I take a holistic approach to teaching voice. When you sing, your entire body is your instrument, which means that you have to be attuned to your whole body to produce the healthiest, most organic sound. I've been teaching for 13 years, and in that time I've leaned lots of different methodologies. I use a combination of knowledge from my classical training in conjunction with yoga, mindfulness and real world experience to give my students the best path forward in their musical journey. Whether you're just starting out or already a working professional, with my guidance and teaching you'll be making healthier and freer sounds.

I've taught students who have never taken a voice lesson before and those who have been singing and studying for 10+ years.
I especially love teaching those who are new to singing because there are issues in confidence and finding the unique qualities for their voice while still building healthy vocal technique. If this is an issue for an advanced singer, I'd love to help out.

PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT TEACH REGULAR SINGING LESSONS! I DO NOT TEACH VOCAL PRODUCTION, BREATH CONTROL, RANGE INCREASE OR ALL THE OTHER TYPICAL THINGS THAT SINGING TEACHERS FOCUS ON. What I DO help with are the MUSICAL and TECHNICAL aspects of singing only. Many other singing teachers send me their students for help with these difficult issues because they are my field of expertise. These include pitch control (if you sing flat), how to sing harmony, self-accompanying techniques, sight singing and performance anxiety.
About Howard
I enjoy working with complete beginners as well as seasoned professionals. I teach classical and popular styles. I specialize in teaching learning how to learn, sight-reading, technique, improvisation, chord-reading, songwriting. One of my specialties is to help you break through your most stubborn

My love of singing began in my freshman year of high school, when I joined the choir. It was a life-changing experience, and inspired me to make music my career. I immediately began taking private voice lessons, and became a voice teacher myself by 2005. While in college, I was presented with many opportunities to learn and grow, both as a musician and as a teacher. I sang in several different collegiate choirs, and was nominated to be in the all-collegiate choir in 2007. I also passed yearly auditions to sing in Voices Only, Lindenwood's most advanced vocal group. During my junior and senior years at Lindenwood, I worked as the assistant director of Voices Only. This was a wonderful opportunity, and I learned so much while leading warm-ups every day, running sectionals on a weekly basis, directing the group during rehearsals and even during performances when the director was away. I currently sing in the Saint Louis Harmony Chorus, one of the top 25 women's barbershop choruses in the

Marjorie has coached me through more than 50 auditions including conservatory program auditions. She has given me the gift of multiple recitals that allowed me to put her teachings to use. I can proudly say that I am confident not only in my singing ability, but also in my ability to "act the role". By that I mean, adding a character to every musical piece I perform, enabling me to be that much more successful in my performances. She has challenged me to leave my comfort zone and hand over control and I have been more than successful every time I put my complete faith in her.
To me Marjorie is the epitiome of voice teachers. I can not recommend her highly enough. Whether you are trying to make a career out of performance or if you are simply looking for a hobby, Marjorie is by far the best out there. Please give yourself the gift of voice lessons with Marjorie."

Great stage presence can really enhance your performance as a singer! Here, voice teacher Molly R. shares how learning how to act should be on every singer's to-do list... Enviable high notes.
