Ms Teresa is awesome! She has taught my daughter how to play both Piano and guitar. I love that she actually teaches the music and explains things not just how to play the song!

I started trying to teach myself piano until I met Ms. Arth. On the very FIRST lesson she pointed out some bad habits and quickly resolved them. This allowed me to reevaluate my technique and iron out the basics. I plan on continuing my studies with Ms.Arth and I highly recommend her for any student beginner or advanced. Totally πŸ’― satisfied!!!!

Teresa has been amazing helping Lily learning piano. Her self esteem has grown so much. I love that the students learn multiple instruments.

Recently graduated from Juilliard, I've been teaching violin and viola for five years, and welcome students of all levels and ages. My background is firmly classical, but additionally I also love fiddle music and give students songs from many genres to learn, arranging upon request. I'm currently a doctoral student at USC, and I work part-time locally as a violinist in the YMF Debut Orchestra. I am also glad to help students with recording, video editing and social media.

About Alexander

Alexander Cai Knecht, 29, completed a Doctor of Musical Arts at USC under full scholarship in 2018, where he studied with Brian Chen. He holds a master's degree from Juilliard, where he studied with Masao Kawasaki, and bachelors' degrees from La Sierra University, where he studied with Jason Uyeya

I really appreciated Alexander teaching me violin. He was basically my first instructor and he was always patient and motivating. He accommodated my unique needs as an adult beginner and brought me far in a short time. He was a little challenged to balance teaching with his heavy school load, but I appreciated his willingness to take the time to teach and help others.

"Ms. Taylor's expertise and motivational teaching has led to my daughter being able to flourish with her piano lessons. In the 2 years that she has taken lessons, she became an intermediate student and has taken on more difficult pieces. Ms. Taylor is excellent in assessing her student's level and needs, and she encourages them to surpass their own goals."

"Ronald Chaz Barcenilla was an employee at the Johannes School of Music (1997-2011) and an independent contractor (2012 - current) . He has been the music education consultant and coordinator to develop a music and language curriculum primarily for college entrance matriculation. He also teaches Piano Performance, Vocal Technique, Composition, and Music Theory. There has been nothing but positive remarks and praises from both parents and students. His passion and dedication for teaching children, teens, and young adults (oh there were 3 senor citizens at 78, 82, and 95 year of age also!) is reflected in the top- quality recitals and concerts that have been a half-yearly and yearly goal for his students, as well as the examination reports achieved in the majority of cases in the Distinction range. He has also produced very fine musicians, most have become music graduates and a few are well known in the industry. It's deceiving because he does not at all look his age considering all the achievements he has received. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the talents of this great teacher and mentor. He is also fluent in Spanish, Italian, German, French as I have heard him many times teach in these languages. I cannot download a pic from this computer but feel free to call the school at (424) 204.5433 for any further query about him."

Is Piano the BEST Instrument to Play? Sound Off!

We came across this interesting article from MyDreamTeacher.com and just had to share!  Here's a taste of the reasons the author thinks the piano is the best instrument out there: 1) It has more notes. The piano keyboard represents every note available on other instruments.  There is no instrument that has a note that the piano does not have.  This reason alone gives a strong case for everyone to play piano. 2) What you hit is what you get. The piano produces the most immediate results …

Can I Afford to Buy a Piano? | Tips for Financing & Purchasing

Thinking about buying a piano or keyboard, but worried about the costs involved? Here, Saint Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares her tips for keeping the price - and your stress level - down...   As a piano instructor, I meet many potential students and parents who are very interested in lessons for their family, but won't sign up because they don't have a piano or keyboard, or are concerned about piano prices. Don't let this keep you from investing in music education! There are …

5 Killer Tips for Mastering Guitar Chords

Last week, TakeLessons teacher Kevin B. showed us how to play 5 easy guitar chords that allow you to play tons of easy songs.  Have you been practicing? Just as pianists should learn the theory behind scales, beginner guitar players should review individual chords to ensure a well-rounded foundation.  After all, chords are the basis of guitar playing, so the more you know, the easier time you'll have learning songs.  Instead of just memorizing each chord, go the extra mile to really unders …
