Great learning experience with Eric.

I can't say enough good things about Earl's instruction. He's extremely knowledgeable and talented and yet responsive, inspiring, and kind. Rather than applying a narrow and rigid approach to teaching, lessons are built around my abilities and interests and he has taught me new ways of looking at music and playing guitar. I feel very fortunate to be one of his students.

Andrew is a gifted teacher who prides himself on making the student feel comfortable, no matter their level of experience or ability. This approach has worked successfully for many of his students, allowing them to be more open and understanding of some of the many concepts introduced and practiced while learning the piano.

Andrew is also very adaptable, understanding that each student is different, responding to unique learning styles and approaches that suits them better than others. But one thing remains the same, and that is the ability to enjoy the work as well as feel clear and measurable progress. This is any student's ultimate goal, and Andrew has a proven track record of success when it comes to learning the instrument.

Andrew will work with you to establish clear goals, if you don't already possess them, and be a steady and comforting guide for you on your journey - no matter how far you intend to go.

About Andrew

Andrew started playing piano at the tender age of 3. His mom wanted him to spend his endless energy on something artistic so she started him on piano lessons. Very early on it was clear Andrew had a natural, unique ability to connect with the piano. He played in school bands throughout grade school

I love working with people and helping them discover their instruments and how to deliver their sound! As a voice professional I've worked with voice students from beginners to the extremely advanced and seen tremendous growth and also have extensive experience coaching full bands and helping them develop their stage presence and quality of sound.
I also adore children and truly enjoy teaching beginning piano and guitar. With a Master of Music degree and over twenty years experience in teaching and professionally performing vocally in almost all American art forms, I have helped students consistently grow and develop with noticeable changes in their instrument within just a few weeks! I also do performance coaching for the young independent artist and/or music theater performer, going beyond just the mechanisms of the instrument to help the performer fine-tune ways to engage their potential audience.

Miriam has made a tremendous positive impact on my vocal technique. Her vocal pedagogy is masterful and her vocal chops are top notch from her extensive experience touring. If you are looking to become a better vocalist and wish to enjoy your lessons, I would look no further than Miriam Porter.
Ally
Taking lessons with Miriam has been a blessing in my life. She has helped me not only grow vocally, but as an individual. She is incredibly intelligent, kind, encouraging, and talented! I would never take voice lessons with anyone else. She is a ray of sunshine, and if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be where I am today, vocally and as a person. I recommend her to everyone considering taking lessons. She cares for you as an individual, and believes in you. That is incredibly hard to find elsewhere, and I am grateful I found her!
Mikayla
Miriam taught me vocal techniques that no other teacher could teach me. She has left such a big impression on my life. She has a beautifully soul and is genuinely a great person. She is the best vocal instructor I have ever had.

"Eric is a professional career musician who composes, records, and tours. I've taken lessons with him for the past eight months. He teaches everything you'd need to know as a player to improvise and go on to write your own music. Furthermore, he works from his students perception of genres of music, artists, and songs, that are interesting to them - so you will always be playing something that excites you."

"Kendra has been a wonderful instructor for our daughter, Kate. She has a great way of "scaffolding" the learning, so that Kate is almost always at the edge of her abilities.... not too easy and not too hard. Kate enjoys Kendra's approach and is very comfortable with her. We have been very happy with Kate's motivation to practice and with her progress in learning. She especially enjoys the variety of music that Kendra encourages her to play."
