He taught my son piano when he was small and then when the kid switched to upright bass, he comped him for years and taught him the tricks of the jazz trade (the kid is ready for an arts high school because of Gary's teaching)
Gary is incredibly punctual and responsible about times and dates. In person, he is warm and supportive but very focussed on the student's development. Gary loves what he does and loves watching his students develop. i would recommend him for all levels, and as an added bonus he is a very cerebral and thoughtful individual. Let this musician teach you or your child and you won't be disappointed!

Take lessons with a native Spanish speaker! I have experience working with teen and adults from beginner up to advanced levels. I specialize in grammatical and technical classes as well as conversational ones. I tend to follow a rather communicative teaching approach, motivating students to interact in real situations.
There’s nothing like the feeling of a good class, a class that was enjoyed by the teacher and the students, so I always try to create a bond between students so that classes are more customized. It also helps to develop confidence and promotes the use of Spanish in the class. It doesn’t matter the topic and the focus of the lesson, humor, laughter and little jokes are a must in all classes to break the ice and to make the class more pleasant.
I can't wait to get started!
About Carolina

To “Pick” or Not to “Pick”? Many students ask when first learning ukulele, “Should I use a ukulele pick?” I usually respond by asking questions about the particular styles they are interested in playing and try to get a better understanding of the sound they are trying to produce. Certain styles are more conducive to picking than others and other styles work better with just fingers and no pick. Whether or not you choose to use a pick is dependent on a few things: the style and …

We all know the importance of warming up - but do you actually commit to a proper warm-up every time you sit down to play the piano? If you're in a rush, it's easy to forget it. However, an effective warm-up is essential for avoiding injuries, such as tendonitis, and can also help increase the dexterity of your fingers and hands, allowing you to reach certain tough chords. Before you get into the "meat and potatoes" of your practice session, you'll want to spend a good 10-15 minutes focus …

Cello thumb position is one of the big leaps of technique for advancing cellists and is one of the skills that sets more advanced students from the intermediate. This new technique opens up the higher ranges of the instrument and allows us to play more advanced solos and etudes. This technique is not something you should rush into though! Make sure to take things slowly at first and master the basic concepts before moving on. When Should You Focus on Your Cello Thumb Position? There have to …
