Bridget is a professional operatic mezzo-soprano with a background in music theater and pop style singing with a passion for helping students find and develop their unique instrument in a variety of styles from beginners to more advanced students with significant prior studies in voice. She is an experienced and patient teacher who tailors each lesson to the students specific needs and goals. Bridget has sung roles with Fort Worth Opera and Kentucky Opera among other national companies and recently taught a masterclass with students at the University of Southern Indiana. She holds a Masters degree in Voice Performance from Boston University and an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University.

Lessons will consist of a warm up and repertoire work! I am a firm believer of a strong foundation for singing, meaning creating a good breath support system, working on consistency in the voice, and doing what makes each singer comfortable. I want everyone to truly enjoy what they sing, and so choosing repertoire will be a very collaborative process! My main goal is for growth in the singer, as a person and as a musician. Music lessons should be fun, encouraging and full of music that you love. They are an opportunity to learn something new, show your improvement, and receive correction, encouragement and praise. Students and instructors should play together frequently throughout and the time should be balanced with theory, technique and exercises, sight-reading, and performance and seasoned with introductions to a variety of music and styles. I like to encourage students to play because they love to play and to find the music that is an integral part of their soul, then to share that with others through performance.
