Lessons with Cindy are self-directed with coaching intended to help the student accomplish his or her personal objectives. She will ask you to provide examples of music that you love so much that you'd be willing to work hard to learn to play it, and you will find yourself working on that music right from the start. Technique is taught in the context of the music: if you need a technique for a particular song, you will learn that technique. And of course once you've mastered a technique it's yours to use on the next song or tune and the next. It's a constant process of enjoying the music and discovering and mastering the technique needed to recreate it in your own playing or singing.
*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons start with a review of the work you've been doing. We might take that song or tune to the next level with a new technique, or we might apply technique you've already learned to a new piece. Every lesson is different, customized to the needs of the student at that moment.

I have performed in various productions, staged readings and festivals around the country -- from professional theatre for young audiences to classical texts to contemporary TV pilots.
Currently, you can find me managing the marketing and public relations for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, or creating original works for audiences that benefit from sensory and autism-friendly strategies with Jumping Jack Theater.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!

About Miranda Bartira
I'm Brazilian, and I've performed in several orchestras, both in Brazil and in the US. I've also played in musicals (Cabaret, Gypsy, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, among others) - this is something that I really enjoy doing! I'm also a singer, and I've sung in choirs and in Bossa Nova and Jazz bands.
I have a Master's degree in Performance (bass) and another one in Popular Music (Brazilian Music). Right now I've just moved to Pittsburgh, PA, for my PhD in Musicology.I love to learn about Music!
A little bit about my experience as a Music teacher: I've taught at universities, conservatories, social projects, private studio, K-12... I love to teach Orchestra, and I'm a
I enjoy to teach kids very much, and I'm a certified Suzuki teacher. I also hold a standard certificate for Music (K-12), issued by the state of Texas, and I'm a member of TMEA. That doesn't mean I don't like to teach adults; my oldest student ever was 72! It's never too late to learn Music and to have fun doing it! If you want to give it a try, I can help you. Just contact me!

My name is Evan McGlennen and I am a 2017 graduate of the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. While in school, I studied extensively with two-time Grammy award winner Eric DeFade. I continued to study with Eric through the summer of 2015 while completing the Carnegie Mellon Pre-college music program. In the following summer, I was awarded a full tuition scholarship to the Berklee College of Music 5-week summer intensive. While attending the 5-week, I studied with Harry Skoler, Lance Van Lenten and other Berklee College of Music Faculty.
Today, I freelance around the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas playing a variety of styles on multiple woodwinds. I come from a large family so I'm very good with kids and
I taught middle and high school students in the Dallas area while I was working on my Bachelors degree and even completed an entire semester of student teaching to receive my Teacher Certification to teach public school in Texas.
What I enjoy about teaching is helping students reach their goals and being able to see their improvement from week to week. Everyone learns differently so it is a lot of fun to try different things and find the specific way that each student will thrive.
As a singer, you probably know how important it is to take care of your voice -- it is your instrument, after all!
