Hello Singers in the making!
This class will help you improve, or learn, proper singing techniques; which will help you create your own beautiful, unique sound.
We will base the curriculum off of what your current level is.
- Your music is FREE, you will never need to purchase any sheet music when you are my student. I will make sure to get you a PDF of any music we work on.
- You will gain knowledge of the vocal anatomy; to use your instrument you must know how it works. So many people try to sing and they think they are bad singers, or believe they cannot sing. The fact is, you cannot sing properly unless you understand the structure of the anatomy that creates your sound. (To sing without knowing how your vocal folds, resonators, and lungs work would be like getting in a car and never being told what any of the gears do. It would be like baking without being told the ingredients.) You cannot "wing it", you have to know "how" in order to create a beautiful sound.

I have been teaching this subject for over 10 years. I have a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Vocal Pedagogy. My students can expect vocal technique through warmups, appropriate repertoire selection, language guidance, and an integration of singing and acting (performance skill) appropriate for auditions. We will work on consistency of resonance, intonation, breath, and interpretation.

Here, Baltimore, MD voice teacher DeTrece L. breaks down the basics in an easy-to-remember acronym... Many students have asked me how I sing with so much passion and color, regardless of the genre. My answer has always been the same: Let your heart sing! Vocalists are the only musicians who do not have the option of making actual, physical contact with their inst …
