About Jessica
I love music! Living in a musical family can be challenging and inspiring. I began to learn Flute at age 7 and have picked up a variety of instruments since. I began to take lessons in middle school for Tenor Saxophone and Trumpet and continued playing jazz for 6 years. At age 14 I began to take lessons for French Horn, which is now my main instrument. I performed in various middle school and high school state solo and ensemble competitions on all four instruments over the course of 7 years. I am knowledgeable in solo and small ensemble repertoire for all four instruments.

I attended Lindenwood University where was Principal to the L.U. Symphonic Orchestra for 4 years, a section leader for the L.U. Marching band for 5 years, and Principal of the L.U. band for 5 years. I also performed in various chamber concerts with brass choirs and
quintets. I have also organized the University's first woodwind quintet (consisting of: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn) for a senior recital. Over my college years I have performed for several community groups and churches. I have been a featured guest and helped with sectional instruction for the St. Charles Youth Orchestra.

I am starting up my fourth season playing French Horn with the Alton Symphony Orchestra. I have been a board member since November 2015 and will be accepting role of Vice President as of June 2016.

*** Lesson Details ***
I like to tailor each lesson to suit individuals. Everyone learns differently and I can adapt easily. I believe in a "no stress" environment. Stress and tension can affect how you learn and if you're relaxed and having fun then you'll absorb more. My lessons will help inspire creativity and confidence. In our first lesson, we will discuss what YOU would like to get out of the lessons, whether you want to learn a new genre of music, prepare for solo and ensemble, improve technique, and anything else that comes to mind.

For beginning students, we'll learn notes, scales, time signatures, and technical aspects of the instruments and music. For intermediate-advanced students, the lessons will depend on what knowledge you already have and what you would like to learn.

Daily practice is encouraged! A teacher can teach, but it takes a student to put that into practice. I can teach Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet at beginner levels. I can teach French Horn from beginning to advanced levels.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide music and pencils. I expect my students to provide a music stand and a positive attitude. Miscellaneous cleaning/care products and reeds should be provided by the student.

*** Specialties ***
Classical, Baroque, Romantic

About Richard
Music is my life. Since the age of 16, I have studied the guitar extensively. During my high-school years I was involved in band, marching band, choir, and independent music theory. I started my first band when I was 19 in the U.S. Army, and my life has never been the same since. I played music professionally in local bands while attending UMSL and have been teaching guitar and musical performance to many students privately for the last 7 years while developing and exploring my own musical goals. Recently I have written, produced, and performed on 5 original music albums, toured from St Louis to Texas and Colorado, and have learned many things about humanity and our culture's relationship to music. Those who share a passion for music form an extraordinary community. Come take the first step toward your potential...

*** Lesson Detai
ls ***
My students can expect professional, expert advise from a working performance artist. One of my main philosophies is a focus on fun. If music is fun, then students will practice more - which leads to accelerating returns. My students can expect lessons tailored to their specific goals. First I will discuss with the student musical influences and genre preferences, then I will assess the student's current abilities and we will begin designing a weekly regimen of practice and study. As a product of the Internet generation, I recommend using all the tools available to my students including the Internet to further their goals. My students will also learn to perform with other musicians, so we will typically have a segment of each lesson dedicated to jam time. Whether my students aspire to be professional performance artists, impress their love interests, or just rock out in their bedrooms, I work with my students so that they can do exactly that.

*** Studio Equipment ***
one bedroom apt...hardwood floor...central room for studio...music stands, room parents to sit, chairs...

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring a music stand, an acoustic guitar, my handout literature, and any other equipment (mic, stand, vocal amp, electric guitar, guitar amp) based on what my students want to learn. I expect my students to own whatever instruments they want to learn.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching acoustic and electric guitar and stage performance. I teach using handouts that I customize for students and have lessons made up around different concepts such as - learning to identify what key a song is in - how to use 3 chord combinations - learning scales and when to use them - these type of things. I usually teach based on how I learned, which includes - using the Internet to learn songs - how to figure out how a particular song is played - getting into good practice habits - etc. My genres of specialty are Blues, Rock/Classic Rock/Southern Rock, and Acoustic Singer/Songwriter. What I like to do is ask a student what kind of music or songs they would like to learn, then build them up to the level they need to be to play those songs or that style of interest.

My first lesson with Richard was great! He explained how to set everything up and a few fundamentals in a way that we were able to get through them fairly quick and we got right to the fun part. I found myself playing a few cords and jamming with Richard halfway through my first 45 minute class. This is exactly why I wanted to have an instructor, so I can reap the benefits almost immediately, which makes me want to come back for more.

Combined a great balance of practice, instruction, theory, and suggestions for "homework." Didn't feel inadequate, like I did with another instructor from school of rock.

If you are looking for a vocal instructor, I highly recommend Adam! Adam is one of the most patient and understanding people that I have ever met. He has a true passion for teaching and that can be seen during each lesson through a variety of vocal techniques. So far, our vocal pedagogy has included: how proper singing technique is accomplished, breathing and air support for singing, posture, diction, vowels and articulation, range extension, and tone quality. Music has always been an important part of my life and I am grateful to have Adam as my vocal coach in order to further develop my voice. I have learned many helpful techniques from him and I am looking forward to learning more.

About Kathy
About Me: I am an experienced classically trained Pianist who has been playing since the 3rd grade. I enjoy all styles of music and love sharing that enjoyment with my students. I have certification from the State of Missouri that I am proficient in educating beginning Piano students and have continued to expand my knowledge through my participation with local musicians’ groups. I am also working on expanding my instrumental abilities through perfecting my percussion skills and planning to learn guitar.

Experience: I have taught students for over 30 years and have seen many changes in both student’s preferences and the style of Music and instruments preferred. I am comfortable with both traditional pianos and organs and modern electronic keyboards. I have given lessons in my home, my students’ home and retail studios.

Methods & P
hilosphy: I start my students with the John Thompson Piano Course, First Grade Book. I began with this one myself and have found it the most productive and enjoyable for my students. I like to use this in conjunction with the John W. Schaum Note Speller as a good foundation in Music Theory. I believe that a good grounding in Theory is essential as a student who becomes proficient in sight reading, no matter how well he/she plays by ear, will find that the doors for lifetime musical fulfillment with be much wider.

Lesson Style: I also believe that Piano Lessons should be fun. Since I generally teach one on one, lessons can be tailored to each student and I add supplementary material to the Piano course as soon as possible based on the student’s progress and interests. I am willing to add supplementary music in most any genre from current radio hits, to Pop Standards and soundtracks, as well as Holiday Music based on the student’s culture. There is no proper pace as long as the student is willing to practice and is interested in learning. I am always surprised and happy when a student “gets” the language of music and really starts to express himself/herself through the instrument and I always find that my students teach me as much as I teach them

About Daniela
Hi ! My name is Daniela and I can't wait to meet you!
I have been teaching piano and theory since 1994 and have loved helping my students discover the beautiful world of music. Seeing my students grow into well rounded and educated people that love art, are able to recognize different styles of music, express their feelings and emotions on this wonderful instrument makes me really happy. My students range from people who simply want to learn how to play proficiently as a hobby to students who are considering making music their future career.
I strongly believe that a chance to go on a big stage and play on a great Steinway piano in front of people, makes a big difference in children's lives: teaches them self control, gives them great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Taking part in festivals and piano competitions helps
with building high self esteem even more.
I look forward to helping you and your children to reach your goals!

Hi, I'm a 23 year old saxophonist attending Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. I specialize in fundamentals, like technique, building a solid sound, and music theory. I also specialize in higher level playing such as jazz and improvising. I've been teaching lessons since I was a sophomore in high school. I have studied with the very best (Jim Odgren, Dino Govoni, Mike Lee, John Wojciechowski, Bob Mintzer, Marcus Strickland, to name a few). My teaching style is friendly and energetic; I want students to be excited about playing saxophone. It's my passion and I look forward to letting my students find their passion for music as well. I also work at a saxophone shop where I test out horns and mouthpieces and work with social media and sales.

My prices are negotiable! if you are having financial troubles I am glad to make a p

I grew up surrounded by a musical family and was taught to love music at an early age. I hope to pass on that love of music to any student who walks through my doors.

I have a bachelors degree in piano performance, and have been giving private piano lessons since 2011. I have experience teaching beginning and intermediate piano students of all ages, and am comfortable teaching from a variety of method books. I aim to choose material that will be fun, engaging, and learning appropriate for each individual student. Though my training is classical and I believe this provides a good building block for learning music, I like to incorporate many different styles of music, based on students' interests.

*Please note: I currently teach from my home, and we do own a cat. If you are allergic to cats, please let me know - I am happy to make sur
