About Denise
I hold a Master's in Voice Performance degree from University of New Orleans and Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from State Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria.
In 2001, I toured with International European Opera Company which performed numerous times in Denmark, France, Italy and USA.
I currently perform and teach in the New Orleans area and love to share my knowledge and experience with my students. There is so much more to performance then just beautiful vocalizing.....

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching is based on my own personal, classical training from Europe and North America. Whether it's opera, oratorio, musical theater or pop-style singing that is desired, I believe that classical technique is an essential source of proper singing that can be used to train singers of all genres.
Just like a piano, flute or vi
olin, your voice is an instrument.
The purpose of voice lessons is to help you develop a beautiful and dynamic singing voice and also to teach you to use your voice in a healthy age-appropriate way that will keep you singing for many years to come!
As your teacher, I want your lesson to be more than just singing through a few songs.
While what specifically happens during a voice lesson can vary greatly from student to student and from week to week, the overall structure of the lessons remains similar.
We will always start with some combination of warm-ups for your breath, body, and voice. Just as you wouldn't go running without first stretching and warming up your muscles, you don't want to start singing full songs without first getting your body and voice warmed up.
Warm-ups will also introduce you to new techniques for properly using your voice in a healthy and beautiful way.
After warm-ups, we will work on songs. Typically, you will sing through the song once, and then we will go through it in small, manageable chunks, applying the techniques from the warm-ups to the songs.
During the lesson we will also work on expression and acting. A song isn't just pretty notes—it tells a story. If it's a song from a musical, there's a specific character that sings it. It's your job as a singer to tell the story and to make it fun and exciting for the audience.
While there's a lot of hard work that goes on during a lesson, voice lessons are lots of fun! As your teacher, I am here to encourage you, support you, and guide you in your vocal studies. I look forward to working with you soon!

Denise has been a wonderful person to learn from, she's always helping me with songs I want to practice and finding other songs she believes could challenge me or a song just for fun. She's quick to critique me and when I mess up and she knows I can do so much better we keep at it until I get it right. I've learned a lot from her and I'm glad she's my voice teacher because we get along very well and she's always so kind. She knows what I need and knows what I know and pushes me to do my best. She really is the most amazing teacher I have ever had!

About Rory
I have been teaching guitar for 7+ years and I have performed and recorded with Kenny Jones (Waylon Jennings, Bill Haley/Comets, Alan Jackson, Tim Mcgraw), Will Ackerman (Grammy Winning Artist and Producer), Steve Holley (McCartney and Wings/Elton John), T. Bone Wolk (Carly Simon, Hall and Oates), Justin King (guitarist/songwriter), Joseph Brent (Regina Spector).

I graduated from the Cecil College in Maryland with an associates degree in music, guitar concentration. I recently won grand prize for the Sara Evans and CD Baby Songwriting Competitions, have my songs in films and games, worked with Grammy Winner Will Ackerman, and am working on my 3rd album!

I teach all chords, strumming patters, notes, scales, but mainly focus the lesson around a song the student wants to learn. What's more fun than playing songs! I will help you mast
er the tools needed to play and perform your favorite songs, whether for jamming in your living room or getting ready for an audition!

There are many guitar teachers available, but I've never met any who've had as much fun with their students. I truly love to spread the joy of songwriting, and playing songs people love!

*** Lesson Details ***
I mainly teach 1 hour lessons but if you prefer shorter or longer lessons I can create a lesson plan that will help you achieve whatever it is you are looking for!

*** Studio Equipment ***

I have been taking lessons with Rory for over a year, and it's been amazing! He's not only incredibly talented and knowledgable, but also supportive, encouraging and patient. He follows your lead and bases lessons off what you'd like to accomplish, be it learning how to read music or how to play your favorite songs! It's also nice to know that I can get in touch with him whenever I have a question and he's always happy to answer me back. He just moved from Chicago to New Orleans but we're going to continue lessons online, since I couldn't imagine taking them with anyone else. You're the best, Teach!

I pride myself in taking a students learning needs and using that as my basis for their specific lesson plan, always on a case-by-c
ase basis, tailored to each individual student. Everyone is at a different waypoint on their path so why would I use a predetermined formula to try and help them, am I right? I am excited to meet and grow with every single one of you, let's learn to love the life we have and let our studies become radiant!

I teach all kinds of disciplines from guitar, mandolin, banjo, and clarinet, to creative writing, meditation, and even astrology. If you have any questions about my teaching methods, skill level in a certain discipline, or anything thing you can think of I would be more than happy to answer you!

Grant is an amazing instructor. I've been taking lessons for 2 months and I can already play full songs memorized. He's willing to teach anything I want to learn and he's very encouraging. He's also been very flexible with my schedule, since I sometimes have to reschedule times due to work.
Lessons are definitely much more expensive than when I was a kid, but I'm going to keep with it because Grant's instruction is worth it.

About Dena
I am a long-time music educator and performing vocalist. After obtaining a degree from the Indiana University School of Music, I taught high school choir in Chicago and held the position of alto section leader in the renowned Chicago Chamber Choir. I also performed with the Marion Consort, Music Box Theater, and I was a soloist at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church. In New Orleans, I sing with the selective chamber ensemble, Krewe de Voix, I have performed at the French Quarter Festival, and I am a soloist and section leader at Trinity Episcopal Church. I have seventeen years of experience working with piano and voice students of all ages and ability levels.

In piano lessons, I ask thought provoking questions to encourage students to find patterns in music, to think critically about the music they are learning, and to develop strong au
ral skills. We focus on technique and theory, but never at the expense of enjoying the experience of playing and learning.

In voice lessons, I specialize in developing beginning-level singers by focusing on breath, posture and aural skills as well as cultivation of vocal quality. If you think you "can't sing," I look forward to proving you wrong!

Quinn was an excellent teacher for me. He transformed me from someone who had no idea what they were doing on electric or upright bass into an All-State quality player. Any questions I had about any genre with bass were answered and taught at a great pace. Lessons were very laid back, but had the expectation that I had worked to improve whatever we were working on. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone.

About Brandon
Hi!

My name is Brandon, and I'd love to give you guitar lessons! Over the past year, I have acquired a passion for teaching that spawned when I was just showing some family members a few pointers here and there. I realized that over the course of my musical life, I have kept all of the knowledge I gained from all of my musical experiences mostly to myself. I realized how fulfilling it would be to pass on that knowledge!

I studied jazz at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA). I also studied for one year at the University of New Orleans (UNO), where I studied with the jazz guitar educator legends Hank Mackie and Steve Masakowski. I now currently study classical guitar as well as composition at Loyola University New Orleans.

Looking forward to working with you!

Durring my time there I had the honor of working with members of the nations Millitary jazz ensembles including: The Army Blues, The Navy Commodores, and The Airmen of Note. This past summer I was a member of the 2016 Disneyland All American College Band where I worked with artists such as Wayne Bergeron, Gordon Goodwin, Ron Carter, and many others. Michael was a great instructor for my 11 year old son. We decided to lake lessons after playing a few years with instruction from Dad. He was ready for a new challenge and probably a new instructor. We asked Mike to give him some Jazz lessons. It was so fun listening to them play together almost immediately. Michael is very patient as a teacher and made it fun for my son. We would still be taking lessons today if we lived in the same state. I highly recommend Michael as an instructor for any level of student.

I am a professional jazz pianist and composer. I attended the Florida State University studying jazz under some of the best jazz musicians in the world including Scotty Barnhart, director of the Count Basie Orchestra and Marcus Roberts, pianist for Wynton Marsalis. I have been playing music professionally since 2011 with my own bands and other groups including the Tallahassee Jazz Symphony Orchestra and a jazz trio here in New Orleans. I truly enjoy teaching anyone interested in learning more about jazz because playing jazz can truly help one grow in their musicianship. I also enjoy exploring more contemporary genres of music like Neo-Soul, R&B, and electronic music. I released a single on Spotify in 2016 called The First Breath and plan on releasing more music. Some of my biggest musical inspirations are Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, and
Robert Glasper. I hope to reflect my musical influences and experiences on all of my students.
