About Jillian
I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy, am a nationally board certified music therapist (MT-BC); performer and vocal instructor (Bachelor's in Classical Voice); certified yoga instructor and meditation guide (200+); certified and attuned Reiki master; professional freelance writer and editor.

...I find joy in a lot of places! And often I find these areas of study inform and augment each other.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances a
nd developmental delays as well as teens and adults with psychosocial issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, and more.

I incorporate my experience as a therapist into the educative setting.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance.

I am a professional vocalist in NYC. I perform liturgical and classical music, as well as musical theater repertoire. I participate in professional operas, choral groups and other concert series. Performing gives me a sense of bliss and completeness that is indescribable.

As a certified yoga instructor, I teach in many locations throughout Westchester. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I offer private yoga instruction and meditation at my home studio. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized classes offered to deepen your experience.

It is a joy to offer Reiki to curious, open clients in need of energy healing. Reiki is a noninvasive energy healing technique totally separate of any religious affiliation and available to anyone. It is a difficult to describe the relaxing, soothing, and deep-healing effects of Reiki to someone who has never experienced.

Please feel free to inquire about any of my services!

*Note: If you don't see a time slot that is suitable to your needs but would like to try a session or lesson with me, feel free to register for the Flex Plan, and we will work out week-to-week times!!**

**Note: If you are interested in music therapy, please email me with a bit about yourself and your personal goals.

Jillian has been teaching my teenage son piano for several months. He is always prepared and eager to attend his weekly piano lessons. She has an intuitive ability to connect with him in and make him feel at ease and comfortable. I wish he had started at an earlier age. His musical experiences have certainly exceeded my expectations.

About Jon
I am a patient, caring teacher with NYS certification in music education and many years of experience in private instruction and in the public schools. I teach piano and voice and individualize instruction for each student. You will learn basic technique, theory, and repertoire, and then you will focus on the music you want to learn. We'll work together to make the lessons fun and interesting. Teaching is a way for me to share my love of music. My goal is to see my students learn, progress, and perform on their own.

I teach all styles, ages, and ability levels, and specialize in popular, B
roadway, jazz and rock. I am qualified to prepare you for NYSSMA, levels I - VI, and can also prepare you for high school, college, and theater auditions.

I'd like to give you an idea of what the lessons are like. For younger students, I use a combination of method books and fun songs that your child will enjoy. With older students and adults, we can go in different directions, for example: rehearsing for school auditions, talent shows, concerts, and plays, performing original songs, using recorded accompaniment, playing duets, improvising solos, using electric keyboards and synthesizers, learning keyboard accompaniment for singer/songwriters, and more. And we don't forget the fundamentals.

No matter what your musical goal, we can achieve it together. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Will travel to your home. Ages 6 and up. I may have some flexibility in my on-line schedule, depending on your location and my travel time. Please contact me.

Jon was very patient with me as a beginner with never having learned how to read music before or play any instruments. I learned a lot which gave me confidence to continue with my lessons.

When I look back on my education, very few things really stick out. However, I will never forget those amazing teachers that bring a subject to life and change the way you think, forever. Jon is one of those teachers. He is encouraging, patient, informative, and helps you grow as a musician. I started as a beginner with a dream to play the piano. Even though I am still learning, that dream is now a reality and I can really play! If you have an opportunity to study with Jon, I highly suggest you take it. He changed my life and I'm sure he could change yours.

About Rebecca
Hello! Thank you for coming to view my profile! I am a sophmore at the Mannes School of Music studying Flute Performance with Judith Mendenhall. I graduated from Great Neck South High School and Manhattan School of Music Precollege. I have had a couple of beginner flute students whom I taught how to read music as well as the flute itself. These students then went on to participate in NYSSMA. I have always had a passion for learning and teaching and hope to instill my passion upon you! Don't hesitate to send me any questions you may have!

**The availability drop down is a bit confusing. Duri
ng the winter and summer, I will be able to teach in/around Great Neck AND in NYC, whereas during the Fall and the Spring I will be living in NYC and ONLY able to teach there. If you have any questions, please send me a message and we can work out our availability through the message system. In the photos section of the profile, I have posted my free hours from January 23rd - May 15th. Hopefully this also helps!

Thank you again for taking interest in my profile!

I was really impressed with how patient and attentive Rebecca was with my high school daughter. She seems to have a knack for connecting with people and shows a dedication to really having her get better. She is a talented flute player and her sound is amazing.

There is a noticeable improvement after only a few lessons. I would highly recommend Rebecca.
