Experienced piano teacher of eight years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of piano skills. I typically use Alfred's Basic books and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: flash cards and a metronome. I work with my students on sight reading as well as ear training so they can become better players over time. I also provide my students with homework sheet that explains what we have been focusing on, what they have achieved, and what is the expectations for next lesson.

I have been a professional singer since 1983 and have taught since 1986. I studied voice and trained classically from 1972 - 1982. Several of my students have been professional singers, from rock to opera. I teach the individual to understand the technicalities of the vocal instrument; how to breathe correctly, understand the internal acoustics and how to access them, how to project healthily, how to relax and get out of the way of using your instrument, and so much more. This is not your typical voice curriculum, but even more essential if you want to keep your voice in top form all your life. At 67, I can sing with or without amplification for several hours a day indefinitely because I have mastered the techniques I will teach you.
Singing is my life! I trained classically from 4/1972 - 4/83, then continued concentrated self study for 5 years. I sang for Voice of America and National Geographic Explorer specials before becoming voice coach for the MD Renaissance Festival. I have sung professionally since '83 and have taught

Elaine Sin Yee Y.
Speaks English, Mandarin, Chinese, Cantonese
Doctor of Musical Arts, Piano Performance from Michigan State University
Teaches students Male: 5 to 30; Female: 5 to 40
My teaching approach is as follows:
If the student is new, I will need to know if he or she has any musical knowledge.
If the particular student is a total beginner, I will definitely start from scratch and I will provide my own teaching materials for the learning process. Parents are welcomed to sit in the lessons and observe my teaching.
If the student is in intermediate level, I will first listen to the student's playing briefly to get the idea of the level of piano playing, and the student's previous learning experiences with their previous teachers. After that, I will have discussions with the parents regarding my further approach of teaching.
About Elaine Sin Yee
Sin Yee is making headlines as a sensational young pianist in her home, Malaysia. She is the top prize winner at the 5th Thailand International Piano Competition 2018, Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition (Artist Category) in 2013, and the 1st Thailand International Mozart Piano Competit

Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Stevie Wonder—so many names top the list of influential piano players in music history. Ben Folds grew up in in North Carolina listening to piano grea …
