Specialized in soprano and baritone ukulele! All ages welcome. I have experience teaching very young children up to adults. Learning the basics doesn't have to be difficult or boring. You'll learn note reading, sight reading, technique, and more. From my own experience, it's easier to learn songs you love. I will also teach you the basics of recording your own music and learning how to harmonize with your instrument and voice! You will also have the option to record HD videos while you progress to see how much you've learned over time. I look forward to working with you or your child!

Mr. Gary is very patient with our son, and has ignited a real love of the instrument and given our son confidence. He never gets short and is always calm and encouraging, even when our son is not into it at all.
He teaches the fundamentals of breath, playing musically and how to take care of the instrument.
Mr. Gary is always encouraging and positive, and that helps to encourage a love for the music and instrument. Our son has definitely taken to the trombone and a lot of that is due to Mr. Gary's great teaching.

I've been teaching singing and vocal performance for over four years. I utilize the Kodaly method for vocal performance, starting at the basic level of tonal scales (major, minor, harmonic, melodic, etc.) and Solfege application to serve as a foundational base; rhythm syllables such as "ta" and "doo". Additionally, foundational breath control is applied, as it is very important for the singer to learn how to control their breath and support their sound. From there, repertoire mimicry is applied, or what I call "phrase building," as it is important for any singer to be able to effectively create vocal phrases.

However, an effective warm-up is essential for avoiding injuries, such as tendonitis, and can also help increase the dexterity of your fingers and hands, allowing you to reach certain tough chords. Before you get into the "meat and potatoes" of your practice session, you'll want to spend a good 10-15 minutes focus …
