About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

I'm Brett and I am so excited to start sharing all the wonderful experiences that music has brought to my life, with YOU. I am a recent graduate from New York University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance from the Tisch School of the Arts. I work professionally both as a performer and a teacher. I most recently created the role of Jamie in the North American debut of Bobby Cronin's musical "DAYBREAK", and have also been seen around many regional theaters in the country, most notably "The Who's Tommy" at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. As my tag line suggests, lessons with me are about finding the musician inside of yourself. We often forget that music at its' core is about expression. I want to give you the tools, techniques and structure to engage fully, freely and passionately with the rewarding art form of music. For singers, this means tapping into our breath, our bodies and our support to create those sounds that excite, captivate and move not only our audiences,but ourselves. For guitarists, we are going to exercise scales, fingerings and chords so that we develop a tool box for our inner rock star to play with! I specialize in online lessons so that I can share this lesson program with student's all over the world! If this is your first time with online lessons, rest assure I will walk you through the set-up and technicalities to ensure the utmost productivity from our sessions!

Whichever instrument you take on, we will be building general music concepts throughout every lesson; playing with theory, chord/scale structure, etc. In this way, we develop that all powerful musician in ourselves who can work in multiple artistic mediums, and find fulfillment in the many facets of this amazing art form.

Adam is really super (I am only on my third lesson). He will make you feel comfortable and interact with you in a personable and dynamic way.

He is the perfect teacher if you want to improve your stage voice and pitch. Adam is the man if you have fame on your mind. Julia

If you are a little slow on the uptake, (like I am when I don't know the subject matter) you need to be brave and follow his directions in practicing techniques. Adam personalizes his lessons, but they could be more planned. They feel a little too unprepared.

Voice
I am an empathetic teacher, sensitive to the students individual process of learning. My singing lessons usually start with breathing and relaxation exercises. Vocal exercise come next, then when the student is fully warmed up, we will begin to work on songs. It is important that the student be part of the process of picking material since the more they personally respond to the material the more apt they are to be engaged in their lessons and the more quickly they will learn. After three to six months they will understand the fundamentals of breathing and relaxation and its importance to proper vocal training. They will have begun the process of extending their range and will understand the principles of performance in song.
Acting
As an acting teacher and coach, I tailor my classes to the needs of each student. I utilize improvisatory and sensory techniques to help unleash spontaneity. I also encourage the students to use their personal experiences as a way to access a full range of emotions. I enjoy working with the student on script analysis, so as to discover the underlying motivations of the character the student is working on.
Creative and Lyric Writing
I use prompts as a way to get the student writing. Often, I will ask the student to write for stretches of time without editing themselves. It is important to unleash imagination before beginning the process of editing. Many times it is the unexpected that is the must compelling.

Lessons are taught very close to Grand Central Station convenient for commuters from Connecticut or Westchester. Not to worry, there is no judgement in my studio, in fact, that is my one rule! The studio is a safe place to take risks and explore with our voices. We will work on the proper breathing for power and control, smoothly singing from the highest to the lowest notes in your range, and extending beyond what you never dreamed possible, how all the muscles in your body affect the sound that comes out of you and how to gently optimize your sound, and how you affect your sound by your thoughts feelings and emotions. You are your instrument! In three months you will feel you have a voice you never dreamed you could have.

Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method takes registration understanding to another level and combined with resonance work to take the chest voice up into the head voice fo a healthy Broadway sound.

The McClosky Technique offers the anatomical understanding and affect of the extrinsic muscles of the face, jaw, throat, neck, tongue and alignment, and how these elements affect the smooth functioning inside the larynx.

I incorporate these styles into my own method of approaching the voice by equally addressing Breathing/Registration/Resonance/ Relaxation, and Mind/Body/Emotion.

I am a certified Energy Healer with over 10 years of study and practice in this area. I am very aware of the energetic aspects of an individual, and utilize that knowledge to enhance the learning process.

Sue Anne is truly an incredible teacher; she focuses on you holistically, and works thoroughly from the ground up, in the most optimistic, encouraging and comforting manner I could possibly dream of. Her shining personality and laughter are also contagious. I'd definitely recommend her to everyone and anyone looking for voice lessons.

Great Teacher!

Although I've only been a student of Sue Anne's for a short time, she has already helped me so much to let go of bad habits and develop proper technique. She is very patient and at the same time, she is enthusiastic and genuinely invested in helping me reach my potential. I highly recommend her.

Sue Anne is wonderful!

I came to New York for school and to further my training and aspiration to pursue musical theatre. I saw Sue Anne's ad in Hunter College. Her work focuses on how to sing naturally, something I have always tended to struggle with. I often found myself losing my voice the night before my musical's opening night, because of my constant belting and lack of a balanced relationship between my head voice and chest voice. After being with Sue Anne for a few months, my voice has felt and sounded much healthier! I have gained knowledge of the parts of the body involved in singing and especially breathing, and now instead of wailing away at any high note, I am singing with more ease. Sue Anne is an amazingly talented, knowledgeable and lovely teacher and person. I am ecstatic to have met her, and look forward to hopefully what will be many more months of lessons!

Yun started recording as a singer at a very young age. She has recorded and released 9 albums as a member of “Green Swallows” from 1999 to 2005 and two solo albums in 2004 and 2005. To further broaden her musicianship, she studied composition, arranging and performance at the Berklee College of Music, and completed a Performance Degree. About Deborah
I have so many different things I teach. If you are looking for a voice teacher, I definitely can be of help. I have been singing all of my life. I sing in many different genres like pop, gospel, R&B, and classical. I can even help if you want to be an opera singer, as I am studying to be one myself at the Aaron Copland of Music. First things we would start to do is learn how to breathe. After the student understands good breath, then we will apply it to actual singing.

I also teach Italian, and have taught the language for 3 years in a private school. I lived in Italy for a while and I just love the language. If anyone needs a tutor, I can help!

I also teach art history, and art as far as drawing and painting. So if any parent wants for their child learn how to express themselves through painting or drawing, I can do that as well!!


I love to do all of these things, as I have a great passion for them! I hope I can inspire someone else.
