.... not too easy and not too hard. Kate enjoys Kendra's approach and is very comfortable with her. We have been very happy with Kate's motivation to practice and with her progress in learning. She especially enjoys the variety of music that Kendra encourages her to play.Show More
Kendra is a kind, patient, experienced teacher. My son has made a lot of progress in only a few lessons. His tone quality has improved considerably and he really enjoys his lesson time with Kendra.
First class was really good. Kendra is very encouraging. I am excited for the future.
My daughter loved her first beginner violin lesson!
Thank you Kendra for the wonderful lesson. I look forward to the next!
Kendra is amazing!!!! So happy & encouraging!!! Has patience for questions and if you don't understand something right away!!!! I'm loving my violin lessons!!!!
I'm an older, experienced player that has had some specific problems after returning to violin after a long hiatus. I was concerned most with my vibrato and a bouncing bow. Kendra zeroed right in on those problems and they were resolved in just three lessons. Kendra is patient, knowledgeable and perfect for an adult player at any level. I imagine she is fantastic with younger players, as well.Show More
It's amazing how remote sessions with Kendra would be this effective for my 12-year old daughter. Definitely planning on continuing the lessons!
Very knowledgeable and patient.
All I can say is that Kendra has been the perfect teacher for my daughter. Very patient and with clear direction. Many times she goes over the time limit too which indicates she is more about helping the student.
Our 9 year old daughter loved her first violin lesson with Ms. Kendra!
We tried the first skype session - it's amazing what can be accomplished in 30 minutes with a right teacher! My daughter is excited for the next session!
Mrs. Kendra was very sweet and patient with my 4 year old daughter. I can see that Mrs. Kendra has a lot of teaching experience and a very welcoming personality. We are looking forward to more lessons :)
Kendra is very patient and kind; my daughter loves her!
Kendra is the best.
Kendra is an amazing viola teacher. Since this was my first online lesson ever, I was skeptical at first. However, Kendra's kindness and positive attitude assured me that I had made the right decision. She covers many aspects of both the technical parts of handling the viola, as well as perfecting intonation and handling a wide variety of styles of music. She also is attentive to specific needs, and accomodates for different paths depending on individual goals. Thanks for all you do for me Kendra!Show More
Very personable and teaches the violin very clearly, she is excellent !
We are so excited about how much we learned in thirty minutes. We are on our way!
Not only is Kendra a gifted musician, she has the ability to teach, which is a rare talent. I'd highly recommend Kendra for beginning to advanced students!
My daughter loved it!
Kendra has been tutoring one of my daughters for about 2-1/2 years, and tutored my other daughter for about 6 months. We have been extremely pleased with the progress they both have made working with Kendra. She is very good at identifying where a student needs to make corrections and does it in a way that is positive and easy to understand. She is excellent at helping students find their own voice - interpreting the music and infusing creativity and meaning into each piece. We really appreciate how she has individualized her teaching approach to each of my girls' needs and goals, and how she is always positive and enthusiastic about their progress. When Kendra moved out of state, we opted to continue lessons with her online rather than find a new local teacher because she has been (and continues to be) such a great instructor. I highly recommend Kendra as a violin/viola teacher.Show More
