There is no such thing as a musician with poor ear-training; it is a necessary skill for becoming fluent in the language of music. I teach ear-training as part of instrumental lessons (voice and piano) and a lessons by-themselves. You will learn how to read a vocal line by sight (without the aide of a piano), tap out rhythms, identify harmonic and melodic intervals, hear the difference between various chords in a harmonic progression, and transcribe music.

About Natalie

Natalie is a NYU and BMI Workshop trained composer of songs, musicals, and concert music who has helped many songwriters find their voice and fine-tune their skills. She is particularly adept at identifying what is keeping a song from working (whether it be music, lyrics or both) and helping writers

"Al is an awesome teacher.

When I was looking for a drumming teacher for my son, I looked at several of the teachers' profiles. I thought that Al's profile was the best fit for my son who had no experience in drumming, and my son has learned so much from Al. Al is a wonderful teacher and very patient. He adjusts to the likes and needs of his students. I like that Al is a professional musician/performer and brings that experience to the table too."

For this reason, they can be extremely polarizing. Guitarists tend to either love or hate them. Here are five reasons an Ovation guitar might be just the right thing for you …
