"My daughter Caroline has been taking voice lessons with Stacey since March, 2014, and right away she developed a strong rapport with her. Stacey is a wond
erful teacher. Not only is she a very talented singer herself, she also has a very outgoing personality and truly cares about helping her students achieve their dreams. Just a few months after she started lessons, my daughter achieved her goal of being accepted into her high school's vocal ensemble. Since then Stacey has encouraged her to participate in other competitions and recitals. Stacey has not only developed Caroline's talent, she has helped develop her confidence."

I am from a musical family of several generations, all the way back to my great
grandfather! I am the niece of acclaimed Jazz Trombonist Urbie Green, the cousin and ( I'm told ) the first classical piano inspiration of award-winning Jazz Pianist Jesse Green. Many of the musicians in my family are members of the American Federation of Musicians; I am a former member of the AFM in good standing.
Among my other relatives have been numerous less-known, yet greatly accomplished professional musicians, from famous name swing bands to New Orleans jazz. Stars and glamour in the music business have been part of me from the time I was a gleam in my parents' eyes.
Although my family's renown is in the jazz idiom, I studied classical piano, sheet music and singing for musical theater from pre-K through high school. My experience has included playing an electric keyboard and singing vocals in a professional, working band.
After playing with bands in high school, as a college music major, making good grades was a piece of cake! I was invited to phi theta kappa honors society, graduated with honors and, with a 4.0 grade point average, was offered an opportunity to study in the professions.
Being from such a musical family, the idea of learning an academic profession sounded exciting, so I graduated University, served an internship, and passed professional licensing exams before I learned that being a " pro " did not guarantee financial security.
Due to the economy, I made a decision to return to my roots. I have dusted off the piano and refreshed my music skills so I may teach quality, private lessons to dedicated students. The variety and extent of my knowledge in music, and my family values, will help you learn what you want!
*** Lesson Details ***
I will be available for beginning and intermediate students. If you have never touched a piano before, you are also welcome! Beginner students may come to the first lesson without books, but if you have books or sheet music you are familiar with, please bring what you have worked with most recently.
Be prepared to start with an evaluation of your abilities ! We will cover posture ( both body and hands ), warm-up exercises and ( surprise ) cool-downs too. After the evaluation we will take a look at what you want to learn, and we will help you find the pathway to make your goals with piano music. After each lesson, you will be able to practice what you have learned on your own, for a week or two, and then we will meet again for a new lesson to re-evaluate what has been accomplished. We will discover your strengths, increase your understanding, and then open the door to what we will work on next.
*** Studio Equipment ***
You get a great view of a beautiful lake, and a fantastic and fun music lesson at the same time ! My humble yet dependable upright studio piano is in the foyer just as you walk in.
*** Travel Equipment ***
The student is expected to provide all instruments, books, and/or any other equipment to use for practice and performance outside of the lessons.
I used to say that you need to have access to a piano or keyboard to learn piano, and that is definitely the best way to learn. If you have access to a computer and not a keyboard, you can still learn to play music with these resources I heard about from George W. Russell, Jr., Professor of Harmony/Piano, Berklee College of Music:
I am sure you will love my studio. I do expect students to do the travelling for music lessons :)
*** Specialties ***
I teach beginning through intermediate students.
Classical piano, music theory, sheet music, vocals with microphone, vocals for stage, acting.
*** Other things I can teach ***
Tutoring for writing, basic studies, including study skills, setting goals and motivation.
Architectural design for buildings, homes, gardens and interiors.
Mythological Goddess Studies and Practical magic.
*** Note regarding dates of certificates and education ***
Dates posted are approximate, and to the best of my recollection without actually having to locate each certificate and find the date on it. If anyone wants the exact date, just ask me and I'll take a look.

Makes Learning Fun!
Sylvia is a great teacher. She is very understandable and helps you learn in whatever manner you choose. If you're serious about learning piano, Sylvia should be your choice because of her array of knowledge and tips.
I started singing professionally at the age of fourteen. I have had leading roles in semi-professional theatre productions since I was seventeen. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to Camelot. In the theatre I have worked with and trained children and adults of all ages. I have also conducted summer camps that were theatre workshops for children. I was a school teacher at a Charter school for eight years and I taught music and drama to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
I have been giving voice lessons for more than twenty years. I tailor my programs based on the needs of my students. I am passionate about music and I love being able to share that with other individuals who are passionate about music. I have worked with children and adults who told me "I cannot sing" and have shown them that, once you understand how your voice works, you can do things you never dreamed you could do. I will work hard to help anyone who has the love and determination to sing to improve and become a better singer.
One of my students was accepted to AMDA in New York and several of my students have won various competitions.
*** Lesson Details *** The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to know all of its parts and how it works in order to get the most out of it. I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship. My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons not just instructional but fun.
*** Studio Equipment *** Home-lessons taught in a designated music room, has an electric weighted keyboard and a karaoke machine.
*** Specialties *** I teach my students breathing techniques; how to use the diaphragm and relax the vocal chords; how to project; how to properly enunciate; how to perform a song instead of just singing it; showmanship; how to select the music that is right for them. The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to fully understand it and its different parts in order to get the most out of it.
In regards to the various hand-crafting arts that I teach. I have been hand-crafting for more than forty years. I first discovered my love for creating things when I was only six years old, which is when I first began to learn embroidery. That just made me want to learn even more and I am always looking for some new and interesting art to learn and master. I have been a costumer for more than thirty years, creating costumes for community theatre and making period costumes for events such as the Renaissance Faire and Civil and Revolutionary War Re-enactments.
One of my new passions is Recycled Crafts. Taking items that you might throw away and turning them into something useful. For example, I had a pile of sheets that we didn't use any longer. Instead of throwing them away, I made them into rag rugs. Another of my favorite recycle crafts is taking the plastic bags that you get your groceries in and making them into re-usable totes that are washable.
Needle tatting is a form of lace making. Taking string and creating some beautiful lace that allows you to add old world charm to a garment or project. One of the things that I like about this hand-craft is being able to easily take it with me (to doctor's appointments for example) so that I can have something to do while I wait.
As you can probably tell, these are things that I am passionate about and I love teaching them to anyone who wants to learn.

Tina is the best voice coach. She is very professional but friendly at the same time. Somehow my daughter(8 years old) clicked with her and loved singing with her! Tina successfully prepared my daughter for the Talent Show quickly even though the date was imminent. My daughter is currently taking a break from singing until her school is over. I highly recommend Tina to anyone who has a child or teenager as she is very patient and fun to sing with!

Ms. Tina is the best singing teacher in the High Desert! My daughter loves coming to her lessons, and has vastly improved. She has had 3 other singing teachers prior, but they did not teach breathing and vocal techniques. Ms. Tina coaches and critiques without being overly critical. She challenges my daughter with different genres of music, which has helped her not only widen her interests in music, but also improved her vocal abilities tremendously.
So if you're looking to sing better just for fun or for a competition, Ms. Tina will help get you there!

Best Vocal Teacher Ever!!
Ms tina is an excellent vocal coach, her ability to cover the most important aspects of vocal instruction is very impressive. My experience with her has been extremely beneficial. I had been singing 5 plus years and after taking vocal lessons with Ms.Tina I realized I was singing the wrong way and damaging my vocal cords. After working with Ms tina for a little over 1 month I was able to identify correct breathing tecniques, pronunciation, as well as being able to stay on key. Ms tina is extremely professional, patient, reliable and very passionate about helping her student's reach their goals and aspirations in music.
Any direction that my signing career goes, I would love to keep her as a vocal coach!
My love of music started at the young age of 6 with piano lessons. My parents always said, "piano lessons were the best investment they ever made." Because of their investment it took me through my growing up years playing piano and singing at church and school then into college with a music major. I also auditioned and made the specialty touring "Vanguard Choral Group" and had the experience of producing a record back in the day. Taking what I had learned is now a joy to share with you.
As a private teacher, I can promise you an enjoyable and very rewarding experience - smiles and laughter
are guaranteed! My number one goal for each of my students is to foster confidence in one's self and one's abilities and to grow one's skills with the passion in music.
For more than 30 years I have taught private piano and vocal lessons. I also have taught K-12th Music classes in Private Schools and directed children and adult choirs in churches. My joy in life is sharing my love for music with you!
*** Lesson Details *** Our lessons will be filled with fun, yet challenging. I am patient and very encouraging with every student. I understand that every student learns in a way that's unique to them and I will do my best to discover your best learning method.
I believe it is important for you to have a strong foundation of learning to read notes and understanding the basics of music whether for piano or vocally. Each lesson will conclude with an assignment of songs given to work on throughout the week. These will be the same songs worked on during the lesson time, so you will go home with the knowledge to master each song. Music theory and technique exercises will also be included in the assignments.
Daily practice is strongly urged and will be rewarded. The amount of practice time varies by age and level of skill.
Within the first 3 - 6 months you will understand the basics and start feeling confident in becoming the pianist or vocalist you desire. Everyone learns at their own pace but with your desire and a little hard work and me as your guide and cheerleader you will succeed!
I use the Bastien and Alfred method books. I will also introduce Christmas, Pop, Jazz, Christian, Classical and Broadway Hits for variety as time goes on.
Looking forward to meeting you!
*** Studio Equipment *** Digital Piano
*** Travel Equipment *** I will purchase books but expect reimbursement for them on your first lesson. Cost is usually $10.00 to $22.00 depending on which music books I feel will work best for your age and ability.
*** Specialties *** Creativity in both piano and vocal training Enjoy all aspects of the arts including set design and costuming

Dominae's Review (Student who took the lessons.)
I've been in many different kinds of singing classes and I have never learned as much from them as I have from my time with Ronda. I loved Ronda's down to earth personality and how much she cares about her students. Ronda always has the time to help her students which made me want to do even better! Thank you so much Ronda you've been great!

My love for music goes all the way back to my childhood. As Mom, I knew I wanted my children to love music as well. Now after all the years of working and child rearing it is now my turn to learn how to play piano. Having Ronda as my teacher is the best thing ever. What a warm and wonderful teacher she is. I look forward to every lesson with great anticipation. Thank you Ronda, you are greatly appreciated.

I have known Ronda for several years and have witnessed numerous Christmas, Easter and vacation bible school programs at various churches throughout the years . She showed extreme patience and kindness while helping children of all ages learn songs, all while choreographing and designing beautiful sets for those programs. Her experience and attention to detail are exemplary . . she also gave my son private piano lessons for 7 years, and we have enjoyed listening to the beautiful music he plays to this day! I not only highly recommend Ronda to anyone wanting to have voice or music lessons, she is a wonderful person to know . .
I am President of a growing and flourishing arts organization that specializes in education outreach and commissioning new works. I also tour nationally as a solo/principal soprano and have worked locally with companies like Los Angeles Opera, Opera Pacific, Opera a la Carte and many other Southern California performing arts organizations. I have a BA in vocal performance from Cal Poly Pomona and have worked as a professional singer and teaching artist for the last twenty-five years. In addition to teaching voice in my studio, I am currently working as a teaching artist in several diffe
rent schools and special education sites throughout Southern California. I love to teach, I love when students make breakthroughs, and I love overcoming challenges and solving problems. I specialize in light opera and musical theater. My philosophy is that if a student develops good singing technique, they can sing in any style, from pop music to opera, and keep their voice healthy. No two voices are the same and each of us has our own unique instrument, with the right training that instrument can grow and work at it's optimum. I approach my lessons with humor, putting the student at ease, if the student is comfortable and relaxed, they are more open to learning and their voice will sound much more free and beautiful.
*** Lesson Details *** The lessons are designed around each student's particular need, especially when it comes to how the student likes to learn, not every person learns the same way, so flexibility is key. The student will be given a solid concept of good breath support, work with matching pitches, singing with a line, producing good tone quality and singing with good diction and projection. The student is ultimately going to learn how to become their own voice teacher, they will learn how to listen to their voice and be able to identify warning signs of vocal trouble and how to prevent and solve problems. After about three months the student will be producing much prettier tone and begin to grasp the concept of breath support. As time moves on, they will build their ability to support their voice, open up their sound so they can get more volume without hurting their instrument and the student will develop a better endurance, being able to sing longer and not tire out too quickly. As the students technique develops and strengthens, they will become more confident. If the student is already performing or has worked to the point where they are ready to start performing, then we will spend more time on interpretation and acting as well as developing a confident stage presence.
*** Studio Equipment *** Living room: piano, mirror
*** Travel Equipment *** I only teach from my house and do not travel.
*** Specialties *** I am classically trained, have been singing professionally for over 20 years and I sing both Opera and Musical Theatre.

An is a great teacher. SHe makes it fun for my daughter. My daughter loves her singing lessons.
As a 15 year old teen I was headed no where. I had no interests, and was failing my freshman year of high school. This is when I started playing the guitar and fell in love with music. As I studied under my dad who was a professional musician my mind started to open up. My attention span grew. My problem solving skills and comprehension improved to such a degree that my grades went up to the honor level in my sophomore year. I graduated with a 4.0 so I preach and stress the importance of learning a musical instrument. I got into teaching only 4 years after I first picked up the guitar and im
mediately found that it was what I wanted to do for a living. Oh sure! Playing in bands is fun and I do play in 3 different bands at the moment, but I enjoy seeing my students grow in and with music most of all. I teach acoustic and electric guitar as well as the bass guitar and have 20 years experience as a professional musician. I have been teaching exclusively in the High Desert area for the last 16 years. I started at a music store in Apple Valley called Hi Note Music then taught at Tom's for the last 14 years. In order to better serve the area I now I have three locations in which I teach at. Rollover Beethoven's Music store in Hesperia, My church in Victorville, and my studio in Apple Valley.
*** Lesson Details *** I can teach almost any style of music including Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Country and R&B. I stress the fundamentals: technique, reading, theory, ear training but also I will give you all the licks and tricks you want. The important thing is to develop good habits because bad habits take a long time to overcome. I will provide you with the tools to play any thing your heart desires and the ability to teach yourself.
*** Studio Equipment *** separate studio w/ seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment *** have portable sound system and lap top computer. All the student needs is their instrument.
*** Specialties *** *Teachers marked as a Student Favorite have taught a minimum of 25 lessons and have received the highest feedback rating from students.I have written methods that I have found to work very well in teaching the student all aspects of music and how to apply it towards the instrument. My methods include the essentials in reading, finger exercises, fret-board memorization, theory, and ear training. I like to prepare my students for any and all genres. the key is to teach the student how to teach themselves.
