For the past 5 years I have been teaching cello to beginner and intermediate students of all ages. I started playing when I was 15 years old, so my experience learning the fundamentals of playing cello are still fresh in my mind. This gives me an edge in my teaching when introducing the instrument to my students. I am a member of the Lone Star Philharmonic Orchestra and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Cello from Texas State University. I can help you learn not only how to play the cello, but can ensure that you have a strong handle of the basic fundamentals, note reading, and music theory as well!

About Gabriel

Hello! I'm Gabriel and I began to play the cello when I was 15 years old after watching a metal band perform with only cellos and no guitars. As I began to learn the cello and play in orchestra, I grew to love classical music! I went to school at Texas State University and received two bachelors deg

Gabriel is one of the best instructors ever. He found really interesting music for my daughters to play. He also gave them history about different composers and other background info. He taught them a lot of good techniques to help them play better. Overall, he is really inspiring and my daughters advanced a lot. He always went above and beyond. I can't recommend him enough. My daughters loved having him as their violin teacher as he helped them grow fond of music while playing their violins.

Barry Harris, the great Jazz pianist, and educator says, “I have such a ball in my classes, and I learn so much from my students. They probably don’t realize that I come to school here, too. I’m just the oldest member of the class. I wish everyone could experience the blessing of learning new things all the time.”

The above statement describes how I feel when I am teaching. I have been playing and performing for over 20 years in many capacities, and still, music continues to teach me new things every time. Not only do I want to share that experience with you, but I also want to guide you into having that experience for yourself.

About Ian

I started on the violin when I was about 8 years old. I began with classical music, studying in the Suzuki method. I loved my time in the Suzuki method; I wasn’t always the best student; however, in hindsight, I am incredibly grateful for the experience with my teacher, the method, and the strong

My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

"My son started learning the drums at age 5. Not only is he able to keep a beat but he is learning to read music. He is also being taught proper drumming techniques and that there is more to it than just banging sticks. Within these past two years, Mike built his confidence and gave him enough skills to go perform at his school's talent show. Each lesson my son comes out smiling and has a sense of accomplishment. He says his lessons are fun and that Mike is a cool teacher. Mike shows that he loves to teach and I couldnt be more pleased!!!!"

"As a complete beginner, I really had no idea how to begin with piano. I'm so glad that I found DeAnna and have her as my piano teacher! She's really patient, knowledgeable and always makes sure the lesson is well organized. Before the first lesson, she sent me a list that needs to be prepared before first lesson. I could feel she must be very experienced at that time, and it turned out to be true in the following lessons!

She's a really good teacher. Not only her piano teaching skill is perfect, but also she treats her student very kindly and always smiles and encourages me. I appreciate her a lot, cuz she helps me to keep my learning enthusiasm, which makes me feel I can finally become an amateur pianist! Haha

Thank her a lot!"

"If you're thinking about taking lessons from Ahmad, do it. For years I thought I just couldn't play the guitar. I tried learning online, but nothing stuck. I even took a group class, which was better than trying to learn online, but I still wasn't satisfied. So, I decided to look into private lessons, even though I was nervous about the one-on-one dynamic. For years I have struggled with performance anxiety and was afraid that would prevent me from ever really learning the guitar and playing with other people. I discussed this with Ahmad before and at my first lesson. I can't tell you how amazing it felt a few months later when we played a song together and I had no fear or anxiety.

I credit this to the fun and relaxing atmosphere Ahmad has created in his studio space which makes it easy to learn, ask questions and enjoy my lessons. He has a deep passion for music which is infectious. I leave every lesson feeling energized and excited to work on my new material.

If you're interested in learning how to play the guitar or improve your skills, give Ahmad a shot. You'll be so glad you did. Before, I thought I just couldn't learn how to play the guitar, now I'm looking forward to years of honing my skills, playing with friends and experiencing the joy of creating music."

Essential Scales for Jazz and Blues Piano Players

Curious about playing jazz or blues on the piano? Learn about some of the essential scales to learn in this guest post by Augustine, FL piano teacher Heather L...   Jazz music has been called the only truly American art form, born and raised on this very soil.
