I've been a professional singer and actress for over twelve years, performing on Broadway in Lincoln Center's Tony-winning Revival of "South Pacific" and touring the county with Rob McClure and Anika Larson in the First National Tour of "Avenue Q." I have an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduated summa cum laude, and was the only female recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Performance. My BA is in Arts and Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

I teach all levels of singing and am familiar with different styles, like contemporary musical theatre, legit, belting, and pop/ rock. When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

As a voice teacher I focus on establishing the fundamental and a solid technique that I can then expand upon to help voices blossom. I work very well with both children and adults and provide and fun and engaging environment that allows students to develop and grow their love of music. I am proficient in piano, the French language, and Italian, German, French, English, and Russian diction.

Whether I’m working with someone in my studio or teaching online, my intent is the same. At the end of the session, my students will understand more about their voice and they have experienced a definite improvement. This is the goal I strive for in each and every session.
In my sessions, I will talk about the physiology of the voice, or how we physically create sound. I will listen to their voice and this will tell me the client’s present habits as well as their potential. I then explain this so they have a clear understanding of the work ahead and what to expect. At the end of every lesson, every student experiences a new freedom in their voice and a greater understanding.

I have 30 years of singing experience and vocal study, 20 years of performance experience, and most importantly a love of vocal healing and with a focus on incredible technique! Trained in the Speech Level Singing Method, my lessons focus on connecting the voice seamlessly from the bottom to the top and expanding the singer’s range to boost confidence and technique in any genre of music. I work with singers of all levels and pride herself on making the experience positive, supportive, and fun.
